First time at Tamales Mexican restaurant, numerous times for the in-laws. It did not disappoint. Starting with guacamole and fresh crispy corn chips to get in the mood. The presentations on all the plates were well thought out and not just plopped on the plate. My enchiladas with ground beef were well seasoned, and tasty to the last bite. Fish tacos were ordered and enjoyed by my wife. The Queso Fundito was very much enjoyed by my in-laws, ordered without the chorizos sausage. I’ll have to try it another time with the chorizos.

Absolutely wonderful staff, food and OMG key lime pie. The owner was around helping the workers and was the kindest gentleman ever. Worth the wait and I highly recommend stopping in!

I catered in a dinner for 10 from Tamales and it was absolutely amazing. I had some dietary concerns for some of my guests and Jeff did a fabulous job customizing my menu. The food was well packaged, timely and delicious! Jeff was a pleasure to work with and the food at Tamales was outstanding!
This place is amazing!!! The guacamole is obviously homemade. The margaritas are delicious and not to sweet. Had a pumpkin tamale for the first time and it was outstanding! The quesadilla was lovely. The owner Jeff seems to know all the clientele, and stops by every table. I know it sounds odd for a Mexican restaurant, but the key lime pie is to die for. We also had the flan, which was excellent. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It is a Must for Highland Park!!!!!

Went for lunch, sat outside. The owner was lovely and set up the tables just for us after the rain. The salmon burrito was delicious!
This was my first time here and it was the best Mexican food I ever had.I had a tamale for the first time it was excellent. My new favorite restaurant.
