Another place I discovered after moving to Birmingham for college. I live several hours away now but needed to return to the area for business. I planned dinner here for the trip well in advance. Still a delicious classic. They have a limited menu right now but still a generous variety. I ordered the beef brisket plate with sauce on the side. It was fantastically smoked and tender. I was full and had plenty of leftover sides but I definitely ate all the brisket first 😋 12oz sounds like a lot on menu but on your plate that's 5-6 slices and it's gone before you know it! Sauce is only a compliment, by far, not needed. Their signature sauce is vinegar based and their spicy sauce has a habanero punch. And the TEA!! Literally, get a gallon to go. It's made the way southern sweet tea is SUPPOSED to taste.
My guest ordered the stuffed baked potato-- the menu ACCURATELY describes it as "huge." I am fairly sure there were 2 potatoes on that plate.
Great Customer Service. The ribs were especially tender. Would have given 5 stars but the sauce was too thin and didn't have enough taste for my liking. Love the little muffins.
Here is the deal, the biscuits alone get this place to a 5 star. I have never asked to take a bunch home with me and I bought a dozen. The rest of the food was really good as well but the cheddar biscuits are to die for!!!!
Service was really good and attentive. I will be coming back here!
One of my favorites restaurants since moving to the south! Macaroni and cheese is excellent at this location. My family loves the ribs, whole chicken, smoked wings, fried catfish and the cheese muffins!! Great place for family dinner or business lunch.
Surprisingly good food. The only thing I didn't like is the sweet cornbread muffins they bring out and call biscuits- definitely a muffin & too sweet for my liking.
Very nice place to eat!! service fantastic, great hot food !
