It's a hot dog joint; what do you expect?. A friend and I met here for lunch. I had a hot dog and fries as well the sign and giant hot dog out front lead me to believe I should. The hot dog was good with a snap and juiciness that I enjoyed, the chili was rather average to be honest and tasted as though very little was done with it in regard to spices, the fries were good, its hard to mess up fries. The owners were very friendly and I will be back to eat here more often.

Great, indeed.. The Great American Dog is one of my favorite places in Hendersonville. The Carolina Dog is my favorite and the hand cut fries are great. I highly recommend this as a "can't go wrong" lunch stop; there's something for everyone.

Great experience every time. I have had a wonderful visit and fantastic food every time. Their Double burgers are the biggest, best burgers in town bar none and a great value. They offer fish, salads and chicken as well. Their hot dogs, burgers and onions rings remind me of good old fashioned summertime food.

Finding the best hot dog around is what our intrepid team of four is trying to do. We have a winner from round one - Hot Dog World - and a winner from round two - keep reading to see who it is. Once we're done with the preliminary rounds, an overall winner will be named. Dog Fight Round Two pitted The Great American Dog (808 Greenville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC) against Mr. Hot Dog (3749 Sweeten Creek Rd, Arden, NC). The Great American Dog was up first: Uber patriotic red, white and blue gives you a not-so-subtle hint these guys love their country. They also like to have fun. Take the hot dog guy out front, affectionately named Sean. A Loaded Dog (slaw, chili, sheese, mustard & grilled onions) is $2.09 by itself. Add the "hand cut" fries and a drink and the combo runs $3.29. Another look at the Loaded Dog : The Slaw Dog (slaw, grilled onions & mustard) sells for $1.89. And the Kraut Dog (heated kraut, grilled onions & spicy mustard) goes for $1.99. All the dogs at Great American are brou

My husband had been looking for an opportunity to try this place for years, based on the recommendation of his friends from work. We finally were in the right place at the right time & were able to give it a try. The restaurant was founded by a man from New York & brought his special recipes with him for a New York experience here in WNC. The food was excellent (for a hot dog place) and the service was very friendly & helpful. Restrooms were roomy & clean single stalls. The only problem was that it is the dog days of Summer & I don’t think the AC was on or working. We were so overheated that we left pretty quickly. Plenty of free parking & fun atmosphere.

You don't come here for the ambience. It is just some of the best seafood I've had in years! The scallops were sweet and succulent. The oysters also equally suberb.A must visit if you live seafood. I'm sure the hotdogs are great too!

We are in town for a small vacation and decided to give this place a try. Brilliant decision on our part!! The young lady that took our order was very nice. The guys at the grill seemed just glad to be there! 😊 I had the shrimp po' boy with zucchini fries, and my husband had the veggie burger and regular fries. They were made fresh to order and were delicious! The bread used with the po' boy was not a French baguette, but it worked so well. It was a grilled, thick hot dog bun. . .so tasty! The spicy mayo was on point, and the shrimp fried perfectly. The zucchini had a light batter on them and also fried perfectly. My husband really enjoyed the black bean burger. It looks to be made in house, is big, and seasoned well. The fries were thick-cut crinkle potatoes with skin on. Wouldn't be surprised if they cut them there, too. The slaw was really good, too. Made with onion, never had that before, but it works! We will definitely put this on our places to eat when in the area!

Best seafood in Hendersonville! Seriously! Get the Hendersonville dog if you want to eat an awesome hot dog! *Please forgive my picture! It's so good that I ate half of my food before realizing you'd like a picture! I'm telling you, you'll wolf it down so fast! It's amazing!

Stopped here after a trip to DuPont State Park. Service was quick. Lady at the counter was such a sweetheart. I got a Carolina hot dog and onion rings. 10 out of 10. Delicious! I highly recommend.

Me and the wife were highly disappointed I got a chicken tender sandwich plate and she got a slaw dog plate and it was 34.00!!!!!!! That was ridiculous it should have been cheaper for a hot dog chicken sandwich and onion rings there's gotta be something wrong wife's hotdogs was 4.39 and my chicken sandwich was 7.29 which means the onion rings and two drinks equaled 22.00 no way this should have been addressed but it literally let me know that would be the last time I would go and I would share this exp. With the 100000 that see my reviews

Reminiscent of a luncheonette/diner in a small strip mall on the outskirts of downtown Hendersonville. An acquaintance suggested that we give their seafood a try. They also serve hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken. My gal order the lobster roll and I had the full order of clams. Both orders came with tasty in-house made fries and coleslaw. The lobster meat was on a hot dog bun. It was fresh, tasty, chunky and not diluted with mayo or sauce. The clams were deep fried and were delicious. The only issue I had was the breading (and sometimes the clam) would break off as I was transferring it from the basket to my mouth. Some otherwise delicious pieces ended up on the floor! The seafood was fresh and reminded us of several dishes we had in Maine. So if one is looking for a New England seafood fix, it is worth trying. I did order a black coffee which tasted fresh but bitter. The bitterness diminished as the coffee cooled down, however. As usual, seafood prices are high and it is reflected in the price.
