Vanilla rum martini is awesome! Had shrimp tacos. Service wonderful. Staff friendly and atmosphere great. The option to sit in door or outside.
The food here is incredible! I highly recommend. We had carry out here during the pandemic two years ago and this was our first time dining inside. The food was delicious. The cornbread, shrimp tacos, sangria, fried chicken bowl, mahi bowl, salad with shrimp all GREAT. My wife, our teenagers, and my parents all highly enjoyed their food. The cornbread was so good we had three orders! Again, I highly recommend.
Big shout out to Claudia our waitress. She was phenomenal. All the best to her starting college!
They moved locations...now on Sea Pines property on Hilton Head. His location is considerably smaller and not as sports oriented. It has more of an upscale vibe...until you review the menu. Needless to say, the menu doesn't match. Burgers and tacos 🌮 but nothing too exciting. The food was good but I expected 😕 a little more.
The food and overall atmosphere here was impeccable. Kay was our sever and she could not have been better. From the moment we walked in she made us feel welcome and engaged in personalized conversations with us. She recommended we start with the chips and guacamole which I have to say was some of the best I have ever had. We then moved onto the tacos (fried chicken, steak, and grilled steak) which were all amazing! We also tried the tuna poke bowl which was super fresh and vibrant and had a great fresh taste. And the chow daddy burger which was cooked to perfection and had a great flavour profile. For dessert I have to recommend their ice cream sandwich. It comes out as two giant homemade chocolate chip cookies with some really amazing vanilla ice cream. Overall we could not have had a better experience and can’t wait to come back. And a special thank you to Kay for making our first experience a memorable one!
The atmosphere in here is really cool. We went for lunch and were not wowed by our entire meal. The beef and pork tacos were delicious while the chicken and fish tacos were just okay. The price for the sweet potato fry side was very expensive for the amount you get. Overall, would recommend this place for a fancier taco.
I have been on Hilton head island all week and I have to say hands down this has been the absolute best place we have eaten during our vacation. I'm not much on the typical tourist traps due to the fact that I also live in a vacation town. I don't see this place as the typical tourist trap. We pulled up, Walked right in, Seated with no wait. Our Server approached us almost immediately and was very friendly and informative. Her name was Trinity F. We asked her for recommendations and she was very knowledgeable of the menu. We had cocktails called "Vanilla Coke" and " Coco Margarita" both were amazing. We ordered two appetizers "Cornbread" and "Black bean dip" AMAZING! I ordered the "Fried Chicken taco" and my wife ordered the "Poke Bowl". My taco was delicious. She was not a huge fan of the poke bowl but again we live in a vacation town so it's hard to impress us with seafood that is not local to us. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice night out with great food and a relaxed environment.
Ate at Chow Daddy’s by the lighthouse for dinner & can not say enough good about this place. I had the Trippy taco salad + pulled chicken & raspberry tea & my husband had the fish tacos and we both were raving about our food. Our waitress was super kind and gave great recommendations! Our only complaint was that the outdoor dining was beautiful, but there were flies swarming our food, so we spent most of our time eating and shooing flies away, but to no fault of the restaurant. Great food, we will definitely be back next time we are in town.
Went during happy hour on a Tuesday. We were the only people sitting at a table, with only a few people at the bar when we went in. The decor was nice, stylish, and they had some really cool overhead lights. If it had been warmer we might've chosen to sit outside. I can see it being a big draw during the summer months.
Our server seemed kinda new... she didn't introduce herself, and didn't seem well versed on the menu. She read us her notes of the specials, but when we asked what the rail whiskey was she had to go ask. When she came back she told us some of the whiskeys and bourbons that they had, but not what the rail was (which was on special during happy hour). When she finally came back and told us the well whiskey, I asked for a tall double whiskey ginger, and my mom asked for a bourbon ginger ( which is pretty much the same thing, but different sizes. Ya know. ) but she brought us the same sized glasses....I was suspicious and asked to make sure that mine was a double, and she confirmed, but when I tasted it, it was definitely not a double...I asked her to go to the bartender and make sure, and he ended up remaking it as a tall double like I had originally asked for. Which was good, and it's an easy mistake for an inexperienced server, but took away from the whole experience. She also didn't explain the food in great detail, but we ended up picking spicy shrimp tacos (we asked if they were hard or soft tacos, and she told us they were made with cornmeal and flour. Surprise tacos?) , the poke bowl, and the grilled salmon. The tacos ended up being soft, surprisingly fresh tasting, with a nice kick to them, and satisfying. The poke bowl was incredible, with avocados, mangos, mint, rice, tuna, cabbage and an delicious sesame dressing. It's on the more expensive side for the salad options, but so worth it. The salmon was also great, with light seasoning to really show off the flavor of the fish, and a great flavor to the rice. During the meal, my mom tried to switch to one of the happy hour beers, but ended up going to the bar and talking to the bartender because the server wasn't sure of the options and styles. Again, not a big deal to us. We thought about dessert, but they only offered homemade ice cream, which looked good, but we weren't in the mood for. Overall, delicious and fresh and fair priced food, and the experience would've been 5 stars if our server had been trained better. Would still definitely come back again, because our food was great and the other options all looked delicious.
Plesantly surprised. The bowls are awesome, I had the grilled chicken and my hubby had the Coconut shrimp bowl. Yum! Good coffee too. The only minor negative was my chicken was a bit more salty than I would usually eat. Our server Alejandro was a very good server and charming too. Oh, also loved the decor and music. Thank you.
Upscale place for burgers & tacos. The smell from the wood smoker was a little overwhelming at first but not unpleasant. Seating is small (<40 inside) & a little tight. But food was really good. Our group enjoyed the bacon & cheddar burger as well as the pulled chicken tacos.
Our first time to visit the new location at Sea Pines Center. We had chips with quacamole and queso and they were outstanding! Then we shared the American Burger, one of the best we have had on Hilton Head! If Dan and Carlos are there, we will enjoy wonderful service! The beer was cold and the Sangria was delicious!
HOLY COW, literally best burger EVER! I am one that likes to try the burger at various locations. I love a good hamburger. I now have to say this made it to my #1 favorite. I got the Cojita Burger with no lettuce. I love lettuce, but not a fan of it on my burger. The blend of the peppers, cheeses, the perfect meat combo and the bread (normally I don't eat bread, but in this case it was a must and so worth it). Not only was the burger great but our waitress was filling in from their other restaurant and did a fantastic job. They just had a table of 30 come in and she was very efficient and helpful. Very cool atmosphere too.
We ate here for the first time during our most recent trip to Sea Pines. If you’re staying in Sea Pines, I would highly recommend you bike over to Chow Daddy’s for dinner. It’s a smaller restaurant but they were able to seat our family of five right away, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Crayons for the kids, a nice drink section, and plenty of out-of-the-ordinary taco and burger options. It ended up being one our favorite dinners on vacation!
I was genuinely surprised! With a quick glance at the name and the menu, I thought it was a bit more casual. However, the restaurant is small but intimate with indoor and outdoor seating options. We started with a cold beer and the corn dip, both amazing after coming off the beach. For our main course, I got the spicy shrimp tacos and my wife ordered the steak tacos. Both were to die for! I’d recommend Chow Daddy’s over Salty Dog. Plus, no wait!
Excellent food and even better service!! We are on vacation with family. We made our dinner reservation online (super easy process). We arrived early and were seated immediately. Matt helped us make our dinner picks. We started out with the poblano queso and street corn. We followed that with spicy fish tacos, crispy fish tacos, roasted veggie bowl and the fried chicken bun. The kid's menu can be peanut and gluten allergy friendly. Our kiddo had chicken and cheese quesadillas on corn tortillas with fries (sunflower oil). Would definitely recommend this spot!
We stopped at Chow Daddy’s on our way into HHI. The environment was very cute! The food was very good. The tortillas seemed to be a smidge under cooked but they were still very yummy! The service was friendly too very slow. It might just have been a staffing issue that evening. We enjoyed everything and would recommend!
I got the chicken tacos and they were very yummy!
