this place has a great assortment of fish and shrimp that can be prepared (fried) for you. this was my first time visiting and overall i had a good experience. at the time of this writing I hadn't eaten the Whiting fish dinner as well as dessert (banana pudding) I purchased but if it (fish) taste half as good as it smells then this will be an awesome dinner!! i will be back again!
This is probably one of my top 2 or 3 fish places to order from. Definitely my favorite in the city. They're a little higher priced than other places, but I would also say they're a higher quality. Not too greasy and no old oil taste. Very polite. I will say it's not in the best area on Woodward if you're uncomfortable with walk up solicitations. Not open on Sundays. Highly recommend.
Oh my! I passed this place in Highland Park all the time. Even went to the Sav-a-lot that use to sit across the street. Which is gone now. I heard that their fish was good. But when I ate it, the perch particularly. That flavor was the bomb. Very delicious, even the steak fries were good! I would recommend this place to everyone I know. Certain fish stores fish taste gamey. That taste like it was from down south home cooking. Staff is very friendly and get your order to you in a timely manner. Store very clean and parking is very accessible.❤
Had a few issues in the past where I called my order in and had to wait another 15+ minutes for it. Lately, I haven't had any problems with my food being ready. Their prices are a little on the expensive side. I think the lb of shrimp is about $24. There food is very delicious though.
I frequent The Fresh Fish House because the food is cooked fresh per order and the fresh fish is reasonably priced. For example, the Jumbo shrimp deveined is only $5.99 a pound and you get approx 21-25 shrimp. ❤️
My boyfriend and I had Orange Roughy and Pickerel Dinners! Like the others stated, very VERY VERY—PRICEY!!! I was fussing and yelling at the cost, all the way home-mad as heck. I took one bite and couldn’t talk for about 15mins.. finished my food....fussed again! Still upset..Mad cause I can’t be Mad—the fish left me speechless! Our fish was fresh, not too salty, PERFECTLY fried and well worth the PRICE!! The ONLY CON I’d say is....you have to ASK FOR TARTAR SAUCE, we didn’t get any but the fish was just that good, we didn’t need the tartar anyway- that tells you something!
