Review The Rabbit Hole Gastropub - Harpers Ferry

Great location, nice outdoor seating plus decent service... we really liked the atmosphere. We took a day trip from DC and this was the perfect lunch spot with views. We came on a Wednesday afternoon and it was busy.... Starters-Loaded Pork fries, flavorful and filling. It gets kinda soggy fast. So eat it quick. Philly Cheese Steak-delicious but messy to eat. Fish and chips-good quality fish and fried crispy but a little too heavy with the "old bay" seasoning. We would definitely return, their menu has plenty of options.

There isn't much variety of food in Harper's Ferry, but this seemed to be THE place to be if you want food. It has some indoor seats and a larger outdoor area for outdoor dining with umbrellas for shade. Great place to eat on a nice day! Overall, the service was good, and all the staff seemed to be working very hard. The food was fine: not terrible, not mind blowing, but also not disappointing. I enjoyed my fish and chips, and the fries looked promising but weren't the crispiest, and the tartar sauce lacked the usual tang that I associate with tartar sauce. The hushpuppies that came with the fish and chips felt a little random but I would never complain about extra food :). My husband ordered the Appalachian BBQ sandwich and said it was horrible. Overall, while I thought the food was fine, it also felt forgettable, as is the rest of the food, seemingly, at Harper's Ferry. My husband and I walked in at peak lunchtime on a Sunday and had to wait 30 minutes or so for a table, which seemed reasonable given the crowd.

My family and I just visited Harpers Ferry and weren’t sure where to eat, we were super glad we stopped here. We dined outside since it was a beautiful day and the view was great. They had an awesome selection of local beers and ciders. We’re all vegetarian and were happy to see the menu had a few options; the kitchen was also super accommodating. We had the portobello sandwich (best I’ve ever had) and the mac and cheese. For dessert we had the cream brûlée cheesecake! Great spot!

Highly recommend this little gem. Food was very tasty and the price was very reasonable! The staff was very kind and helpful. We would visit the Rabbit Hole again! During the cold months, the place is very slow so you will get a table with no issues. They have indoor and outdoor seating. By far the best food we had in the area. My fiancé states "It was the best fish & chips I have ever had!"

This is a wonderful and well run restaurant! Great food options, high quality beer / drinks, outdoor patio, wonderful views, great shopping nearby, and excellent service. This is the perfect option for a satisfying meal experience while exploring lower town Harpers Ferry! Museums, C&O canal nearby, historic sites, and more all right here! I highly recommend a visit!

We came here after a hike last weekend. We ordered the Loaded Pork Fries to start and the Canal Chicken Sandwich and House Salad (with Shaved Ribeye add-on). I would have given this review at least 4 stars had it not been for the onion on the Canal Chicken Sandwich. The service was good and everything else about the place was above average; I will likely still return when we are in town next. The Loaded Pork Fries were great. Fries were good but the pulled pork was so tender it was dripping all over the fries. I particularly liked the gravy they added (and mixed with a sweet brown sauce, a bit like bbq but without the smokey flavor). They were great. The Canal Chicken Sandwich was good but the onions used on it were old, mushy, and tasted rotten. The rest of the sandwich was great so I was disappointed the onion ruined the dish. The salad was good - fresh and the dressing was good with the ribeye cooked and seasoned well.

Great experience at this charming little place. I dare say that it serves as a great encapsulation of the non-Civil War aspect of Harper's Ferry. They have a forestry, national park aesthetic. The staff are super chill and pleasant. Great assortment of interesting drinks and dishes. I would certainly visit again.

Great service and great food! They had heaters at every table and bubbles on the patio to keep us warm on a chilly day. There wasn't one available when we arrived so we were seated at a table with a heater to wait until a one opened up. Our host and waiter provided great customer service and were pleasant to interact with. We also had our dog with us and the waiter brought her a bowl of water and also a couple dog treats! The food was delicious and everything came out fresh, piping hot and in a timely manner. I will definitely eat here again! They have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options on the menu as well, which was amazing.
