Stopped by here on my way out of Houston after a concert. The breakfast burrito I grabbed was delicious, but for some reason they cut a to-go burrito in half. Not sure why.
All in all, I’d stop by again.
The staff is super friendly! really clean and quaint. The Cuban style shredded beef is delicious! But the plantains are a must try. Super glad I got to try them out and really recommend you do too!
It was all about this Cuban Torta. I will come again. I passed this little place so many times. I'm glad I finally came in for a visit. The staff was friendly and the food was exceptional 👌

I’ve been eating here for over a decade, this is my first review. The food is consistently delicious. And this may be a bold statement but I think they have the best shrimp tacos in houston. The plantains are always perfect. Parking is a challenge and the drive thru can be a pain but it’s worth the chaos.
This place has been delicious for a long time. However the prices have gotten out of control. $4+ for one taco is too much for me. They are moving from competing with taquerias to competing with gourmet taco places.... And I don't normally eat at gourmet taco joints.
Professional, and friendly staff. They are clean and handle your food with care by taking extra measures to wrap and seal it properly. I ordered delivery recently and was more than satisfied. I had all condiments and my precise directions were followed. Thank you for always being on point, delivering great service, and taking safety measures with the handling of the food. Great JOB 👍
Best late night drive thru. Food is great service is always great. The tortilla soup it's really amazing, and the little sweet plantains that they sell for the sides are delicious. Also, if you like fresh orange juice there is really good.
Give a raise to the guy working the drive thru window Friday 11/24 around 9:45am. I have literally never had more friendly, polite, helpful, patient and just genuinely kind service. 10/10 experience. Tacos and coffee were great too, but seriously give him a raise.
One of my favorite restaurants in Houston for over 20 years. The original El Rey never disappoints. Everything is super delicious here. They have real Cuban Coffee. The tacos are all fabulous. The salsa's are all very good. They even have whole rotisserie chicken.
El Rey is always consistently good and this time was no different! I like the ambiance, the quality of the food and this one is very convenient for a quick meal. Parking isn’t too bad and there’s a drive thru too.
I love this place. Always clean. Friendly service. Good coffee for the price. My favorite are the Cuban tacos with plantains and black beans.
The breakfast tacos at El Rey were excellent. They have a large variety of breakfast tacos as well as other lunch and dinner options all at a reasonable price. The thing I most noticed about the tacos were that they felt very fresh. I will definitely be coming back here to try more items on the menu.
great Cuban and Mexican food. I have been to all locations and never disappointed. Tortas and plates. The vegan taco is excellent. Their coffee and flan is a must. My carnivore friends rave about the rotisserie chicken. Everything always tastes fresh
