If you love Japanese food this place is where you have to be. They have the best udon noodle and tempura. Came here twice on the trip to Honolulu. Price and quality of food is great. Clean restaurant
Refreshing to buy beer at excellent prices! $2-$3 for individual beers; $6-$8 for pitchers! Then you can walk around with your beer as you decide on what to order. Lots of choices. Ended our meal with the Diamond Head puff cakes. Omgee!! That alone will bring me back. Beer prices too!
I went to Shirokiya at Ala Moana center a year ago. I loved this place, I drank a lot of 1$ bud light beer with my school's friends (Academia language school) Thank you José for the trip at Shirokyia, it was so good xoxo

10/12/17 It was my first at shirokya village walk, it brought back great memories of my tour to Japan in the 80's on the honch picking out a place to catch a movie and a meal and booze it up til the sun came up, you had your favorite ones, this is a great place I'll definitely will be going back to SHIROKYAs
Amazing selection of asian cuisine all in one place. Over 20 vendors to select from AND for those who indulge in beer, they had $1 beer.
This place reminded me of the restaurant floor of a Japanese department store (which gives it authenticity points). The $1 beers with any $10 purchase was definitely the highlight.
The food itself is honestly nothing special and a bit overpriced, mostly packaged in take out containers. There was a decent selection of entrees and desserts, though. It seems like a great place to get some food and drinks with friends.
So gave this 5 stars because I stayed almost 2 hours. From the 3 dollar beers, to the array of food selection, to the pristine bathrooms!!! Not sure if I was more impressed by the bathrooms or just the friendliest food servers I was met with. Definitely must visit when on the island.

Great place to try a variety of Japanese food, although some of them are owned by Chinese or other nationalities. Price is reasonable and the serving size is quite generous. If you like Japanese beer, the centre beverage shop offers $1 per glass on tap.
If we had a place like this in Seattle, I would be the fattest person you know. It's a food court like area with so many shops that I got confused where I was multiple times. Theres something for everyone and even though some things might be a little pricier, it's definitely worth it. My husband had some black garlic tonkatsu ramen, and I had a veggie tempura bowl, both amazing and reminded us of japan itself. We also tried some malasadas, which looked and tasted astounding, and some classic japanese side dishes which reminded me of what my own japanese grandmother used to make. I would be here every night for dinner if i could.
Cheap beers ($1 promos, $2 Heineken, etc.), great quality food, and alot of choices on food. Be sure to take a quick lap around to see all the different vendors before choosing what to eat. Dont forget about the couple of dessert spots which are amazing. The line for the beer can get long but it moves quick. This has a street style feel to it but with the comfort of A/C and shade. This is a definite must visit as the beer is cheap, the food is reasonable, and the quality is excellent.
How can ypu skip this place when in Honolulu. Located inside Ala Moana, this japanese food village is a must to go. Theres a bit of ramen collections which many of them are really good and not to forget the $1 beer... So many other things to try too from softserve, okonomiyaki, japanese curry, and more. Soo oishi!!!
Lot of foods, reasonable price, $1 beer ohyaa. Entrance is on the ground floor parking garage under the Bloomingdale's department store. Not easy to find, but its treasure when you do.
This is a bustling food marketplace that gives you an immersive Japanese cuisine experience with so many options, including tepanyaki, sashimi, sushi, tempura, ramen, udon, musubi, poke, okinomiyaki, gyoza, and more. Prices are reasonable, especially their beer which we did not have but we saw many people enjoy them. We went back a few times and could have gone back many times more!
Lots of food and beverage items to choose from. Entrees, beverages, sweet treats. Beer, wine. Reasonanly priced. Free parking. Usually crowded. Loud. Difficult to carry on conversations.

Marion crepes both savory and sweet were delicious. Very popular chain in Japan.
Yoshida Meats has nice variety of katsu...I ordered one of everything :) The croquette is actually mashed potatoes with ground pork...yum! Minced beef and pork katsu has onions, very flavorful. Chicken karaage was very tender. Pork and chicken katsu are pretty standard. Decently priced.
Lastly, there was a Korean combo of meats with kimchi and rice.
Lots of food stalls! Many Oriental, but also bakeries, crepes, local foods. Lots of tables and seating, a very nice bathroom. Prices can be a bit high for fancy stuff, but can still find good, moderate priced food also. Parking on that end of the mall can be tight, but there's more around the corner or upstairs. Along the beach side there is a Japan Quality shop where you can get stationary and pens, popular toys and anime themed items, and the old Shirokiya staple holiday gift, Yoku Moku cookies. Fun!
There's a lot of different food vendors you can try here. They also have small gift shops. They have $1.00 beer here too for those that enjoy drinking.
Located on the first floor of the shopping mall. We tried the gyozas because we saw that they made it fresh there.
Great abundance of Japanese food and the decor was enjoyable. Came here a few times and enjoyed the tasty ramens, deserts and curry katsu. Recommended for affordable and tasty Japanese eats.

Love the diversity of food, drinks, and little games (in the back)! Seems like there are a lot of businesses that come and go, but this gives opportunities for businesses to flourish and get some air-time. I love the ramen places and the beer garden - amazing. Wish they'd make the music softer sometimes because its loud enough and it makes it harder to hear each other talk.
Cheap and cheerful food. Beer is extremely cheap and a good selection. Would definitely recommend and go again, which I have on many occassions

As soon as we got there, we played the gacha thing they had, and I have to admit, I got a little out of hand with it lol! Just the suspense of not knowing how much each ticket inside the capsule was gonna be worth. So you buy a token (which is $5 each), and choose a machine you want to use it on. The tickets can range from 5-100. After you're done, you can go back to redeem them at the counter you bought the tokens from. There is a huge variety of prizes you can trade for, too bad I didn't get any pictures though. There are also some food shops and the stationary store that you can spend your tokens at, which is great!
We ended up going to the Gourmet Plaza Japan (if that's what it's called) to get an early dinner. Food was good. Only thing docking it it from 5* to 4* is that some of the workers (where we ordered our food from) were making it a bit uncomfortable to be around; acting very unpleasant, especially since they were in work attire, whether they were on the clock or not. So we just ate and moved on to a different spot. Ended up at Marion Crepes for dessert, and yum! But too much azuki beans in mine for my taste.
ALSO! On Sunday's, kids 12 and under get a free token to use on the kiddie machines, which I think is really great ^_^
The food court is constantly changing. I didnt want to eat too much since it was so close to dinner. So instead of food, I decided to get dessert. Ice cream to be more specific. Charmy is one of the newer stalls. they have only two types of ice cream, vanilla and pineapple. All the toppings are chocolate or cookies. I decided to go big and get the $17 cone. Was it worth the $17? Probably not. BUT in terms of cuteness it was worth it. if not for the photo opt alone.
the nice thing is you can start off with a plain cone and then add toppings to personalize it just for you. it was super fun and the icecream was pretty good.
