This is the cleanest restaurant I have been to in a very long time! The service is quick and friendly, and the burgers are great! They were playing great music( 80s rock)and the temperature was comfortable (I’m always cold at restaurants ) Wish we had this place in Dallas!
My first time visiting was a nice experience. I went in the late afternoon on a weekday, so it was hardly busy, which made it a quiet lunch break. I had the grilled onion burger where I added bacon for extra, but I didn't realize it didn't come with cheese. Overall, the burger tasted great without cheese. I wished I had more understanding of how to interpret the menu up high on the boards and the ingredient options listed on the counter. Burger size was about the same as fast food burger but tasted freshly made as did the French fries. French fries are small, so if you like a lot of fries, don't share with anyone, everyone get their own. Nice place 👌
Classic old school burger joint. No frills just good burgers and the usual sides. Service was friendly and the prices were fair. Our burgers, fries and onion rings came out hot and fresh. I really like their style of fries...classic and not overdone. I personally prefer rings made with a flakier, crispier batter BUT their rings are tasty and much better than lots of other places...but their are a few places that do have slightly better buns I think. Still, I will b back given the good service and easy n and out casualness of the joint.
I have to come to the med center often and we like to grab a burger here before we head back home. Burgers are great and not too greasy. Fries and onion rings are really good too!
My favorite Houston hamburger joint. Outstanding burgers. Wonderful people. Astros on the t.v. Ask for you fries well done. Or Southwell's has terrific onion rings.
This place has amazing burgers and chicken burgers. Fast, friendly and affordable service. Highly recommend it.
This place was quite delicious. Very well made burger, delicious fries, and fun atmosphere. The customer service was friendly and I am planning on visiting here again in the future!
My son swore up and down he'd taken me here before, I would have 'membered a place this good. We fell off our keto diet today and it was worth it. We did split a double meat burger with blue cheese and an egg, yum! It was downhill after that. We enjoyed their amazing waffle fries and onion rings.....we left quite a few of each which made us feel virtuous and that was really hard to do. A couple iced teas hit the spot. This is an old school burger place and i'm guessing most people know about them 'cause there's four locations. We'll be back.
The foods good the place was pretty empty when we came it felt a bit off when i walked in but the wait for our food wasn't long
Great home style burgers, you can’t go wrong here- it’s no wonder they’ve been in business this long. Their regular fries aren’t my favorite, but the sweet potato fries are to die for. I always get avocado added to my burger and it’s always fresh and never disappointing, you’ll definitely get full with these burgers.
Seriously great food. It’s what I think a burger should be. Fries are perfect. No meal specials but the food and vibe are outstanding. There’s a Whataburger across the street and, after eating here, I have no idea why anyone would go to a chain restaurant instead of southwells!
Southwell's is an overlooked better choice by many people. It is easy to miss in a busy, outer med center strip mall. The burgers are VERY flavorful and the milkshakes are perfection. Usually gets a high quality movement within a few hours.

Wow this complex is coming up in the world with it's newly instated common bond location. But the star of the show is definitely still Southwell's. Conveniently located near the med center, this burger joint has got it all: burgers, chicken, sandwiches, shakes.
They've got a choice of waffle and regular fries for the same price (I was surprised people seem to usually charge extra for waffle fries). I wasn't too impressed with these; they were very very crispy and I prefer fries that have a bit of softness in the middle with a crunchy exterior. They had a couple cajun spices peppered on the fries, I think. Probably the only order of fries I haven't finished in a loooong time - just too charred.
Cheeseburger - comes with pickles, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese. Quite a few toppings for a pretty affordable burger. The burger was juicy - similar in consistency to those they have at shake shack and pretty large at 1/3lb.
The interior was set up with a diner vibe; very, very clean and cozy. Once you enter you pass through some tables to order at the back. The staff are real friendly. The receipts don't automatically ask you for tip if you're ordering take out, so you'll have to make a separate tip.
An older hispanic man seemed to bring out all the orders; he was very friendly and attentive holding doors open and going to fetch any additional requests. There seemed to be quite a few locals who frequent this joint that knew him well. I'd guess that the stellar staff have something to do with this location being rated so much higher than the other one. All in all a very pleasant and affordable experience.
Very good but not the cheapest burgers . Waffle fries were tasty also . Would definitely recommend it. Was on a day trip and it was near my hotel .
