I decided to go to Flying Saucer b/c I wanted to find out why the lines were wrapped around the building every year. I purchased two pies for the Thanksgiving holiday: a lemon creme and a pecan. They were the bomb!! Now I understand why the place is always so busy
Your apple pie is the best apple pie I have ever had! I love how soft the apples are and the filling's flavor is amazing. Not to mention the crust is buttery and crispy! Cant wait to try more pie flavors!

My sister was married to one of the sons of Marilyn Edgin (then Wehring), who was an original co-founder of the Flying Saucer Pie Company. We never had to stand in line, but I remember seeing them walk through the door during the holidays carrying all kinds of pies and wishing we could just bypass the turkey for a slice of strawberry pie. They were pure heaven!
Strawberry fruit pie, chocolate pie 🥧 blackberry pie, coconut pie 🥧
Pie to die for
This place is ran by a hard working staff that always ensures each pie is made perfect. Always delicious, highly recommend!
I have been coming here for a long time. I’ve never been disappointed. Stood in line the day before thanksgiving and was able to get what I went for. My strawberry cream pie and key lime. I’ve never tried anything else from there so I can’t speak for the other flavors they have. I give them thumbs up.
Tradition that my Grandfather started many many years ago. Took up that responsibility when he passed 13 yrs ago. My Mom passed away this Halloween and couldn't stop our tradition. I love you Mom and will continue to get these great pies for our family. Love this place!!!
The coconut cream pie never disappoints IMHO...took one to the office yesterday and it is gone. The crust is so flaky, and I love the toasted coconut on top!
If you love coconut cream pie...
Some of the best coconut cream pie that I have ever had. LOVE this place. People are really nice, pies are awesome. ESPECIALLY the coconut cream pie :)
Excellent pie! I stopped by.... Excellent pie!
I stopped by to try a slice of peach pie, it was delicious!
It was so good that I decided to take a whole pie to a meetup with friends later that day.
Best Strawberry Pie EVER!. Love these pies. I just wish the lines weren't so long, but that goes with amazing pies.
Strawberry and Chocolate cream!. The best pies in Houston, hands down! Very long lines during Holiday season, which people are willing to stand outside just to make their Thanksgiving and Christmas complete. My father-in law used to stand in line out in the cold sometimes for these pies! If you are ever in the neighborhood, I recommend you stopping in to try your favorites!
Love the key lime. Didnt really care for the strawberry and wipped cream.
Blackberry pie. It is a long way from our house (Inner Loop) to get to the Flying Saucer Pie Company, but gosh it is worth it. All the pie company does is make pies, not really surprising given the name - but it does not only make pies, it makes the best pie I have tasted since visiting my Grandma several years back and she brought out her special apple pie.
If you like pie, you have to go here they are the best you will find in H-town.
Longstanding Houston favorite. This is the place you see on the news every Thanksgiving with a huge line of folks waiting to get their pies. The strawberry pie is another seasonal favorite...and their prices are very reasonable
So, for this review, I need you to know that my mother passed away this year. She has been gone for about 6 months. This pecan pie almost brought a tear to my eye! My mother used to make pecan pie just for me during the holidays, and the recipe was tailored to my liking. Her health was declining for the past couple of years, so it's been a good while since I had a pecan pie. I guess I just didn't feel like grabbing one off of the Walmart shelf. I was so surprised when I bit into this delicious treat. It tastes like the way my Mom made it! It had just the right amount of sweet for me. It was sweet without causing instant sugar rush. For a few minutes while eating a slice I just sat there remembering the good old days.
Long story short, the pecan pie here is fabulous and I recommend it. We tore this pie straight up!
I got the pecan pie. It's light and fluffy and not too sweet. Pecans are fresh and toasted just right. I love it so much I should marry it!
Incredibly delicious!
We were pleasantly surprised with not one but FOUR of these beautiful creations. We already devoured a chocolate (I don’t even like the chocolate and i loved this!), the cherry is almost finished, and the apple & strawberry pies are in the freezer… for now.
I’m already excited about Thanksgiving!
Thank you again for everything!
Came here relatively late and ordered about 3 pies for $18-21 each! The place has a large kitchen with several pies made fresh each day. We got apple, coconut cream, and strawberry cream pie! The pies were sweet with a nice crust. The cream was sweet but not overwhelming, which is great!
Fortunately we came at a time where the line was short, but I have heard it can get long, so be prepared!
Before eating a piece of some heavenly pecan pie from this place, I was not a fan of pie. I’ve tried giving apple and pecan pie a chance, but they were always too sweet for me. And from various places too, including House of Pies !! But then my brother brought home a box of pecan pie from this place… it was the MOST delicious pecan pie EVER !! And this was on 11/09. Wish it was close to home so I could just pull up anytime I want one. But I will order one for thanksgiving !! I’ll risk being in traffic for it lol
Thank you, Flying Saucer Pie crew, you have won my heart with a delicious pecan pie !
It's a Houston staple around the holidays. Today, we had a few different slices, the best of which was the Egg Custard. Then, the Boston Cream, Coconut Cream, and the least favorite was the pecan.
The best service! Of course, the best pies in Houston!! Seriously, if y'all need pies today or any day, head or over 436 W Crosstimbers St, Houston, Texas! Don't delay as their pies are FLYING out the door. It's the holidays, and do not take call-ahead orders. 5-STARS
Well the press on this place is all good. Is this the best pie I've ever had? No. It is good enough to stop by and get you some though. The 4 different kinds I tried ranged from well above average to just average. The pecan and Dutch apple were good enough to buy more again. The strawberry and plain apple were just good. This pie place is good enough to go back to again and try more of there varieties. Worth the trip.
I absolutely LOVE their pies! The Key Lime is my favorite, and they make a really good pecan pie too! The only pie I didn't like was the egg custard (my taste buds just didn't like it) but all the other pies I've tried were delicious. If you try to get them during the holidays (usually their busiest times), you'll probably end up having to wait in a long line and you can bet it'll be a good while before you finally get your turn with the cashier. I would suggest getting the pies at least a month or two before the holidays so you can store them in the freezer, and they'll still be great once it's thawed out for serving.
Price compared to another pie location is slightly higher, although per slice is less at $4. Per slice. The chocolate pie was very good, which is the one flavored pie I haven't been able to find at the other pie place that was at least just good, not even ok.
I popped in really quick before closing, the young lady that helped me was quiet and soft spoken. The prices are a little higher than advertised online, okay a lot higher, but the pie is tasty. So maybe instead of a whole pie, buy an individual piece if you're short on cash.
Best pie I’ve ever had!!!! I’m so in love with the quality of the pie.
Very fair and reasonable prices too!!!
Can’t wait to come back!
