I spent the afternoon walking around Chinatown and knew I wanted to try a dim sum spot. I had just eaten at Marugame (because I wanted to try them out too) but made sure I left room in the stomach for more food. I read some reviews that said the service wasn't good. I thought the ladies that worked there were the sweetest and most attentive I've seen in a while. And the food was great too! I'm from Vegas so the only thing I can use as reference are the many dim sum restaurants in our Chinatown; Mei's can easily go toe-to-toe with any of them. I did just eat at Marugame so couldn't try as many things as I wanted but I did an apples to apples comparison by ordering many of the same items I typically eat at any dim sum: the porridge with pork and century egg, the shrimp dumplings (har gow), tripe, sticky rice in lotus leaf, and pork buns. All were outstanding. I don't recall seeing any prices on the dim sum menu but everything above (2 orders of the shrimp dumplings) came to a little over $40 (no drinks - only the tea and water) so the price is super reasonable too. I'll definitely be stopping by again!

Fast and fresh food. The garlic chicken wings were exceptionally good. We came early in the morning to ensure we got the most fresh baked goods as well Look Fun with shrimp had nice big pieces of deliciousness. We also got the sweet coconut sesame ball which was hot and fresh! Everything was super good and the place opened extra early! Sunday was our best early morning visit so far.

So good that the only photo I have is our half way eaten through char siu chow mein noodles!! My fiancé said this is the best dim sum he’s ever had (and we’ve had a lot of dim sum). We went at an odd time (3:30 pm) and there were only three other tables so we didn’t have to wait very long. We got the coconut sesame balls and we ended up getting another order of them to take with us :) Will definitely be back when we’re in Oahu again

Kung Hei Fat Choy! Our family has always enjoyed Mei Sum for its delicious dim sum and dishes at reasonable prices. Great value for the quality here. It can get busy, so if you have a large group, call ahead for reservations.

I’m not super experienced with dim sum, but really enjoyed the food. It’s a very casual setting. Each item we ordered seems to come out of the kitchen fresh. The red sauce and mustard sauce blended well.

Nice ladies working here. Service was great and food was excellent. They serve dim sum all day apparently. But kind of on the expensive side. Almost $7 a plate for the regular pork shumai and the shrimp dumplings.

We love the food here. Great selections on Dim sum, made fresh and great food and the prices are affordable. Very little English is spoken here. But they do a great job. Party of 3 for lunch we got their around 11am. We were served immediately, it wasn't too busy yet. Our food came out very quickly. We were disappointed in their recommendation for their house special noodles. It had no flavor and it was the only thing that we didnt like. Here are a few of the great dishes we ordered. Highly recommended.

How nice to have a Chinese bistro that closes late after others have closed. Mei Sum Dim Sum closes at 8pm. It’s popular in the neighborhood.

As a native Texan I would not eat tex-Mexican or BBQ far away from the place that it originates from and expect it to hold up. Amazing authentic dim sum. And there is parking right across the street The same logic applies here. The dim sum here is a step or two above the rest including any dim sum iv had in china town in the 4th* largest city in the US (Houston) makes since Hawaii is a bit closer to Hong Kong makes sense. Come here instead of at a tourist trap. There is parking right across the street and you can see old downtown vibe area

Usually eat at noonish which is expectedly hectic and crazy and today was the first time eating at 2:30/3, well after the lunch rush. We found street parking right out front (metered) and since the dim sum carts weren’t being used, ordered with a server. Our items arrived around the same time, with one trickling at the end when we were stuffed, but we realized that our fried items were very crispy and remained scalding hot even after a few minutes of sitting. I think I’d rather come back off-peak hours to really enjoy and not have to flag down the carts or wait a long time with plates here and there.
