This burger was by far one of the best burgers that I have ever eaten. The meat was very lean and I was stuffing after eating so much. Definitely recommend everyone visit here. Also our server was very nice and took care of us the whole time. Wonderful service!
Friendly staff, good food with lots options, and they have the best milkshakes on Oahu. You are not going to find a better burger place on Oahu.
The impossible burger is aptly named. All of the normal burger ingredients were fresh and delicious, but the actual non-meat burger itself greatly exceeded my expectations. It tasted and felt just like meat. If you don't like veggie burgers, you'll love this one, as it really does seem impossible.
Great wine, food, and service! It's a nice place to stop when you are shopping or just out and about.
Food was great, too expensive but worth it. Would come back again one day.
I'm from Boss Angeles, so you know I've had some good burgers. I gotta say, they make some of the best burgers I've ever devoured. They food is bomb!!!! Shots were fat too. Service was good. The only thing is, where are their customers? I must have visited during a slow moment. Maybe they need some disco lights in here or something. If you like to become one with your meal, this is the place.
Great service, delicious burgers!
He took me here since he liked it and I had yet to try it. The service was fast and our server gave us some recommendations on items to try. We chose the build your own burger (vegan) and nashville chicken, as well as the cauliflower wings appetizer.
Everything was so tasty! Fresh ingredients and didn’t need to wait long to get our meal. The cherries tomatoes were forgotten in my burger, but everything was yummy so I hadn’t even noticed. Cauliflower wings have fresh herbs which is a nice touch. We look forward to eating here again!
My first time ever coming to The Counter Custom Burgers and I can say, it surely will not be my last. I reviewed 4 of their signature sandwiches and all of them did not disappoint. My favorite sandwich that I en(Counter), pun intended, was the Bison Is Gouda burger. It was everything that I was hoping that it would taste like. Yes, it was more overcooked than what I asked for, but maybe the cooks feel it would have been better mid-well over mid-rare. But, I seriously still enjoyed every bite that I taken from this burger. If I could give it six stars I would.
Now the one thing I had some disappointment in and i mean some disappointment, was the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. It didn't have the hotness that I was looking forward to. I love me some hot foods and if you going to say Nashville Hot, I would like for the restaurant to make sure they know how hot Nashville Hot really should be before serving it. And secondly, make sure that the chicken is already smothered in that Nashville Hotness before serving to the customer. If you were trying to protect us from extreme hotness 🔥, there's no need to do so.
All in all, I will definitely keep coming here for my bison 🦬 burger fix for sure!!!
My coworker highly recommended this place and I'm so glad he did. It's always nice to have a high-quality burger joint on your rolladec. Make sure you add this one to your bucket list.
It's a fun time creating your own burger! Just know what flavors you like, then mix together as a burger. A little wait is worth the quality of the food ❤️ i had the smores shake & oooh it was delicious! Sweet potato fries were cold when it got to me. However, I didn't mind because I love sweet potato fries! On the (2) make your own burgers + (1) shake + (1) drink, the total was about $60. So it'll be pricy if you want to create your own rather than what's already on the menu.
I love a good burger, and this was perfection. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the modern, clean look the restaurant has.
As always, very tasty food that’s served incredibly quickly! The Bacon BBQ Burger had deep fried shoestring onion rings that were delightful! The bbq sauce was sweet and tangy.
Honestly, my wife had the Teriyaki burger and after one bite of that, I wish I had gotten that burger instead! Yum!
We have leftover fries for days, which I’m not complaining about :)
The counter, for a first time visit with friends, we all decided to come here.
It was a very good experience. I got to try bison meat! And it was very good! :) I liked it.
You can create your own burger, or even a salad. I went with making a burger salad.
But none the less. It was a good choice between friends to come here and enjoy a meal. :3
The new check in process was smooth. I ordered the minis. They had a great flavor. The chicken chili was chunky and tasty. As always the sweet potato fries were my favorite. The dipping sauce works so we'll. Liz's chicken bacon ranch was just massive.
Omg- so good! I had the bison burger and it was mouth watering delicious. I’m also gluten free and LOVE the gluten free options! Service was quick, attentive, and very friendly/personable. Definitely going to be making this a regular spot!
So many years we only ate across from The Counter and I wondered how their food was. Now that I have eaten there, I chiled myself OMG I should have eaten there years ago! Great service, better than great meal! The choices were almost limitless and serving portions enough for two meals. In fact, I only ate half the burger 🍔 and just a few of the shoestring sweet potato fries, and needed a to-go box which I ate for dinner. I didn't even finish the full glass of soda that I was served. Definitely will come back to try more combinations!
I saw this place on Instagram and really wanted to go, so we did. It was good, and the base price of the burgers are fine, but there’s a ton of little things that cost quite a bit. I have pictures of our burgers and my husband’s drink (which was this really good berry lemonade, but also was expensive), but I forgot to get a picture of my mint milkshake. The milkshake was good, but not $8.25 good. Overall, good food, but not well worth the price
My wife and I happened to visit Kahala mall on a Saturday. It was lunchtime. We were going to eat at the food court but we were looking for something not found near my home in Leeward side. The Puka's at Wholesale Market was closed so we end up at the Counter Custom Burger. It's tempting to make my own custom burger but since we're new to the place, we'd rather try their burgers in the menu. My wife got the Bison is Good burger and I had the Breakfast burger. We both have are burgers at medium. The Bison burger has still some pinkish color in the middle and we both like it. It was juicy, perfectly cooked. The beef on my Breakfast burger has less pink color and looks slightly burnt on the outside. It was good but I feel like the Bison was better. The Bison feels healthier to eat. The Bison has spinach while the beef has tomato. The beef had the Applewood bacon which adds smoky flavor to the Breakfast burger. Both had eggs so kind of messy to eat. Both eggs were cooked right. It was gooey but not too runny. The Bison comes with their house made thousand island; while the beef comes with sweet sriracha sauce. Both sauce were delicious but I wouldn't recommend to put a lot of it on the burger. The burger is the star of the dish and you don't want the sauce to overcome it. We did have the Buffalo cauliflower as our app and that was good, too. We had the buffalo sauce on the side so we can control the heat. The ranch sauce also helps mellow the spiciness. My wife tried their mint peach lemonade while I tried their pom-berry lemonade. It was not something we like after we tasted it. I mean the drinks were on the meh side for us. We feel like we can skip those drinks next time and try something else. Speaking of next time, if we come back here again, we might eat the Bison is Gouda again. And then maybe I will make my own custom burger.
This place is SO good! Highly recommend the BLT&A sandwich and Bacon BBQ Burger..
Service was solid and our food came out within 5 minutes!!
I will be back guaranteed.
Great service from the staff here. My burger bun bottom came a little soggy and cold and our waitress was able to get me a new one quickly with no hassle. Bison is a +$7 add-on here in Hawaii, so I skipped it this time. The regular beef was very good.
They have a great lunch menu if you're in a hurry, but you really can't go wrong with anything you order. We ordered a chicken sandwich, turkey burger, and burrata burgers plus shoestring onions and fries. It was all SO good! Service is excellent and fast if you're taking a lunch break. We enjoy it each time we go for lunch because the good is always excellent and the service is fast. There are so many options on the menu we haven't tried yet, but this is definitely a great spot for lunch or even a family dinner.
This review is for a To Go order, so the consistency would probably be a little different than eating in.
I ABSOLUTELY love the idea of a build your own burger restaurant!!
The atmosphere at The Counter is very modern & fresh with staff who are friendly and ready to help you with your burger desires.
We needed to order take out, and they had a separate area for that.
I ordered the teriyaki burger with the 1/2 lb. Mahi Mahi for my meat choice and a GF bun, plus since we had a 15-20 minute wait, I ordered the Minted-a spiked chocolate mint shake.
My hubby got the Bison Gouda burger and fries.
The food was arranged beautifully, even in the To Go container. My fish burger was gigantic and so delicious!! The only reason I took one star away was because my mahi mahi was raw in the middle; I’m sure I could have had that fixed though if I had been in the restaurant.
My hubby LOVED his burger; the fries were yummy shoe string fries. The GF bun was pretty good as far as GF buns go-they grilled it nicely.
I would recommend eating in the restaurant if you can vs. getting it To Go. I think The Counter is an idea whose timing is perfect!! I would love to give it another try for sure.
Great extensive menu of options for building your own burger. SUPER easy to get full even on a keto diet with a salad bowl option (instead of a bun or other carb). Honestly, everything on the menu looks fantastic. I will definitely be coming back again to try different combos of ingredients. And when I get off the keto diet, I plan to rage on their shakes, too (who wouldn't want a Graham cracker, nutella, and brownie shake?!!!!!)!! The lady sitting next to me had the chili bowl, and it was MASSIVE (definitely enough to get full on), but she did say that, taste-wise, it was rather one-dinensional. Maybe add some chipotle aioli to it to give it a nice kick?
Service was quick, and customer service was a plus. This was my first time dining here and the food was excellent! Everything tasted so good. Can't wait to try something new the next time I come back.
