Review Maya Mexican Restaurant - Homewood

Wife said she wanted something different so I started looking for a restaurant in the are we were going to be. Found this place and thought we would give it a try. The atmosphere was charming and inviting. The staff we warm and welcoming as we walked in. Our serve was patient and even offered some suggestions when asked. We each tried something new and different. I had the spicy burrito and my wife has the chicken fajita salad. Both were excellent choices. Mine was not overly spicy but well seasoned and delicious. Lucky for me my wife could not finish all Hera and I helped with the rest. I have never considered a salad like this, but let me say it was amazing. I ate everything and even scraped up all the lettuce just to get the very last bit. The vegetables and chicken were seasoned so well and they had such a pleasing flavor and taste. This place is out from where we normally run, but next time we are in the area we will definitely return. I was so very pleased, and I know you will be too.

Service was good, especially the host. Food was decent. Salsa was meh...not straight tomato sauce but close . Standard margaritas are neon green from a machine (yuck). Very clean...witnessed a server cleaning each menu. Would get 5 stars for better salsa and margaritas.

Honestly my favorite Mexican place in the city. Good portions of food, exceptional drink prices, nice staff, and a clean restaurant is just a delight. Genuinely cannot recommend this place enough, especially if you're looking for close to authentic Mexican in this area.

Absolutely delicious food, I got the Pollo loko and my cousin got the chicken fajitas, both excellent quality food and the service was fantastic. Definitely a bit busy but it was Friday night so it was expected. Definitely coming back soon!!

This place is always hit or miss. I think it's safe to say we're cutting this one off our list after our last visit. The server kept speed walking past our table, he managed to avoid taking our order for 22 minutes. There were 3 tables in all and 2 servers. The only thing we managed to get was a sprite and margarita. We don't know what was going on. We let the manager know on the way out that we were paying for our drinks and going because our server had better things to do then service tables. He laughed and made an excuse for the server. Also you get better quality food on the weekends because they change out the pre-made food more often than weekdays. Anyhow after 8 visits this place is a no.

Very lovely atmosphere. Was welcomed immediately by the owner when I walked through the door. Great staff and the food was delicious.

Best decision! We could have went to Walmart buy and cook what we wanted but for. The variety, PRICE, convenience, quickness, quality and quantity, it was BEST to eat out! WE ARE SO HAPPY WITH OUR CHOICE AND YOU WILL BE TOO! When I say fast I mean fast, not rushed just attentive. I barely had time to take pictures lol! It was wonderful, we walked in and we were immediately greeted, we said two and she who greeted us also seated us. She picked the perfect booth! As SOON as We were seated she was back with warm chips and salsa for the table. After that our waiter came and got our drink order. Lucky for us we already knew what we wanted to order. She leaves and in the time it takes to walk to the bar and back she had our drinks ready... I needed a minute, to look over the menu (to take pictures of the menu lol), and then we ordered. I think all in all the most time between any action was my need for pictures, otherwise overall experience was friendly, fast and delicious! Food was beautifully plated. The Quesadilla tortilla was to die for like definitely unique light and buttery. My tacos were stuffed and one was filling, I took the rest Togo. All in all we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves, decompress from work and sit out the traffic, then we realized it's only been 30 minutes!? That's freaky fast service and we are more than grateful. We highly recommend! Service was amazing years ago (we cook more than we eat out) and today was no different it wasn't yet crowded but it felt comfortable and again the service will make you feel like you are the only table that matters, yet I saw her attend to multiple. Kids of all ages are welcomed here. Let's not forget the affordable ticket total for two was only $25! we will be back soon. For the saving likely once a week.

The fajita quesadilla was delicious, and the salsa great-- the perfect amount of spice Very attentive service. We will be back!
