I've been wanting to try Marley's Shrimp and Burger Shack for some time, and my wife and I finally got around to it on a recent lazy Sunday afternoon. Marley's is a walk-up outdoor establishment with lots of patio seating with shade provided. The setting is nice and, weather cooperating, is a very pleasant environment to enjoy a casual meal. The person at the counter taking my order was very nice, and our food was ready in about ten minutes. I found the service to be friendly and efficient.
So, what about the food? It was good! I ordered a basket that included grilled scallops, fries, slaw, and a couple hushpuppies. My wife ordered a Quinoa Salad consisting of quinoa, cabbage, pineapple salsa, tomatoes, carrots, corn, cucumbers, balsamic vinaigrette, and lettuce blend. She shared a bite with me and if you're a fan of quinoa, you'll probably enjoy this salad. The veggies and quinoa provided an interesting texture while the balsamic vinaigrette added a punch of flavor to the salad.
My caution is to go to Marley's with proper expectations. This is a casual, outdoor, counter-service place. Don't expect linen tablecloths and a roving violinist as you dine. And the food is good, but don't expect a $60 meal for a $17 price. But if you're looking for a fun place to ride your bike for a seafood or burger lunch, Marley's Shrimp & Burger Shack should be on your short list.
If you are looking for good food and great service this is the place to go. Service with a smile, great energy and nice outdoor seating. A pleasant change of pace in a world where customer service is a dying breed. Definitely will be back! Thank you for a great experience.

The shrimp burger is a must with the aioli sauce. Delicious, light, yummy. The perfect meal. And sitting outside was nice they have the perfect breeze going through.
A must to try. You’ll definitely be back.
The service was amazing also.
Undeniably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! I was full after one, and I honestly about went back to buy a second one just to taste it again.
Do yourself a favor, GO!
(Also their big chili dog is a force to be reckoned with, dang was it good!)
This place has amazing smash burgers! Overall: excellent, quick, and friendly service, tasty food with good prices, and a nice location with outdoor seating available. They also have ice cream which is a big plus!
I definitely recommend eating here for lunch or dinner!
REAL FOOD - NOT tourist food!! We haven't been to HHI in a few years and we're SO happy that Marley's food is still here!! During our 10 day stay we've eaten here THREE TIMES. I alternate between the double cheeseburger made with quality meat and the fried (local) shrimp.
The GM Sean is usually on duty and doing a great job helping his staff put out delicious high-quality food. Morgan took our order and provided topnotch customer service and a cheerful smile. This place is THE REAL DEAL.
BTW They ARE open on Sunday although Google says otherwise.
Good local fried food spot. The setting/outdoor vibe is welcoming.
On my first visit I tried the jumbo chicken tenders, which are large flat pieces of chicken...it felt fresh and was pretty good.
On my second visit I tried the burger. Hand formed patty and hand cut fries both were hot and fresh. The potato bun was soft.
Most people were ordering shrimp/other fried foods and really enjoying.
Plenty of parking and right off the bike trail. Order at the window (outside), then they call your name to pickup at the window.
The Smash burgers and lobster roll were delicious. The lobster roll had larger pieces the last time we visited 2 years ago, but was still very tasty and overall a lot of lobster. The fries were burnt, soggy, and cold. They looked like they were sweet potato fries they were so dark. Service and people were great though and I didn't bring up the fries issue as was takeout and already home..

Came for a long weekend, tried Marley’s for the first time and loved it so much that we went back a second night! Fried shrimp was lightly battered & crispy… some of the best we’ve had! Hush puppies were amazing!!! They were a little sweet and extra crispy. The guy who took our order was super nice & remembered us from our first visit. It’s a walk up counter & outside dining but they do have fans in case it’s a little warm. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip!
We learned about Marley's via a 2022 vacation planner about Hilton Head Island. Their magazine layout was able to draw our attention and as tourist to the area we opted to try them out for lunch.
Monday's include a $6.00 burger special, which is a good value for the area. I wasn't as concerned about the prices for this visit, but most adult meals will cost $10 or more. Kids meals run about $8.00 per individual.
The restaurant does not have indoor dinning; however, this is probably not a problem for year round dinning in South Carolina. There was plenty of outdoor seating though. Window service for ordering was pretty reasonable. We ordered and received our meals in less than 10 minutes.
Had the lobster roll and a beer. Enjoyed the location and atmosphere for a casual lunch.
Great spot! Ordered the fried shrimp basket with fries. The fried shrimp were fried perfectly. Good batter. Fries were delicious. So much food! The sweet tea was awesome. And the service was so quick!
Wow, what an incredible surprise. This has jumped to the top of my must visit list. Absolutely excellent food: the shrimp chowder is a pretty unique specialty around here, everything fried was perfect (especially the boardwalk fries), and the hush puppies were some of the best I've ever had -dare I say, even better than Salty Dog or Crazy Crab's. It's cramped inside, but for me that adds to the charm. This place has Guy Fieri vibes for days. Will be back next year!
Spicy shrimp app was fantastic. Oyster po boy and flounder were very good as well. Stood and waited to place order for 10 minutes even though it was not busy. Staff was not very friendly or helpful.
One of the best blackened sandwiches I have ever had. All the food we had was really good. I will return again. The woman who took our order stayed open for a few extra minutes to get us our food. I truly appreciate that after a long day for her and my family.
The food here was absolutely delicious. We ended up coming back a couple of days to have some of the best shrimp in the area. The prices were also very good. I have great frozen lemonades for adults or for children. The staff was extremely nice. The guy who took care of us his name was Sean and was just extremely nice. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick bite. And you have to try the hush puppies
