This was such a treat to end our stay in Hilton Head. From the minute I made my reservation till we left we were showered with smiles, and that great Italian attitude of enjoying life. The staff truly made you feel like family, and their whole purpose was to make sure you enjoyed their food. Our waitress was so warm and friendly. She explained their menu, their wines and answered all our questions. I tried the Spaghetti alla Carbonara and my wife had a Ravioli Special. Our dishes were so perfectly made, the bar has been set to the universe. Gonna be hard to find any made better. And did I mention everything was reasonably priced. Next time we’re in town we’re not gonna wait till the last day to eat here.
Came for an early dinner and asked the server for recommendations. Without hesitation, he indicated the Chicken Parmigiano. The warm bread was very tasty with the dipping oil. The chicken was pounded very thin, was really tender, and it actually was the first food that I ever had that truly melted in my mouth. There is no need to consider anything else. Before exiting, I spoke with the hostess and two other servers and was told that for nearly an hour before opening, all you hear from the kitchen is Bang, Bang, Bang pounding of the chicken.
On my recent trip to Hilton Head Island, I discovered Gusto Ristorante and it was amazing. The dishes were so authentic, it felt like a culinary journey straight to Italy. If you're in the area and craving genuine Italian cuisine, this place is a must-visit.
May B is possibly the best server I’ve had in my dining life. The perfect balance of professional and personal, checks in regularly but not too much, very nice to my kids, and delivered excellent pasta. We will be going here for years to come.
Came in tonight for dinner, the three entrees ordered were delicious and pretty good portion, personally my girlfriend lucked out by ordering the lasagna it was the best thing we got. Abby our server was phenomenal and very helpful.
First time visiting Hilton Head . We where greeted so nicely. We didn’t have reservations but they fit us in . The Server Jasmine was awesome explaining the specials . We went for the specials Seafood Cannelloni and the Fish of the day Seabass . Really the food was exceptional , had the insalata di pera , had a glass of Old Vine Zinfandel also .
Highly Recommend Gusto . Caio
Wow! Amazing authentic Italian cuisine- complete with ambiance and our fantastic Sicilian waiter. The Shrimp pasta dish (wish I could remember its name!) was terrific.. light lemon, olive oil white wine sauce… Chicken marsala was so good! Chicken parmigiana completely delicious and lasagna romana was mouth watering. Highly recommend and hope someday we can come back to HHI to enjoy the sunrises and this restaurant! Bravo, Gustos!
Food was delicious! Jasmine was a great server and took great care of us. Really recommend the caprese, it was so refreshing!

Gusto is a 5 star experience every time we go. The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious and you can’t beat the service. We like to sit with Antonio in the bar or patio section and he always takes such great care of us! We have taken friends and family members here to dine when they visit and they have all enjoyed the food just as much as we do as regulars.
If I had to complain about one thing, it would only be that they are closed on Sunday!
We had a very nice meal with good service. The place was not very busy when we arrived for our reservation, but it did become packed by the time we left. The bread was excellent and the pasta was very fresh and tasty. The deserts were excellent as well. We will return on our next trip.
Needed a place for 16 people - called and they were very accommodating. The service, food and reception was amazing. Never been there before so I was waiting for my guests responses. Each one had a thumbs up for the food, service and accommodations. The appetizers, main course and specials, desserts and drinks were all excellent. Thank You for a Great Evening with my family. I will definitely return.
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! We went here with a group of 6 on a Bachelorette trip because the bride's favorite food is Italian! We were not only blown away by the food, but the friendliness of every single employee! They made us feel like family and we all shared dishes and there wasn't a single bad dish!! Will definitely visit again once we come back!
Great food and drink! Great service too!! Try the Spaghetti Carbonara. You won’t regret it.
Our experience was absolutely fantastic. Ashley was a wonderful waitress. So pleasant and took great care of us. I had the caprese salad and the veal piccata. My wife had the bolognese. To drink we had the Nebbiolo. Everything was exceptional. If I had room I would’ve ordered the profiteroles which are always a favorite. The owners and head chef are Italian so this is authentic cuisine. Having honeymooned in Tuscany, I can say this is really top notch quality Italian dining. Would highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back!
Hands down, the best Italian food on Hilton Head Island. Our family had dinner at Gusto on the last night of our week long vacation and it was the highlight of our trip. The food was so authentic and delicious. Every pasta dish was exceptional! My capellini with shrimp was to die for. Everything was very well seasoned and flavorful. Our server/bartender Antonio was such a pleasure.
He was very gracious and extremely knowledgeable about all the various dishes. The entire meal from the appetizers to the deserts was outstanding! We had our 1 year old granddaughter Amy with us and they all treated her like she was a member of their family. May, Antonio, and the rest of the staff made it such an enjoyable experience. We will always make this one of our stops, whenever we are in Hilton Head.
My wife and I visited Gusto Ristorante for dinner. We had read the reviews and decided this would be a great Italian venue for our date. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Mario who was as friendly and genuine as my own Italian relatives. The restaurant is cozy and inviting with views of the chefs as they create your dishes. Our waiter was very helpful while explaining the specials. My wife ordered the Mela salad with apples, almonds and strawberry vinaigrette. I had the Caesar salad with traditional anchovies. Both salads were presented well with great flavors. They were perfectly seasoned and dressed. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Capellini Positano and I had the Spaghetti with clams in red sauce. Again, presentation was perfect and the flavors are second to none. I had to tell Mario and his cousins( the chefs and owners) that pasta and clams are my favorite dish and Gusto's was probably the best I've ever had. Our dinner ended with a dessert of tiramisu that rivaled the best we have had even in Italy. It was light and full flavored but not over powered by the espresso. Our entire meal was pleasurable and outstanding. We felt like family and after many hugs and handshakes, we vowed to return when we visit again. If you want to feel like you are eating at nana's house for Sunday dinner, come to Gusto Ristorante for great food and a welcoming atmosphere! i migliori auguri e grazie.
Ossobuco was creatively cooked, delicious. The Chef deserves two thumbs up. Includes vegetables (carrots and zucchini) and mashed potatoes.
Chocolate desert (with cannoli in the center) was also delicious.
Toscano red wine was moderately priced and tasty.
Wait staff is top notch.
Ample parking.
Worth tracking down for a wonderful meal.
Cheers.
Quite possibly the best dining experience on the island! The food was insanely tasty and the service was incredible. We were warmly greeted by Mario when we walked in and as he showed us to our table, he really made us feel welcomed and how much they appreciated us coming in. We then received another warm welcome from our Italian-speaking waiter, Antonio, who provided us with a delightful experience throughout the evening. He gave great food recommendations and our wine glasses were rarely empty as he was extremely attentive...while also giving us privacy to enjoy our dinner. Their wine list was full of Italian and American selections with price points that would fit just about anyone’s budget. We went with a bottle of Red Schooner Voyage 8 (a Wagner Family wine) and started with the Bruschetta do Pomodoro, which was a perfect combination of chopped tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and basil. For our entrees, we ordered the Lasagna alla Romana & the Gnocchi Gorgonzola e Noci...both of which had an immense amount of flavor! Their dessert options looks great although we opted to have the rest of our wine for dessert...but not much longer after they took away the dessert menus, here comes Mario with a plate of two cannolis that looked incredible and he mentioned they were on the house. This made our incredible dinner even better as it was very unexpected. Every staff member here really goes the extra mile to make sure you have a pleasant experience and we can’t wait to come back!!
