Had dinner here last night for the first time with some dear friends of ours. The food was amazing and the service was on point! I had the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly! I think this is my new favorite steakhouse for now. Highly recommend this place!! Two thumbs up!!
PERFECTION, From beginning to end. Steak perfectly cooked,OYSTERS rich buttery deliciousness don't miss this treat!!! 3 cheese crab mac cheese WOW .I can't say enough delicious words to describe this amazing dinner. You must experience it yourself
AMAZING. The service was impeccable to start. We went for HRW so we started off with appetizers. The redfish salad is to die for and so is the slab salad. The bacon sausage and hash browns were amazing. Then the steaks were perfectly seasoned. Oh and the brussel sprouts were crispy and great. The cajun vinaigrette made them amazing. We got all 3 desserts to try. The pineapple sorbet was the perfect refreshment and the chocolate cake was sweet without a toothache. The banana pudding was good and i dont even like banana pudding.

Came to Georgia Jamesfor Houston restaurant weeks was one of my best dining experiences, so many unique features to the menu items. From the slab salad with a unique cheddar blue cheese and bacon lardons to the smoked redfish dip, perfectly tender filet and the pineapple vacherin dessert. Everything was PERFECT!
The flavor of the food was really good, unfortunately not all of it arrived hot. We were seated a long way from the kitchen but based on the plate temperatures it seemed like they don't use plate warmers. Too good of a place not to try again though. Also, superior cocktails, very inventive and well balanced.

Usually good service and always great food. The porterhouse is amazing as well as the brussel sprouts. It's pricey like all steakhouses but worth it.
Our group had a wonderful experience trying Georgia James during Houston Restaurant Weeks. We specifically had the smoked redfish dip (so amazing, I could have eaten a quart of it lol), sausage and hash browns (the potatoes were incredible), hangar steak (yum) , 8oz filet (seasoned and cooked perfectly), chocolate cake (my favorite), banana pudding, and the wine pairings. The service was world class, and the restaurant wasn't dark, stuffy, or overly formal. It's a nice setting in a room with a wall of windows. The outside natural lighting at dusk creates such a warm and wonderful mood.
Great food and service. Great selection of wines. They might add some creativity to their cocktail menu. Alex and Jonathan are great waiters. It was so nice to have a long meal without any rush at all. Return 11/25/23 good as usual except for surprise undisclosed charge of 3% for credit card. They said the charges were accommodating new credit card charges. Odd. Credit card fees to restaurants haven't changed in decades.

THE best steak house in Houston (Sorry b&b).
Service is incredible, the menu is extensive and has something for everyone. All steaks are cooked perfectly to order, sides are to die for. Make sure to get a few sides to share, all of them are incredible.
Drinks are a must! The bar really crafts some fantastic drinks. Sit back, and enjoy.
It’s never disappointing to have dinner here at Georgia James. Whether it’s just to reconnect or to celebrate a special occasion. Georgia James always rise to the occasion. So far the favorites on the menu are The R-C Ranch bone Marrow. Cajun Baked Oysters. Bone-in dry aged Ribeye is definitely a go to for a shareable portion. The Helper is a Mac & Cheese on Steroids and the Potato Gratin is a good side too.
Houston staple - great environment and steak is to die for. Don’t hesitate to try everything you can and definitely splurge on the long bone ribeye! Great date spot or place to celebrate any occasion. Cocktails are also very good. I do miss spotting Chris Shepherd here though!
Went to Georgia James for a friend's birthday celebration and I was beyond pleased with everything that occurred during our night. The space was not very big but everyone was able to be accommodated. The service was paced well which allowed everyone to enjoy good conversation as the various courses were brought out. The drinks were mixed well and the Old Fashion was on point. Everything we ordered was delicious especially the Long Bone Ribeye and Steakhouse Helper. The banana pie was a delightful dessert. I look forward to another visit.

Wow, wow wow.
Classy, beautiful, the food was on point.
From the lump crab, to the wygu steak. The steak comes, with its own, certified papers. Thank you all for a good Father’s Day.
This is my favorite steakhouse in Houston. It never disappoints.
Sides are shareable and generous. Steak is cooked to perfection. Get the ribeye, and thank me later.
What a great experience from beginning to end! We decided to ask our waiter for the chef inspired Baller Board. This was really a wonderful scrumptious experience. We enjoyed everything on the board and cooked to perfection. Everything was unbelievably delicious from the king crab legs to the meats and sides. I must also say the cocktails are freaking great! Last but not least the staff are very attentive which makes a night like this so perfect! Thank you Georgia James!
I have visited Georgia James 3 times in the past few months and they have all been great experiences. We always get the mashed and fried potatoes because my wife loves them. The pork belly appetizer is our favorite and you can’t go wrong with any of the house cocktails.
The steaks are great. We’ve ordered the strip, zabuton, and ribeye and they are all great.
On our most recent visit this Saturday we did leave a bit disappointed. We ordered porterhouse and on the strip side of the cut there was a membrane (ligament, or tendon) not sure what it was. It made the strip side of the porterhouse hard to chew and eat. It tasted great but I had to spit out the steak a couple of times because I could not chew trough it. Keep in mind if you order one of the larger steaks since they are a bit pricier and you could probably have a better experience with the other cuts.
All in all it is still a great steak house that I would recommend to anyone.
Decided to have dinner here to celebrate my husband and I 9th Year Anniversary. This is a steak restaurant that is farm to table with portions that are big enough to share. This was my husband’s second time dining here and this my first. His first time dinning, him and his party ordered a board and he stated they enjoyed everything on the board. The food and wine was very good. We ordered a bottle of the Corazon Del Sol ‘Los Chacayes’ Malbec, The Slab Salad, Classic French Onion Soup, Fried Holmes Chicken, Fried Brussel Sprouts, Smashed & Fried New Potatoes. And for dessert we decided on the carrot cake. The service provided by our waiter Alec and the restaurant was wonderful.
Wow wow wow. We haven’t dined out much since the pandemic. Making the trip out from Boston, we decided southern hospitality would be the way to start being “normal” again. Boston food is pretty meh and the fine dining scene is pretty subpar so it really isn’t worth risking getting sick over.
But Georgia James was definitely worth it. Incredible experience both with food and service. Our waiter (who looked like he was the star of a Nordic tv show) reminded us of what fine dining was all about. We had a fun evening filled with delicious food and great service. He wove tales of the history of the restaurant and sourcing of ingredients amongst informative details of the menu. Really outstanding. Ordered the long bone aged steak. Crust was perfection. Suggested medium and it was finally done right (most steak places can never get the temperature right).
A night to remember. Thank you !
