Made reservations for our Anniversary dinner at Les Cochons d'Or for a Saturday night. We were staying at the Homestead and walked the short walk down into town where the restaurant is. We walked down an hour early thinking that we would explore any little shops and whatnot in the downtown area only to find everything closed.
So we went to the restaurant early and asked if they would be able to seat us early, not expecting that they could but thought it couldn't hurt to ask. They were extremely warm and welcoming even on a packed Saturday night. They seamlessly adjusted they're plan to fit us in early. We had a wonderful spot at the bar height seating, that has a front row view of the kitchen. It was such a pleasure to be able to watch the kitchen team at work preparing stunning dish after stunning dish.
The service was absolutely impeccable, from the timing of drinks, ordering etc. it was just a delight. The food was wonderful! I started with a crab risotto that was so light and perfectly balanced and the right portion size for an appetizer. It was wonderful. My husband had the French Onion soup that he said was good, not the best he's ever had, but very enjoyable.
For mains I had the mountain trout that was excellent. I would order that again and again. It had a breading on it that wasn't greasy or heavy, just added some nice texture and flavor. Loved the root vegetable puree, capers and fennel with it. The server said it was one of their top selling dishes and I can see why. My husband had the namesake of the restaurant, a pork tenderloin wrapped in pancetta. He devoured it and said that it was delicious with the vegetables, forbidden black rice and a decadent sauce.
We had an excellent desert of the chocolate torte and we were so touched and surprised when the server brought us a card that was hand signed by the entire team for our anniversary. It was such a thoughtful and special touch.
They nailed it from beginning to end. They somehow captured this very intimate mom and pop feel but with all the polish and high end execution of an upscale urban restaurant. Can't wait until our next visit!
Absolutely amazing food! Probably one of the best dining experience in the region. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!
Thank you so much for making our anniversary meal an outstanding experience. From service to meal to wine selection we couldn't be more pleased we found your restaurant for our special evening. Best meal we've had in years and we eat out a great deal!!
We ordered trout, front steak, pancetta wrapped tenderloin & mixed berries streusel. The trout was just ok to me since my palate was comparing it the trout I had in Peru😞 but we would definitely come back. Lovely experience overall!
Small, intimate French restaurant. We had the trout and the duck- both were delicious. The staff gave me a birthday card and a free dessert. Delightful!
The service was empiccible and the food was more than beyond incredible. You must have the butternut squash soup. It's like a bisque and I could have licked the bowl if it was permitted in genteel society! Highly recommend a visit. The staff is very helpful and the owners areinvolved and talk with guests on an individual basis answering questions or helping you with decisions.
One of our favorite French Restaurants. Great food and friendly service. Love their French Onion Soup. Delicious Champagne. Chocolate Ganache is to die for.
The best French onion soup! Broth was rich and soothing. Loved the duck. Big portion. Tender and delicious. Super good service. We will be back.
The food is awesome. So glad we decided to venture out from The Homestead for one of our dinners for our Honeymoon. The Chicken dinner I had was very flavorful and the Apple Spice cake was delicious. Wish this place was in Iowa.
Every time we have dined at LCd’O we are blown away. The food and service are excellent!
My dinner tonight was absolutely wonderful! The trout was the best I have had in years and the owners and staff were delightful.
This is the best restaurant we've eaten at in years. Come to Hot Springs, VA for this great experience.
Amazing food! Amazing staff! Will go back soon!!

I'm hesitant to write a review as I don't want others to beat me to my vacation "must" reservation. However, when in Hot Springs you MUST eat here! We love this place!
