Papas and Beer has certainly earned its reputation as a must-visit Mexican dining destination. From the moment you step in, the vibrant salsa bar greets you with an exciting selection of zesty offerings. The attentive waitstaff make sure your table is ready and that you never run out of chips. With a lively ambiance and a playlist that truly captivates the senses, this restaurant creates an unforgettable dining experience. The service is quick and efficient, a fact made evident by our promptly served, mouthwatering burritos, bursting with exceptional flavors. For fans of Mexican cuisine, Papas and Beer is undeniably a favored choice.
I moved from SC, where there was a Brother's & Beer. I missed it so much and was super excited to find Papa's & Beer. They did not disappoint! Everything was delicious, and the service was great. I ordered the Burrito California steak... Amazing, and it was huge. I brought leftovers home and have enough for two more (smaller) meals. I will definitely be back. I also ordered a Bloody Mary...it was super spicy. The waitress did warn me that it wouldn't be the same as a normal Bloody Mary, and she was right. However, it was still pretty good. If you haven't been here, you have to try it!
Update: I've been several times since my initial review! Everything has been delicious each time, and the wait staff is always friendly. Highly recommend!
Ordered the Pork Verde. Really good, and plenty of it! Reasonable price. The place was busy but the service remained top notch. Left full and happy.
The food and service are great. My husband and I eat here regularly and have never had bad service. Love the salsa bar too! Every time I try a different Mexican restaurant, I am left disappointed and always come back to Papas & Beer!
As many people have mentioned, the food is very good, and it seems to come out at the speed of thought. Of course, Mexican food is simply a recombining of about seven ingredients so it should come out quickly. But the food is really good, the service has always been good, and I
love the little salsa bar.
One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever had, if not the best! Atmosphere was great, service was incredibly fast, and the food was very fresh and delicious- not to mention massive portions! I think we took home more than we ate. Would definitely recommend!
2nd time at this location. It's authentic California style Mexican dishes. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Of the two dishes I've ordered over the two visits and the two dishes I've sampled from my guest I can honestly say get whatever floats your boat cause it's gonna be good. Great will go back at the first opportunity I get.
Heaven in restaurant form. I freaking love everything about Papa's!!
First time here and will be back. Our service and food were both flawless. Flavorful and tender Papaa Fajitas were a perfect choice and left a lot to take home. Cheese enchiladas were hot and tasty. 5 big stars!
Arrived 30 minutes before close. I was afraid that would be too late but they were still hustling and sat a couple parties even after us. Service was slow, but it was hopping on a Sunday night so they were doing their best. My dining companion said the bean dip was the best she's had. Main portions were so huge we could only finish about half but the food was on point. Only thing I'd recommend is cleaning the floor with another product because it was as slippery as ice.
The bean dip is incredible. The margaritas are fantastic and the food is authentic, fresh and absolutely full of flavor. We are from California, and even we were impressed.
The food is always excellent! Try to wildberry margarita. They do have a salsa bar, which is excellent. The restaurant is too small and it is difficult to move around. Otherwise we come here every time we are in town.
Papas and Beer is always busy, and the tables are very close together so it can be somewhat loud. They have an extensive menu, with a LOT of great options. The salsa bar has good variety, with some spicier salsas and some more mild. I ordered the fajita salad with Adovada (a crispy pork with adobo spices) and it was delicious. My son always enjoys the enchiladas rancheras. The combo del Mar is nice when you want something different. It includes a shrimp enchilada and a fish taco, along with rice and beans. Their shrimp and tilapia are usually good. The wait for a table can sometimes be long, and there isn't any real place to wait inside so during winter it can be a pain. It's not my go to Mexican place because of the space, but I do like their food a lot.
Came from Michigan to visit family and have not stopped talking about this being best Mexican I've had. Was my birthday they gave me fried ice cream, Sang happy birthday and shoved my face into it definitely hilarious, made my 40th birthday trip even better
Excellent Cali-Mex food, just like their other locations. I gave it a 4 b/c is it always smoky in the dining room. Get a better ventilation and I'll bump it up to a 5! They have the best salsa bar around, generous portions and great service.
