Irifune Restaurant - Honolulu - Photo album

Super authentic walk-up counter bento place. There is a seating area but it's only open weekdays at lunchtime. Highly recommend anything that includes the chicken karaage. They also do catering bentos for large groups but you have to order in advance.
Love, love this place! The food is “home cooking”, just great ingredients at a good price, delicious flavors. It’s like a mix of traditional Japanese and more “robust” savory if that makes any sense. They have a wide selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options, something for everyone. We tried se
I was working on the building beside Irifune, and we decided to give it a shot. We ordered the special: Seared garlic Ahi. It was outstanding!!! Super tasty and light, paired with rice and salad. I’m looking forward to trying another dish in the future. Great prices too!
I really did not know what to expect from a walk-up order, shaded outdoor seating only, casual dining restaurant but WOW, absolutely delicious, worth the visit and the prices were reasonable. It's Japanese style casual cuisine (all served in to go box style) You really can't go wrong with anything
went peak lunchtime on a friday (11:30), so it was pretty busy, and we had to wait a little while for the food but it was worth it. they have some tables available outside for dining. we got the bento lunch and ginger pork. very delicious. wish they were open for dinner and/or weekends so we could c
I loved the original and I am happy to see that they are pivoting in the pandemic. Outdoor seating and the other customers were wearing masks. I hope more sushi will be on the menu in the future. I’ll be back for more ono food!
I eat here maybe twice a week or more. I absolutely love it. Sometimes I invite my husband for lunch here with me, and he likes it too. Very clean, friendly, yummy, establishment.
Very small place. No alcohol is served here so make sure to BYOB if you want. The food was very well prepared and it was OYSHEE!!!
Had the ginger pork and sashimi combo. Great flavors and filling for the price. Nice shaded area to eat outside. Nice service.
The bento is delicious and authentic that remind me of my days in Japan. Although small in size, it's still one of the best Japanese restaurants I visited in Honolulu. I particularly recommend tempura and breaded tofu.
2022.12 update: Basa fish replacement for ono ahi (market inflation). Always a longtime local lunch fav for the ‘salaryman’…especially situated on the chill 1970s Mililani Street pedestrian mall. The noise of the doves cooing and wind in the trees and palm leaves with aloha music covers the typical
Japanese take-out restaurant. Small menu (5-7 menu options) that varies day to day. Only open for lunch. Outside seats only, somewhat shaded. Menu prices are from around $6-11. Good portion size, pretty good lunch, food was quick.
Staff was very welcoming and kind. Daily specials are always worth it.
The lemon caper Basa is amazing, they have some kind of delicious secret sauce that they use here that makes things taste really good, but I can't put my finger on what the flavor is. Portions are big enough to share with an appetizer. Surprisingly good "hole in the wall".
The Grill is an outdoor seating, order at the window, kind of place. I had the Kalbi Combo Plate Lunch and... I have to say, it was the best plate lunch (i) ever (had)... my mouth is watering just thinking about it...
Try the seared garlic ahi tuna - you will not regret it. The poke appetizer and ahi avocado tartar were also very delicious. The place has no liquor license and the decor is a little kitschy. Overall a good experience!
Excellent japanese bento box like lunch box. Really high quality food at good price for Honolulu / Waikiki standard. Only open for lunch.
Amazing food!! Small restaurant with high quality food. Tempura and chicken katsu were my favorites. Highly recommend this place for tourists wanting a local vibe.
'Yummy', 'Fabulous', 'Delicious'... Comments from our party of four who happened upon this place. 'A real hole-in-the-wall just like in Okinawa'. I had the special catch of the day - local caught swordfish which was scrumptious. Other things we tried were Japanese curry - sauce was properly dry in f
