Food was a bit pricey but pretty good! Service was good and staff was nice. Not that big of a place and tables had reserved signs but we were able to get seated quickly.

Come eat here!!! Don't skip it... So I've had Indian food before and it was fine but this was sexy lol.. best way of describing. It was beyond delicious.. the food incredible, the staff was very attentive. They asked if you needed explaining and explained each option of rice and naan. Never felt rushed. The restaurant is clean and lighting is perfect. Food was delivered in good timely manner and looked very appetizing. I wish every restaurant followed this model. Great parking for the time being. Don't hesitate just try it...

#JoeFoodTour #RiceMilitary #WashingtonCorridor #Indian Surya Indian Restaurant is a must-try for anyone looking for delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including classic favorites like butter chicken and biryani, as well as lesser-known options like dosa and vada. Love me some saag paneer. The flavors are bold and well-balanced, with just the right amount of spice. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with friendly staff who are happy to make recommendations. Highly recommend! #HowdyFromHouston #ThePropertyJoes #LivingLifeInHouston

One of the best restaurants in the city!!! Hands down.
AMAZING FOOD! My two personal favorites are the Chili Chicken appetizer, and the Prawn Mangalorean. The fried cauliflower is fantastic as well.
Even despite crazy inflation, and an insane rise in food cost, labor cost, and every other cost associated with running a restaurant, the prices are insanely fair for the SUPERIOR quality of food you will eat here. A premium product does require a premium price, but the value instilled in the food is worth every single penny spent.
Great staff, that are all very friendly and attentive. Fantastic ambiance and overall a very clean, and welcoming establishment.
I love the policy of no cell phones too! The owner has a focus to get humanity back to their roots of having a quality sit-down dinner, without the glow of your phone across your face the entire time. More places should adopt this policy, and many of the other policies of this restaurant.
I do also highly appreciate no children being allowed in the restaurant. As someone who wants to often get away from the norms of everyday life, it’s so nice to escape to an intimate and quiet place.

My taste buds are still excited. I could smell the fragrance of the food from the moment I stepped into the parking lot. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed that it was elegantly simple and the server was courteous and pleasant. I ordered one of the lamb dishes and it was amazing 👌!!! I would recommend this restaurant to any one who visits Houston and is looking for some flavourful food to eat❤️❤️❤️

Wonderful experience!
I wouldn’t normally leave a review for a delivery order, but felt an exception was due. Every single dish we ordered was amazing, portions were plentiful, and tastefully prepared. Compared to the more “well known” & more expensive establishments in Houston Surya is absolutely a must try top competitor!

I travel for work, and often have trouble finding excellent Indian food in the cities I visit throughout the country. Thankfully, I didn't run into that problem in Houston!
Surya is the place to go for flavorful, thoughtfully prepared Indian cuisine in an upscale yet comfortable environment. I've started every meal here with the delicious vegetable samosas, which feature a delicate, flaky pastry and a perfectly spiced filling of potatoes and peas. I'm totally addicted to these.
I'm typically a fan of chicken curry dishes, and I've had the Chicken Mangalorean and the Chicken Korma, both of which are delicious. Chicken Korma is one of my go-to dishes at any Indian restaurant, and Surya's is among the best I've had. Rice and naan compliment the curries perfectly.
Finally, the service is impeccable. On my first visit, I noticed the chef-owner, Sheel, making the rounds and conversing with his regulars, of which there appeared to be many. When I came back for my second visit, he remembered me from the last time and came over to introduce himself. Even though I'm only in Houston for a short time, Sheel has made me feel like a regular myself! I wish I could stay in town longer, if only to visit Surya more often!

SURYA is our go to Indian restaurant every time. Not only does my family love it but every guest we bring or we send they also have the same comments. The food is always amazing, delicious and served by great people that take great care of their guests. Check it out you will love it.

The food is very good. I rate it as one of my top Indian restaurants. Great atmosphere. Kind of strange the rice is a separate order and cost.

Excellent food and restaurant! Wow! The only Indian restaurant in town that is polished! They have been always very cleans and the ambience is very cozy. The owner is professional and takes care of his business very well. The food is divine! Many people don’t know this, but, the chef has been a Michelin star rated chef and the wall on the right with the photos on the way to the restroom has the Michelin star award framed if you’re interested in seeing!! I was happy to see the wall that shows all the people Chef has served over the years including celebrity stars from Hollywood! I loved the one with Tina Turner’s autograph! Houston is lucky to have this restaurant!

In a non descript strip mall, this beautiful restaurant serves the best Indian food in Houston. While Aga's is good for grilling, this restaurant is the best for curries . We started with cauliflower fries, the batter was perfect. The shrimp mangalorian is to die for. It lingers in your taste buds the way an amazing story lingers in your mind. We also had perfect chicken bhuna and lamb. The chef is from the Taj restaurants in India, one of the best restaurants in India for high end dining.
Yes, they dont allow kids, they dont allow shorts, but that is clearly spelt out in their web site. I guess their space is small for a kid to run around, but their food is amazing.

This place was the best Indian food I’ve had, the service is phenomenal, very fast and the food is shareable sizes. I’d 10/10 recommend.

I arrive at 5:00 for opening and was the only guest. My food was AMAZING and the service was attentive. I wished I wasn’t eating alone so I didn’t have to leave any food behind due to the large portions. The atmosphere is casual with a hint of modern elegance. I will definitely return.

We liked every single dish we tried. I have been back multiple times.
They are typical Indian yet unique in flavor quality. Very creative chef.
Sorry for the people who don't like the children policy. I personally hate eating with other people's kids. So, thank you.
