Reviews Ono Seafood

Ono is one of my favorite poke shops in all of Hawaii. They serve up the freshest tasting fish with all the flavors you crave. The shop has won a few awards and been around for a while but the quality is still there since the first time I visited a few years ago. Inside, the area is small. You order your bowl at the counter, then the poke is mixed fresh for you. Each poke bowl comes with a free soda or juice (though it’s probably included in the price already). The container does feel on the smaller side but the serving of fish is plenty and does leave you full after. Outside, there are a few tables to eat at and they have their own small parking lot if you can get a spot. Overall, this place is close enough to Waikiki but out of the main hustle and bustle that you’ll want to come over and over!

Whenever we're in Waikiki, we try to visit Ono Seafood. I still remember the first time we visited... we must have walked by it a couple of times before actually spotting it set back from the road. The signage is more noticeable nowadays but it's still a bit of a hole-in-the-wall. We've tried their other poke before but our fav is the ahi. And while the poke goes well with rice, we try to just get the poke by itself now (can't afford to get too filled up on rice when you can eat more poke). We got the Hawaiian style ahi poke, spicy ahi poke, and shoyu ahi poke on our last visit on April. Still one of the best places to get poke in the area.

This is a take-out only place with a few tables outside and tight parking. Poke had great flavor, but the portion just didn't seem to fit right with other places. There are other great places just down the street to grab something similar at a comparative cost.

Delicious and fresh tasting poke bowls! Slightly more expensive than I was expecting, the prices are based on market price so when we got one bowl, it was $17. The bowl comes with a small drink. There are also limited seats in the shared dining tables. There is a free parking lot but spots are limited.

Very fresh and tasty! Wasabi ahi and spicy salmon both delicious! (Sorry that I ate half already…) Small place to order food and few bench seats outside. Limited parking so we parked at the Safeway and walked here. Worth the walk! :)

We just got poke without rice. Still delicious and fresh. A small area for eating out the store. We walked there from our air bnb and I think it was worth it.

Today we stopped by Ono and got three bowls. Really enjoyed the poke as the fish was fresh and wasn’t full of chewy sinews. One of the cool things about this spot is that they serve salmon poke too. Aside from that, the flavors have been relatively consistent with other good spots as they all use similar sauces (shoyu, spicy mayo, etc). They offer a beverage with each bowl, except the coconut water, and they offer niche beverages. Also be aware that there's only outdoor seating and it's quite limited with two tables and one long counter.

The quality of the fish is top tier! Some of the best poke I've ever had, even though I wasn't crazy about the flavour I ordered. I'll be getting the salmon next time, if you're in Oahu, do yourself the favor and stop by this place!

The best poke bowl we have ever had in Hawaii, shoyu a-hi & wasabi a-hi is a must. Also got a complementary drink while ordering bowl set. There’s two free parking space in front of the store, or you can park at the nearby streets - lots of spaces.

**Visited on Wed, Aug 30 at 3PM I can see why this place is famous. The ahi tuna is phenomenal! Highly recommend! Just a tiny hole in the wall with limited outdoor seating.

Good and fresh fish. We ordered #3 Hawaiian Style Ahi and #1 Shoyu Ahi. The amount of fish on poke bowl is on the smaller side. But if you are in the area definitely give this place a try. Both parking and seatings are limited, best to order then take to go.

The poke bowls here are delicious. We got the spicy ahi, shoyu ahi, and some drinks. They even have brown rice but it was sold out for the day. Some of the best Poke we had in Honolulu. No wonder this place is pretty popular. Parking is pretty scarce and there are only 2 benches. Highly recommend coming here if you’re visiting!

Definitely one of the best poke I had in Honolulu. You get to pick two flavours of poke with a free drink for a combo. The spicy ahi and wasabi ahi are my favourite. The rice itself is fluffy and chewy with perfect warmth. The fish is fresh and flavourful with a nice spicy kick.

The food was so so so great ! The ahi tuna was fresh ! The place is tiny and you may easily miss it. Parking is tough and have to park in a neighboring plaza and we have to “buy something” from the shops there to use their parking before going to Ono . It’s self service with limited menu but very good food. Outside limited seating.

Small fish market serving fresh, delicious poke. One drink included with poke order. We got the Hawaiian style ahi poke, wasabi ahi poke, and miso ahi poke. Also lomi lomi salmon as a side. They have limited seating outside the store, and small parking lot but people come and go very fast.

Very delicious poke. Really wanted the spicy salmon but by the time I arrived, it was sold out. Tried to shoyu ahi and it was absolutely delicious! Grab and go kind of place. No nice area to sit
