I have passed by this place many times and finally decided to give it a try. Pleasantly surprised the overall experience. I asked for extra vegetables trying to be health conscious instead I just got a very big portion, period. I asked for reduced salt and sauce and they actually listened! When a meal at a fast food restaurant is easily $10, this freshly made dish for $15 is a great deal.
As a frequent customer here, the food and service has always been consistently excellent. The workers here are very kind and friendly. Their fried shrimp is consistently crispy and packs a ton of flavor. Their orange chicken is consistently tangy and sweet. For parties, they can carry out big orders. Additionally, everything on their menu is delicious and cooked with love. If you’re ever in Herndon, stop by Hunan Cafe. You won’t regret it!
The lady who took my order over the phone was very friendly and professional. I ordered from this restaurant for delivery before, usually, when I have contractors/technicians working at my house, and the service and food are consistently great. The dishes made with a brown sauce tasted very similar, probably because it's the same sauce, just different meat and vegetable combination. The food is not authentic Chinese, but it is pretty good for an American Chinese carryout establishments. They do use good size shrimp and scallops. The honey spare ribs were good, and my dogs like them. 😋🐕🐕 If I were to order next time, I will stick to the shrimp and broccoli, or a white sauce dish. The order was delivered with lots of sauces, paper plates, forks and fortune cookies. I like that the food was placed in plastic, tightly sealed containers. The delivery young man was very friendly and pleasant. He greeted me with a smile. I will definitely order from this restaurant again.
Got some catering from Hunan Cafe, everything was so fresh and delicious, definitely recommend if you're near the area

Their food is very good, and you get your money's worth! , the customer service always very friendly! I give it overall 4* because the fried spring rolls are so weird and creamy on the inside. I think this will be the last time I purchase them. But if you're in the area and you want some good food and good service, stop here and Enjoy!

This place is delicious. They were fast on delivery and were very generous. The serving size lets me have 2 days of the same meal. It was nice to know they make their food without MSG and use fresh vegetables. Maybe 3 years ago people experienced a different restaurant, but last night it was very good and had a lot of flavor. I got the General Tsaos (white chicken meat was visible, juicy), Crab Rangoons (they were filled), and a few other things. Their beef noodle soup is absolutely excellent.
Of the few the Hunan cafe locations in Nova I have been to snd ordered from, this location is my favorite for take out. Usually takes 15-20 minutes for pickup (of course this depends on the order). I give it a 9/10 for the crispy beef, I wish other locations would prepare theirs the same way. It’s so crispy and the sauce is great -might be a little sweet for some. Personally, I enjoy the sweet and spicy combination. I once ordered the peking duck. It was good but proportion wise it felt more like a snack. Love the Mongolian beef, but there tends to be more vegetable than meat. I will definitely be ordering more here in the future.
