I have been wanting to go here for quite awhile! Every time we pass it I just thought it looked so nice. My boyfriend (now fiancé) brought me here for a surprise dinner and proposed! Not only was the food amazing and decently priced (especially for the quality!), but the staff was so kind. They even helped my fiancé coordinate the proposal very last minute! Highly recommend- excellent food, excellent service.
Very big place nice atmosphere. The waitress Jennifer was very nice and on point. I had the stake and it was ok I could have done without the stake sauce. Wife had chicken pop pie she liked it 👍🏼.
I don't usually gush about restaurants, but I'm going to gush about this one. The food was delicious, including some rarely seen items - I got marrow-butter with my steak - absolutely delicious 😋.
The decor is American Colonial as befits a Tavern. We had seats in front of a roaring fireplace. It was great. The foods not cheap however, but it is excellent 👍.
We had dinner last night for my friend's birthday, and she had heard positive comments from her friends who had been there.
Jen was our waitress and she was very responsive and made suggestions when we asked.
I had the tuna tartare which was a large portion for an appetizer.
My friend had the baked Westfield Farms goat cheese appetizer which was also a generous portion and tasted great!
I had the $10K tuna which was recommended by Jen, and I loved it.
I told my friend that the crispy potato crusted haddock had rave reviews online and she ordered and thought that it was terrific.
I asked Jen to bring a dessert with a birthday candle for my friend, which she did.
The restaurant has a cozy and a welcoming atmosphere and for a Wednesday night, the parking lot was full.
We were seated in the bar because we did not have a reservation, and the table was fine.
We will come again!
Thank you so much for a wonderful meal!
Love the menu. Simple yet there is something for everyone and the chef puts care into every meal. One of the best steaks I’ve had on the south shore. The wait staff is very friendly, informative, and accommodating
Very quaint tavern. We wanted to sit inside because the place is so charming but it was a perfect 60° day and we decided on the patio. There are heaters if it gets chilly on the patio. All cons protocols are being adhered to. $5 for a Heineken was super reasonable. My wife was her Cosmos were delicious. Large menu. Lots of seafood and steak choices. Wife loved her clam chowder and lobster roll. I got a pizza and onion rings. Neither were anything special but I blame myself for not getting steak tips with my choice of two sides. They have a ton of sides. They have lots of parking available. Next time I am going to sit inside just to enjoy the ambience. You should definitely check this place out! Before I forget... you may want to consider reservations. They open at 12 and we had a reservation for that time. I couldn’t believe how many people were there for opening time. Glad I planned ahead.
We have driven by this restaurant a few times so we thought we'd give it a try for lunch. We looked at some of the reviews, which seemed to be a hit or miss. We sat at the bar. Jen, the bartender, was great. She answered all our questions. The drinks were good.
I had fresh oysters. They were delicious. We also tried the beef short rib gnocchi. It was very good, but the beef was a little salty.
My husband had the 10 oz filet and I had the steak frites. Both were cooked to perfection. The bone marrow butter on the steak frites was fantastic. My husband had the mashed potatoes, which were also a little salty and asked for green beans which are not on the menu.
Overall, we really enjoyed our meals and atmosphere.
Had the bone in rib eye and the spicy tuna tar tar. Wow, very very tasty. The entire menu is so good it was hard to decide what to order.
