So good!! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here for lunch. The 15 piece Sora lunch omakase course + chawanmushi, miso soup, omelette and dessert was great value for $150pp and no tip (japanese style). The chefs were friendly and fun, not to mention very skilful. The serving team made us feel welcome and showed us pictures of the different fish that we weren’t familiar with on an iPad. Everything was delicious and fresh, and we were quite satisfied and full but the end of it all. Highly recommend to book a few weeks early!

This is my second time being here, and it is just as incredible as the first. I went with the Arata with a Blue Fin Tuna Upgrade and a Sake Pairing. From the time you sit to the time you leave, you are being bombarded with delicious treats and education on what you're eating. Everything you enjoy flows seamlessly, from the opening Chawanmushi until your Tamago slices and Dessert at the end. I'd share details about my dinner, but they have a constantly rotating menu because it is an Omakase dinner. It's all chef's choice, as they guide your dinner from start to finish. After it is done, they'll hand you a menu for additional upgrades like Bluefin Steak, Abalone, or Hairy Crab with 24k Gold. The staff is cordial, and very knowledgeable. Putting your comfort and giving you the best experience possible for Edomae Sushi will have very few to parallel here on Oahu. The only experience I've had that rivals this is SushiSho, if there are those out there that are looking for a comparison. I will say that this is not by any means a cheap experience, as you'll start on average at $300 a head. And with my aforementioned upgrades and requests for sake you can easily jump this price to double. With that said, it is an awesome date night that will leave you satisfied... and for bigger eaters out there they have things that will satisfy the palate. I will be coming back here, hopefully more than the once a year I have planned. This is an easy recommendation, that I'm elated to share with as many people as I can who are interested in dining experiences.

Very nice omakase, a traditional one. Instead of a counter, there are multiple traditional Japanese rooms for each party. Food is great. The waiter introduced the food in English, Japanese, and Chinese! A 4.4 stars in my opinion, so giving a 4. I will recommend to everyone visiting Hawaii!

The omakase dinner here is amazing. The dinning experience at the bar was truly special. The sushi chef Sasuke was very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend the sake pairing, it is well worth the additional cost.

Possibly the best meal I have ever had! We had the chefs tasting meal and each dish was unique, delicious, and artfully presented. Each dish came out with great timing and precision. Yumi was our server and we were blown away by how professional, and impeccable the entire experience was. Come to this restaurant if you want to try some new dishes!

Food was amazing, Interior was nice and clean, chef and hostess were super friendly and hospitable. For each of the fish served, they presented us pictures with a little background. You can see they put lots of efforts on the details. It was our last night at Oahu and was absolutely awesome to end the Honolulu trip here. I'm a bit surprised they DO NOT take tips, their service was perfect. Five stars! Will definitely come back visit next time ❤

I was there twice, the first time was at the counter and the second time at the private dining table, and the experience was amazing both time. You have to make reservation to sit at the sushi counter to watch the chef making sushi (Omakse style). The food was spectacular. They refilled the tea to make sure it was still at the right temperature.

The food is great and the service exceptional with Japanese attention to detail (eg servers will never give their back to you, which means they walk backwards many times) The restaurant is also very private with two separate rooms in addition to the sushi bar. The food is of great quality as you would expect, with imported from Japan ingredients. However I think it is a bit too pricey compared to other restaurants of similar quality in other cities (although tip is not accepted, so that helps). Also missed some kind of signature dish hard to find in other places that would make me come back. In any case, a great place to indulge in delicious sushi for a special occasion.

Reservation - We booked the reservation a week ahead but was not able to seat in the bar, but we were able to be seated privately which was nice. So if you want to have a better spot, try to book it maybe two weeks ahead. Service - The waiter who served us was young and being very nice and we love chatting with him. One of the things I really like is they will show you a booklet of the fishes you are going to have so you can learn their names. The chef came out after we finish dinning and bowed deeply which made us feel moved. He also did this to other guests waiting outside. Drink- They offer the wine paring, this time we tried four different types share by two, if you are not an expert, feel free to ask them arrange for you. Different appetizers/sushi goes with different saki. We the black bottle (pic2) it is really fresh and fruity and the bottle in pic 3 if you like strong aroma of rice, it is heavier and creamy. Food- All the ingredients were fresh, even their prickles maintained great quality. But not impressive by the prices we are paying. Our favorite was the shrimp sushi, really fatty and creamy texture, the bluefin fish toro was not as good as we expected. We had better one in other sushi bar with less price. Price- a bit pricier. Consider this factor. My rating would be 4.5. They would ask whether you want to upgrade your meal to Wagyu Beef set which would be $50 dollars more, the beef is very soft and tasty but if only for three small chunks of difference I don't think it worth it. Overall it was a great experiences and I would recommend this place to my friends.

We made a reservation for lunch omakase which was 100 per person. It is one of the best omakase I've had. Each nigiri had a distinct flavor profile and everything was very fresh. The highlights for me are the ebi and uni nigiri. The appetizer and desserts were also excellent. I would definitely come back again. (A photo of katsuo nigiri is missing because I ate it too quick 😆)

We had such a great dinner here at the sushi bar counter. It felt so good to be able to dine inside again and watch the chef prepare our omakase dinner in front of us. Everything was very fresh and tasted amazing. The service was great from the chef and all the ladies who served us.

Extremely good & delicious omakase. The service + its food worth every dollar I spent. I even forgot to take photos after nigiri started and just looked forward to the next one. The waitress even showed us what fish with a seafood dictionary with pictures & how the chef took care of the ingredients. The chef is from Japan but still tried his best to communicate with us to make sure we had great experiences there. I will definitely visit this restaurant again whenever I visit Oahu in the future.

All the Omakase Options are impressive Bring your appetite and prepare to be amazed by the top tier service and perfectly presented /put together food~ My always favorite is the fresh uni My favorite is every single piece of smokey flavored nigiri and My new favorite is the Nogoguro (black throat seaperch fish) Mahalo Miyuki and Yumi for a wonderful experience. Simply the best omakase we've ever had. Each piece of fish is carefully and beautifully cut and tastes sublime over perfectly seasoned vinegar rice. The decor, bar, and bathroom is very clean and modern. The head chef's skillful and smooth knife cutting techniques was a real treat to see! The staff was attentive and informative of the fish we were being served by using a binder and showing us pictures of the specific fish. While the prices may seem steep, it is totally worth the experience and was a filling meal. And don't hesitate to spend the extra $50 to get the toro (tuna) steak, the best 3 small pieces of fish ever!
