Probably the best dining experience in the US. 3 Michelin stars, Worlds 50 Best list, all well deserved. The tasting menu takes you through a journey that captured the diverse California produce which is fresh from the restaurants farm while adding a Japanese influence to the dishes making it exquisite and unique.
The staff were unbelievable. All having deep detailed knowledge in each dish and drink but more importantly welcoming and accommodating to all sorts of dietary restrictions. They went above and beyond in the smallest and biggest of ways.
Having tried dining experiences in Japan Singapore, Peru, Portugal and many other countries, this ranks as one of the very best I’ve ever had. If there is one dining experience I would have on my bucket list in the US, this would be it.

We have been to many Michelin restaurants all over the world, including 3 star establishments such as neighboring French Laundry and Alinea in Chicago. SingleThread was, without question, the best dining experience of our lives so far. Our 10 course meal featured a fusion of summer and fall ingredients, which honored the seasons uniquely and impeccably. I didn’t know produce could taste as good as what was presented in each course! The wagyu and fish were cooked flawlessly and prepared superlatively. And if there was any doubt that this was the best meal of our lives, the dessert that followed quickly put those doubts to rest. Combining both French and Japanese traditions, dessert was innovative, surprising, and delicious. The non-alcoholic drink pairing simply put the whole experience over the edge. It was great talking with our server Garrett throughout the meal. The service overall was some of the very best we’ve experienced as of yet. On your next trip to Northern California’s wine country, skip the tired and commercialized experience of the French Laundry and opt for the cozy, adventurous, and inspired SingleThread. It was a Halloween night we will never forget!

An incredible dining experience! The 3-star Michelin rating could not be more deserved with unbelievable food presentation, impeccable attention to every detail, and an extremely knowledgeable welcoming and friendly staff.
The floral and culinary teams are unsurpassed in artful Japanese inspired design for each of the 10 courses.
An amazing experience of texture, color and flavor, and one of the most memorable meals of my life. Bravo Single Thread!

Food: 3.5/5
Service: 5/5
Ambiance: 5/5
Overall: A good taste of fine dining to try out.
Would I come back: Since I’m not really a fancy fine dining kind of person likely not. But it was good to try once.
The extended review…
Food: 3.5/5 - Definitely fresh and immaculate in presentation. For myself, I tend to look for different and unconventional flavors when doing fine dining so it’s hard to say that anything was really out of the ordinary.
Service: 5/5 - Amazing attentive service. Definitely what I expect from a place with this stature. The servers were very patient and collected.
Ambiance: 5/5 - Beautifully decorated interior and very well suited for fine dining.

Me and my wife have a thing for fine dining and of course we had to check out SingleThread. The experience was truly worthy of being within the Michelins. The ONLY remotely negative point I had was how long the experience was. Due to jet lag (we traveled to CA from DC the day before) we were quite tired by the end of the meal. Regardless, I have nothing but good words to say about the dinner and the service was spectacular.

Wonderful setting, food and service. If anything can justify Michelin prices (nothing can, really), then this is it. Even better than French Laundry. So many vegetables and flowers. Incredible presentation. Enjoyed the roof and kitchen stops. Leisurely meal over 3.5 hrs. A bit too much food in the end, though portions were small enough and thankfully, not many carbs.

The 3-star Michelin rated Single Thread restaurant the most expensive dinner of a lifetime! It was a symphonic opera of visual presentation and unique foods. The food was marvelously delicious. 10 courses with combinations of flavors, temperatures and textures and color; and they have an entire floral team for presentation. Some of the tableside preparation was unique and special in its own right. The staff has an incredible gift of hospitality making us feel both welcome and comfortable with the course pacing being just perfect! Truly worthy of every accolade!!

Disclaimer, this review is for the restaurant only. Beautiful restaurant with a thoughtful aesthetic. The Japanese-influenced seafood-forward food with French technique was delicious and presented artfully, of course punctuated by the initial tableau worthy of all the accolades it receives. Sweet bites, often a letdown in these tasting menus, were very good, and one could sense, more than just thrown in as an afterthought. Service was attentive and efficient, if not at times feeling a little too rehearsed for my taste. Healdsburg itself is charming and definitely worth the detour. Highly recommended for a splurge.

As a foodie turned vegan (still a foodie), there are a lack of options to experience creativity at an elevated level. SingleThread hit every single note. To note, this review is specific to the fully plant based menu SingleThread provide as an accommodation to their main tasting menu.
I was welcomed with a rush of feelings from our entry through completion. This was not just a meal, it was artistry that celebrated all senses. Emotion, nostalgia, surprise, elation, comfort... the list goes on. Each course deserved to be a star and the wine pairing was exceptional. One of the courses included a broth that reminded me of my mom and my grandmother and of home... Memories of my childhood and comfort exploded in my mind. It sounds cheesy but it's true, and I don't care because these artists deserve their flowers for creating such a powerful experience. Thank you, we'll be back.

Second time dining here. So I feel like I know it all.
ABSOLUTELY Deserving of three stars. I am amazed others say they are not deserving. Those reviewers are “wrong”.
Presentation was astounding.
We arrived with a bottle of young monster California cab for corkage that made no sense with the menu but they very graciously made it work. Epic champagne collection. Maybe 400+ different bottles on the list and maybe more hidden away.
A bounty of fascinating dishes and creative plating. Beautiful establishment. On my return home I will immediately start a process of redesigning one of our rooms based on the gorgeous decor.
Impeccable service from a multitude of charming people who interacted with our group more like actors playing wait staff than wait staff. You could easily cast a Tarantino movie from the people who interacted with us. Charismatic, fun and endearing.
Is there such a things as “too much of a good thing” when it comes an experience like this? Maybe. Sadly I was unable to finish the last half dozen dishes which left me feeling guilty. I wanted to but there was no chance.
Reminded me a bit of Mugaritz outside San Sebastien … if it was turned 180 degrees. Maximalist vs Minimalist.
If you can secure a table come hungry and pace yourself and just let the experience take over.

Phenomenal experience with exceptional service and attention-to-detail. It can be challenging to get a reservation at your ideal time but it’s well worth it to compromise the date/time. Treat you and your loved ones!

The entire dining experience was absolutely breathtaking. The plating was gorgeous and even the accompanying smells really added to the taste of the very thoughtful 11 courses. I loved the fresh ingredients and the very flavorful sauces. I can't begin to describe each one, but if you're considering coming here you should go! We had the wine pairing and each choice really did enhance the taste of each course. Every bite was savored and every minute was delightful.

For all of the three star restaurants I've eaten at, this one has the best plate presentations. The on-site floral team is working overtime, for sure. And that's not to take anything away from the chefs. The food was amazing! Lots of really good fish and VERY seasonal veg.
We did the premium wine pairing. Not sure it's worth the extra money. I think we would've been just as happy with the nightly pairing. And there's a pretty big difference in price, so if you go, keep the nightly pairing in mind.
The Inn is legit amazing. Everything was perfect. The breakfast in the morning was every bit as good as you'd think and expect.

I feel like this place speaks for itself, a true Mecca for foodies. My review would just echo the sentiments of others, but I will say the sommelier was especially fantastic. Every restaurant I go to now is a shadow of what they could be, so much so that I kind of feel bad for other restaurants; the menu, ingredients, service, and somme’s knowledge all pale in comparison to SingleThread.
If you can afford it, absolutely go. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Maybe I’ll return if some estranged, rich aunt dies mysteriously and leaves me a fortune.
Disclaimer, we did not stay at the hotel itself but an adorable bed and breakfast about a 5 minute walk away, so I can’t speak to the hospitality side of SingleThread. However, what I saw of the interior was mesmerizing—beautiful decor, beautiful food, beautiful experience.

The best restaurant in the Bay Area, maybe even the country. A beautiful hybrid of Japanese and California cuisine with a sharp focus on hyper seasonality - every bite was not only beautiful, but absolutely delicious. Truly spectacular from start to finish!
