Excellent tea service any day of the week♡
Sadly. They don't have the guava cake anymore. The sandwiches are really good.
They now have a tea cart and you can no longer dine outside on the lanai.
The food is good and the service is amazing but the proce doubled! You prepay 80 dollars for tea.
They also have clotted cream and lemon liliokoi butter and also a pineapple 🍍 butter to go on the scones.
The white tea selections have diminished. You don't have as many options as they used to have but it's still good but very limited in choices. Attached is the new menu.
Parking is validated and free 4 hours and if self parking. Valet parking is available but you should tip. This is also free parking 4 hours for valet.
Our world food tour continued … at The Veranda at The Kahala Resort. I come here when I’m staying in the hotel and want a light meal and music. This time it was a pre-Valentine’s dinner with my fellow foodie and we wanted to hear live music. We opted for seating outside and chose a table quite a way down from the entrance. This proved to be the nice, quiet spot we wanted but the music was background level at best.
We started with a bottle of 2018 Stag’s Leap Hands of Time, a red blend from Napa. Dark, with a sense of prunes and raisins, it needed some time to open up. Accompanying the wine was the Charcuterie platter, a nice mix of cheeses, sliced meats and fruit with crackers and small squares of lavosh.
We ordered the Foie Gras Musubi, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and the Hawaiian Mushroom Flat bread with truffles. Service was leisurely (which was fine with us) but it took a long time for the flat bread to appear, I can’t say exactly, but it felt like an hour after the first dish arrived.
The foie gras musubi was great, a little crunchy on the exterior, offset by the creamy foie gras … We always order anything with foie gras or truffles. The brussels sprouts were large and firm, with just the right amount of char; they were flavorful without losing the slight bitterness of cabbage.
The flat bread was round like a pizza and I considered it to be a white mushroom pizza with a generous layer of black truffle; the scent of the shaved truffle was intoxicating and the taste matched the aroma; heavenly.
We ended our meal with the Hoku’s Warm Chocolate Coulant and the Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Each was served with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, these desserts didn’t live up to the rest of the meal. The pineapple cake was fine but not special; the warm chocolate coolant wasn’t warm and appeared dry.
What did we think? The food and drink were fine with a few exceptions (dessert); service was very good though our server (Cenisaliza) seemed to have too many tables; the music was less than we expected. I will continue to patronize The Veranda when I stay at the hotel but will choose a table closer to the musician for a better overall experience.
I'm very elevated experience. The live piano is wonderful. Staff is friendly, but I'll be honest it's beautiful and comfortable. There's a nice dance floor where we boogie down.
This is the location I fell in love with my wife.
Special place in my heart to visit with my children too.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit this place, I highly recommend that you do. If this review helped or brought you value please give it a thumbs up and check on my other reviews and recommendations of places to see, eat enjoy and experience.
Afternoon Tea time at no better place in Hawaii. Sit in the cool shade and watch the dolphins and people watch the pool. The 3 tiers of delight is heavenly and matches well with the delicious tea. I love to visit this property located in the Kahala Hotel at the end past Diamond Head.
The experience was awesome, the staff is very friendly and helpful! I love coming here with the staff attentive and food being delicious and well prepared. The music is welcoming. Loved the dinner!
Friday nights at the veranda are my favorite. With awesome local musicians, and good food, don’t forget to save room for dessert because they have the best.
But make sure to make reservations for they are always booked and not able to accommodate.
Truly a top notch dining experience. Scrumptious food, stunning environment, and excellent service. Visiting from Canada, and dining here was a refreshing experience. Thank you.
Johnny Valentine awesome! We wish he could play longer. Every table is taken when he stops playing. I'm sure you'll be able to bring in more revenue for Veranda. Also, your staff is great. Host Sandy, server Cinaliza, sushi chef, very friendly and appreciative.
This place was amazing. Everything in this hotel has been excellent from the food to the level of service. Kim and Cenisaliza (I hope I spelled your name right) were incredible! They made it such a wonderful experience. And the food was super oishi. We love this hotel, we are just so pleasantly surprised how lovely everyone is. We'll definitely be back. I also wanted to point out for those that mentioned it was expensive, this is a 5 star hotel and therefore the quality service, food and price point completely reflect that.
I thought this place was fantastic. The view is wonderful as you look out to the beach and ocean and there's a cool, light breeze in the evening. The hotel/resort feels upscale, I had a collar shirt and shorts and felt a little under dressed for the evening, but it is beautiful. The room outside the Veranda felt classy and had live entertainment. We only had the charcuterie and drinks, which were very good, but I can't comment on the rest of the menu. The only criticism is the service was slower than what we would like. I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy some light food, wine, and conversation.
We had afternoon tea here which was great. The sandwiches and treats were delicious, but maybe a bit on the small side. The location is great to just sit and relax for a little while.
I saw the mixed reviews but the Kahala is beautiful so I booked Afternoon tea for Mother's day.
Complimentary valet with validation and the Kahala is just stunning. The dolphin pool is too small and mean imo but that's another story...
my mom is mobility disabled and can't stand for long periods and we were able to sit down 30 minutes before our reservation. The tea menu had a few options - 4 sweets OR four mini sandwiches (not both!, no tea $20 a person), 4 sweets AND 4 sandwiches and a pot of tea ($50 a person), the same but with a glass of champagne ($60), or the fancy $80 one with the same and a box of macadamia chocolates to take home.
we got the $50 each classic tea- the kahala signature was red and strong (think Teavanas youthberry), the sunny meadow was nice and uplifting. you pour the tea into the pot, flip the included sand timer and drink when you want, pouring through the strainer over your cup. warning: the tea of course gets stronger the longer you've had it, I'm kinda confused by why you wouldn't use a ball or removeable dipper thing but maybe I'm not fancy enough to drink tea that fast haha. by the end of the meal it was pretty dark. The sandwiches were yummy but so small, the pastries all tasted like they had a stick of butter each (not complaining) it got pretty heavy, and some of the other reviews say the pastries were too sweet... well i came here because of those reviews and yes they are sweet but they are SWEETS! and you have tea to cut the taste, i thought it was fine although i filled up on scones and the buttery thick pastiries and couldn't finish it all.
the seating was nice, the initial waiter was very nice and informative. after we were served though, it took a very long time to flag someone down. i understand they were leaving us to stay as long as we like but i waved and caught a few people's eye and it seemed to be misunderstood. I didn't feel snubbed but it was hard to get the check.
For $50 we could've had dinner elsewhere instead of tiny sandwiches but i think the experience of afternoon tea is what you're paying for. some meals you want to be steak and buffets and exotic gourmet where you sit and talk about the tastes and flavors blah blah but sometimes you want the view, the off the strip location, the valet, and for the main course to be talking with your guest, have a lovely time, lovely atmosphere, lovely china, lovely view, dainty foods, overall a "lovely" special occasion outing with mom

copy'n'paste Guide to my reviews: 5 = Above and Beyond what's expected/AMAZING, 4 = Perfect - good experience, 3 = Good nothing special nothing bad, 2 = Bad service, 1 = I'm offended
Delicious food and beautiful views here. The afternoon tea service was both quaint and delicious. I also loved the live piano player and other musical acts at night!
This place is AMAZING private beach , several U.S. President have stayed here. They have there own Dolphin pool and sting rays. Totally up scale and probably one of the most relaxing places I've been to in life, I really can't find words to explain this place, but I will EN
My two good friends took me here for high tea to celebrate my birthday. Food was good and the service was great. We plan on making this a regular getaway. 🤗
