I have dined here for breakfast few times, love the decor, typical diner ambiance.
Service is good but not exceptional.
Coffee is good.
This time I ordered the French Toast with a side of crispy bacon; the bacon was cooked to perfection, but the french toast was dried.
I will patronize this establishment again.
Amphora's Diner in Herndon, VA is a great diner.
There 3 main things I love about Amphora's:
#1) The selection - There are over 6 pages of menu items with many types of items including breakfast items, animal proteins, salads, baked goods, and others.
#2) The staff was very friendly, very attentive, and allowed me to customize my order to accommodate dietary restrictions.
#3) The diner is large and has a 1950's diner feel. Walking into Amphor's diner was a bit like walking into a time warp.
While a tad pricey, I can and will eat at Amphora's diner again.
This place is big and the acoustics make it very loud. Several styles of eggs Benedict i would suggest the Italian. Hollandaise sauce is homemade but bland. The home fries are really good. Service is good. The menu is huge
Breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place was half full, but our waiter showed up right after we were seated and was eager to take our order. Drinks were brought out immediately, and our breakfast was out in good time, hot and tasty. Everything was well cooked and tasted great. Everyone around us looked like they had the same fast and friendly service. We were on a bit of a schedule, and we were on our way in plenty of time. Highly recommend if you are in Herndon VA near Dulles airport.
By far the best place in the area for breakfast. There has been an Amphora's in the area for decades, with good reason.
The service is classic excellence. The servers are attentive without hovering.
The breakfast? I've yet the select an item that is less than great. And save room for their bakery. World class.
Really great food. I also really liked the atmosphere and the uniformed staff all wearing bowties. It was a nice touch.
Damn good, Homemade with a full bar.

We needed a good family restaurant off of the highway not too far from 28. My family had steak and eggs, omelette and bacon. I had the chopped sirloin dinner with mushroom gravy. Wow!!!!! It was fantastic. Please go here, it’s worth it. I highly recommend it. The waiter was so nice to me even though my son was very rude in my opinion.
For 5 years, I have consistently received World Class service. Continuously greeted with a smile and provided a menu with a plethora of cuisine options to explore. I have yet not to be surprised with a pleasant experience while dining in or taking out. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable and accommodating.If your with a friend, dinning alone, or with office mates, you will fit right in! I joined the Amphora's Rewards Club, because I trust in the Amphora Team! They are BIG on knowing their customers! Like I said, World Class you should experience!
GREAT little 50s style diner near the airport. A godsend when you're hungry late! So nice and friendly. Food very good and priced reasonable.
This is a remarkable place to stop and eat. We absolutely loved it!! A quiet but refined diner with delicious food and wonderful service. We came for dinner one evening and breakfast another day and were equally satisfied. The food is scratch made and they even have their own bakery and make cakes, cookies and pies. I loved the coffee too. All in all, this place is absolutely worth your time and business and I only wish we lived closer!!

I really like this place... Has an old school feel w/ out feeling outdated... When you walk in there is the big long pie display case...and it was full with ALL KINDS of FRESH pies, cakes and other goodies. The facility was clean, and smelled of delicious concoctions. We were seated promptly and provided service by a waiter who took 3 tables orders with not a pen, pencil, nor a single piece of paper in his hands.
And the order WAS dead accurate.
The bar, while small, had a very nice selection, the drinks were STRONG, they definitely are not shy w/ making you a good drink... Screwdriver for me.
The food was priced fairly. My wife enjoyed a waffle w/ country ham, and and egg w/ onion and green pepper mixed in. I had the home made sausage biscuit w/ egg & cheese.. This thing was CRAZY GOOD too my people.... Moist. All I can say... M.O.I.S.T.(mouth just watered thinking of it again.. lol!)
My brother is a simple man, be had Pancakes, eggs and sausage that he demolished, so it has to be good. The only complaint we had was the Cinnamon/Sugar French Toast really don't have much Cinnamon or sugar going on...
All in all a great experience, and we plan to go back for more late morning brunches. Easy 9/10 breakfast/brunch spot, and looking forward to patronizing this place again very soon.

Good food, Pancakes were a tad cold when arrived, Plenty of selections from the menu. Breakfast served all day.
Always solid food, and the service is the friendliest from everyone. Hefty portions, and tasty food!
This place has many excellent signature dishes. Right here you see the Chipotle omelet. Red peppers. Jalapeños. Mozzarella, Chicken. Marinara sauce. Absolutely delicious and nutritious!
They are open late. If you want homemade food then you need to come here.
Came here around 11p.m. after a long flight. First time trying.. this place is near the airport. Very quiet and clean. The menu is plenty to choose and confusing, it is going to be hard for people who are indecisive. Here I just wanna to say The shrimp pasta was great cause I love sour👍
Went with a Large group. The staff was very accommodating. The food was great and they were large portions.
1st time here, for a nice breakfast. Happily impressed at the quality food. Well seasoned. Excellent customer service. Will definitely come back and try either lunch or dinner
I don't remember much about living in Northern Virginia (I moved away when I was 6) but even as a kid I recognized how special Amphora was!
I couldn't think of a better place to eat after getting back from 18 hours of flying/layovers. Super close to Dulles airport, Amphora diner offers an amazing selection of good food to satisfy even the hungriest of travelers.
