This restaurant served a lovely dinner in a private dining room for 16 people for me yesterday. The steaks were cooked just right, the service was impeccable and we just had a great time. Special thanks to Miguel!!
This was a decent dining experience within the Hilton America's hotel. The decor and dim lighting was comfortable. To start the meal off, fresh bread and butter was brought to the table. I really enjoyed the onion bread. To follow was a crab cake with Mexican corn and romesco sauce. I'm not sure which type of nuts were used to make the sauce but the taste of it was noticeable. The crab cake itself was meaty and very tasty. The dish could have done without the corn as it didn't add to the dish in terms of flavor but didn't take away from it either. It was just sort of there so in this case I guess it was nice to have the extra veggies. For the main course, the ancho honey roasted chicken was very moist, fall off the bone tender but lacked in flavor. Majority of the flavor came from skin and glaze that surrounded on the plate but the rest was bland. The veggies were also lacking flavor but nothing a little salt couldn't fix. The purée that both the chicken and veggies sat on top of was pretty good and sweet. The highlights of this dinner were the desserts. One was a chocolate granola cake and the other a raspberry shortcake parfait. If I had to choose one over the other, the parfait would win without a doubt. Creamy, lite and delicious raspberry filling makes this dessert a must try.1600 Bar is worth grabbing a meal if you're not looking to venture outside of the hotel. One things for sure, desserts and drinks are their hits here. They mix a great White Russian.Visit Date 4/23/2016
Tough one to review. The food is good, but I feel like they have an opportunity to be great.
I ordered the crab cakes to start. First problem was that the appetizer came at the same time as the main course. This annoys me, but let's move on. The presentation was very well done. The crab cakes were served with what I believe was a sun dried tomato type sauce. The flavor was ok, but I feel that if a more powerful flavor was introduced, it could really be a great dish. I guess what I am saying is that the sun dried tomato was a little weak for me.
For the main course I had the wagyu Mac and cheese. Again, presentation was incredible. The flavor however was again just a little boring for me. The beef was my biggest disappointment. While it may have been wagyu, it tasted like dry roast beef. Very disappointing and I believe a missed opportunity to make this a great dish. Second issue I had was that this was to be a 5 cheese Mac and cheese. The cheese however was just a cheese sauce. While there may have been 5 different cheeses in the sauce, the combined flavor and texture was lost. Maybe a crumble cheese on top to help break up the texture / flavor?
Anyway - service was good. Ambiance was good. Food was good. I would love to see them become a great restaurant.
I recently enjoyed a delightful Thanksgiving brunch buffet at this place. The warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a memorable experience. From the perfectly roasted turkey to the decadent desserts, every dish showcased culinary excellence. The variety of options catered to diverse palates, ensuring there was something for everyone. The attentive and friendly staff added to the overall positive ambiance, making it a perfect choice for celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends. I highly recommend 1600 Bar + Grille for a tasteful and enjoyable holiday feast.
This place located inside the hilton at lobby level offers great buffet starting daily at 6 am with ample choices to pick from. They have croissants, oats, parafaits, scrambled eggs, chef prepared custom omelettes, sausages, bread pudding, fresh cut fruits, and a lot more. Staff working here is friendly, attentive and welcoming. Their buffet is a must if you are staying at hilton or not!
I’m still waiting for my meal, but this place is really cool. Open air and connected to the lobby of a very nice hotel. Very nicely decorated, including some vegetation, which provides some barrier to the lobby traffic.
Amazing breakfast options. Our hostess Ethel Jackson and the manager George were super accommodating to our dietary restrictions. Words can’t express how much we enjoyed this restaurant.

This place. It should be a destination. The team went above and beyond to take excellent care of me and my dietary needs. They even posed for pictures with me AND provided me with a thank you note for eating so many meals at their restaurant while I was visiting Houston. Next time I am in Houston, this will be on my list of places to go. Thank you all.
Located inside the hotel lobby I had the chance to go here for lunch. The food was well made and service was very good.

Went for Christmas with Santa. It was a great experience. Thank you all so much.
This place is great if you’re not feeling like Pappsito’s or Pappadeaux’s is already closed. The food was great! They can be low staffed so it takes forever to get seated if it’s a busy night. I recommend the prime rib Mac n cheese.
Buffet option is the best. Lots of variety and food is great. They also have a chef that can make you your own omelette and waffles.
Hats off to Chef Lorenzo! Bravo Zulul! The Pancake and the Egg All the Way meals were well prepared and perfectly plated. Special thank you to Manager Miguel and hostess' Shari and Filberto for 1st class outstanding customer service. Wonderful attention to detail. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast. Hilton Honors 💜food was so delicious that I forgot to take photos☺️
Ate here twice while staging at the hotel. The food was excellent. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had many high end options to choose from with a huge assortment of foods overall. The price for two people was 54$ all you can eat. The staff were very professional and courteous. Seating was prompt and I would definitely return here. I recommend this to all of my friends.
Nice place with a ton of seating and food selections. Ethel J (hostess) was super sweet and made the experience great from the beginning, as well as George the manager. Definitely check this place out!
I had avacado toast for breakfast and it was good.
My mom and boyfriend's mom REALLY enjoyed the food before attending the Michelle Obama book tour event at The Toyota Center. We checked in with our reservation and were seated immediately. I had never been, but would definitely return. 😀👍
