This was a fantastic experience. The menu had a suggested chef specials and a highly suggested chefs specials. They do not disappoint. The food was amazing and so flavorful that we all ate too much. The Naan was light and fluffy. The dishes were bursting with flavor. It was so good.
You will not be disappointed if you choose to dine here. I highly recommend this restaurant 👌 😍

A fantastic place in downtown Houston. The owner has been in business for 40 years. Lovely atmosphere, great service and amazing Indian Cuisine. Some of the best Indian food I’ve had.
The food, service, and atmosphere were to die for! The food was amazingly fresh. The waiters never left your drink empty. The restaurant itself was beautiful. The tandoori chicken and garlic naan were definitely the best part of our experience. We will definitely be back when in Houston.
A local favorite nestled back from the street, I almost missed this restaurant that met all my expectations. I went on a Saturday, early afternoon, and the front parking lot was full, but there is more parking in the rear of the restaurant.
The customer service was very friendly. Diners from many walks of life came as they were, and were made welcome. I can see why this place is so popular. The dining room is classy and they accommodated a very large party while I was there. There is plenty of seating.
The buffet line was very long and wrapped around the wall. There is a view through the kitchen window where you can watch the doughy naan being made, and the baker will give you a friendly smile.
The buffet dishes were clean and shiny. That is really hard to find! And the table and chairs are well built and comfortable during a meeting I was in. The linens are a very nice touch. The waiter was a gentleman and pulled the chair out and seated me.
There is a good variety of meats, vegetarian and vegan options, from spicy to non-spicy. There are also a few well known desserts. Everything including my mango lassi tasted fresh and substantial. I only could handle one plate!
The waitstaff are experienced and friendly. The buffet is slightly more expensive here (in the twenties), but you really do get what you pay for here! I would be back for a treat and special occasion if I were back in the area. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Thank you for a great experience, India’s Restaurant!
Food was hot and very flavorful. Samosas were tender and the tamarind sauce was tart and sweet. The lamb was falling apart, the biryani made with love, and the curry and the kolcha delicious. The servers and staff were very nice. The masala chai was strong with just the right amount of milk.
Dotting wait staff from the beginning to the end, led by the Manager. Dining experience was great. If you love spicy food, then you’d love Indian food. The Shrimp Biryani combines so many tastes. Gosht Amritsari (stewed tender boneless lamb). Absolutely love the Naan (bread). The Taj lager beer (recommended by the Manager) was good!
I love coming here for the lunch buffet. Great way to sample and savor different dishes which are always delicious and authentic. Everything is just so good! The service is exceptional, best service in Houston , they are kind, attentive, and accommodating. I always appreciate their hospitality.
The food was great and came with a decent portion. I really enjoyed the desserts. The kheer was really good and came in a great size. I will be back to this location whenever I'm in town.
Very good resturant. Good food and service and atmosphere.
It took me to the 60's . I love the mirror on one side and very quiet. You can enjoy your food and your company.
When I walked in I was promptly greeted with a smile and I felt very welcome! They were so nice I felt super important. The food was delicious and fresh. I love the saag paneer; the paneer cubes are bigger than what I have had at other restaurants.
I love how covid cautious they are; there’s hand sanitizer and gloves available at the buffet and all the employees wearing masks.
The servers came to refill my water frequently which I appreciated. Will definitely be back soon!!
You know how it is when you want to say a restaurant has the best of a certain type of food. You can't most of the time unless you eat their foods side by side
I will say that I don't remember having any better Indian food than is consistently served at India's. I've forgotten how long I've eaten there but it's a very long time. The quality of food, table service and courtesy of every employee has never wavered.

This place is amazing! It was my first time there and EVERYTHING was delicious! Ahmed was very attentive and the owner was very kind. We tried the vegetable samosas, which come with mint chutney and tamarind sauce (a MUST try), the chicken masala, the chicken korma Kashmiri along with the mango lassi. I believe this combo was perfect! We didn’t get to take a picture because we finished it so fast. 5 well deserved stars!
The service is what makes this restaurant a 5 ⭐ for me! Within 5 seconds of me setting my plate at the end of the table, it was removed from the table! My friend and I had the lunch buffet (to our surprise they were still doing it, Covid-19) and the food was fresh and delicious! Definitely a must visit for anyone unfamiliar with good Indian food in the area!
P.S. I am not from Texas and just visiting on business.
My life partner and I had the pleasure of visiting this authentic Indian spot on the evening of his birthday. We were driving and it caught our attention, and I'm very glad that we stopped! The food was absolutely scrumptious and the service truly went above and beyond. One doesn't have to ask for fantastic service to be administered, as everybody working there is quick to notice anything you may possibly need and bring it to you as soon as you need it. This was honestly one of the restaurants' greatest strengths.
Amazing service aside, I was very impressed with the flavor and quality of the food. Absolutely some of the best I've had. I know I ordered chicken saag (green), but I unfortunately do not remember what my partner ordered, but it included some deliciously tender lamb as the meat(red). They were both DELICIOUS! I highly recommend this spot for a great dinner, and hope to come back and try their buffet. We live about 45 minutes from this spot, but it is absolutely worth the drive and I look forward to returning.
