One of our mother’s wishes was to take an outrigger off Waikiki beach and scatter her ashes in the ocean. The fantastic team at Aloha Beach Services helped carry out her dream. Ryan kept us updated, through emails and phone calls, on the event and answered every question promptly and professionally. Our captains, Lumpy and Fritz took us out on the magical waters and guided us through the beautiful ceremony of releasing Mom’s ashes and spirit to the ocean. They were considerate and thoughtful as they reminded us to tell story and say good bye. Then we helped mom speed her way to the cosmos as we caught a wave in the outrigger back to shore. If you are looking for a group to trust for your ceremony look no further. Thank you Aloha Beach Services.

Private surfing lessons was so much fun! Great and knowledgeable instructors and they got me standing up and surfing in that first hour. I felt safe the whole time and had a great overall experience. I recommend taking a lesson if this your first time surfing Waikiki to understand the waves/swells/ocean here - there's different areas of the ocean to catch a wave and having someone with expertise there to help me catch the right waves really made it fun.

This place is great! Convenient location, great price ($25/2hours), no-nonsense, knowledgeable staff; what’s not to like? I walked up about 11am, asked to rent a board. They said none available, come back in 20-30 minutes. I did just that. I signed papers, paid and was in the surf in literally 5 minutes. Next day: woke, ate, repeat. So simple. If you’re a Karen/Daren who needs your hand held and you want the staff to tell you that they’re your lifelong BFF, then maybe the place isn’t for you. If you just want to rent a board and catch some waves, this is the spot. Life is not that complicated lol.

My sons and I took surf lessons with Josh. He is top notch. He was very patient with my youngest and my beginner abilities. Josh challenged my 12-year-old, encouraging him to catch waves on his own, which he was happy to find out he could do. Josh told us about his growing up surfing at Waikiki with the old school surf instructors keeping the order. Surf lessons with Josh were a lot of fun! We highly recommend!

We did the outrigger canoe on a Saturday morning. We absolutely loved it. The guys were friendly and helpful. And funny!!!! And the canoe ride was so fun and such a good value. $25 per person. We paddled out 3 separate times and rode a wave in. A little splashing and “roller coaster-ish” on the paddle out. I am a wimp about water sports and water in my face but I had the best time. Felt very safe and secure the whole time. Never felt like I would fall out. Highly recommend this!!!!!

great place to get a canoe ride or surf lesson. They have the best equipment of all the beach services in Waikiki. Authentic BeachBoys experience.

Amazing service! No other place would take just my daughter and myself out for an outrigger canoe ride unless we paid for 4 people or found 2 others to fill the boat, but Aloha beach services did. And they did it with a smile. We had a great time and would highly recommend. Their customer service was phenomenal, the Aloha Beach Services guys that went out with us were friendly and clearly having a great time, and our outrigger canoe ride was one of the highlights of our trip. We will definitely be using them again if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Waikiki.

Lumpy and Josh gave my 2 girls private surfing lessons this morning. They were very personable and did a fantastic job teaching my girls how to surf. Super happy with their first experience surfing. My daughters are looking forward to getting out there again.

Staff was awesome! Surf lesson is first come, first serve. John Paul gave a private lesson to my brother and me without charging the extra for a smaller party. Afterwards he was really genuine and gave us recommendations for stuff to do and eat around the area!

Spent a week in Waikiki over Christmas/New Year's - I cannot say enough about this lovely team. Professional, funny, laid-back, they made my family's vacation so special. We spent 90% of our time on the beach in front of The Moana. Every morning we showed up and Lumpy had carefully set up our umbrella and beach chairs. My mother loved her stand-up paddle boarding and surfing lessons and one of the highlights of my sister's trip was a ride in the outrigger canoe. Fritz, Shayne, Didi - every ABS employee we encountered was wonderful. The best part? They take photos and videos out on the waves FOR you, so you can take your memories home on disc. ADVICE: This business is cash only! Make sure to reserve in advance; they work on one of the busiest parts of the beach (outside Duke's) so the spots go quickly once the sun it up!

The outrigger canoe ride is one of the most fun things I've ever done in Waikiki. It is a great time, especially for a non-surfer. ABS is also where I rent my surfboards from when I am in Waikiki. The guys are always so friendly and helpful it truly is aloha service on the beach!

These guys were great! They don't take reservations, so it's first come first served. If you get there close to when they open (8:00 AM,) you're practically guaranteed to be in your own group. Come later in the day, however, to potentially pay less by joining other people in a larger group. The lesson consists of 10-20 minutes on the beach for tips and safety protocols, followed by an hour in the water with an instructor. For us, he was very good about helping to let us know when we were too far backward/forward on the board, when we should start paddling to catch the wave, and when we tried to stand too early/late. They provide rash guards so the board doesn't kill your chest, and they have a place for you to safely leave your valuables while you're out on the water. But make sure you bring water shoes, as the coral can be VERY sharp, which my fiance learned the hard way despite being warned several times by the instructor. I was able to get the hang of it pretty quickly thanks to him, but he was very helpful for my fiance in turning the board around quickly and giving her a push to ensure she caught some waves.

Aloha Beach Services is the best there is in Waikiki. They at the Moana Surfrider, the oldest hotel on the beach. I've been renting surfboards from them for years and they couldn't be more accommodating. Don't miss an outrigger canoe ride too. It is the closest a non surfer can get to feel what surfing is like.

JP is the best! We had a great canoe ride, followed by a surfing lesson. Can’t wish for more!
