Such an amazing place for halal Chinese food. Their crispy chicken is out of this world. We tried General tso chicken today as well, and it's just awesome. This place serves fresh food, and the serving size is too good to be true! Would definitely recommend this to everyone.
Leaving 5 stars because of location and the fact they are zabhia halal. I’m happy more halal businesses are moving into the area. Food is rated 4 star max, there is plenty of room for improvement. My chicken lo mein is on the bland side, it could definitely use some color( see picture), a small portion of veggies would have elevated this. My standard for great halal Chinese is “New Dynasty” on P st in DC, a must try if your have never been.
Amazing food and service. We order HotnSour soup, Hunan combination from chef special, Shrimp Fried rice and Thai curry Lomein combination. We ask them to make it spicy and its very good. Freshly cooked and also server was very friendly also answer all question regarding menu with smile.👍
Went to East Ocean Chinese in Haymarket last week and foods were great. My favorites were crispy chicken and black pepper chicken. I would visit again and foods are 100% halal.

I recently had my rehearsal dinner at East Ocean Restaurant because I wanted to have a very relaxed atmosphere where everyone could enjoy themselves. The owner and staff here were so incredibly friendly and allowed me to have our private event (around 20 people) on an evening without charging an additional fee. They even asked if it would be ok to still have people stop in for To-Go orders and I said of course – I just wanted to make sure we had the space. The woman, who I believe is the manager, called the week before to go over all the details and ask how I wanted the space set-up. The whole process was easy to coordinate and everyone had a fantastic time that evening!
Great food, nice size portions! The general tso chicken is spiced well and very tasty! The chicken and broccoli has become my new favorite dish, not gooey like in some other restaurants, and cooked to perfection.
My wife and I went to East Ocean the first month they opened and we left unimpressed. So much so that we never went back. Tonight we decided to try them again and realized not only have we done ourselves a disservice all these years, but it was a disservice to East Ocean as well. The Black Pepper Chicken was phenomenal! Tender, moist, and full of flavor. The Sesame Chicken, Fried Rice, and Lo Mein were also fantastic. We will be back!
This is my go to Uber Eats place. I cannot overstate how delicious the General Tsos is. It’s pricy, like 15 bucks; but I really couldn’t care less. I could eat it every day and never get tired of it. I don’t think I can speak highly enough of it. 10/10 Chinese takeout/delivery. Would recommend to anyone who has tastebuds.
I had an excellent experience with the food here. We had family visiting and their menu was extensive. We ordered soup, several chicken and beef dishes, one rice and a lo mein. Each entree came with a generous helping of rice (make it fried rice for $1 extra). Order was ready on time and we were greeted by a friendly gentleman. The restaurant was not setup for dine in but looked clean and organized. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish had a generous helping of meat and vegetables and had a fresh unique flavor. There was more than enough food leftover for the late night munchies. We will definitely be ordering from here again!
