The service is always friendly! This is our go to spot for a great burger! the waffle fries are always crispy and delicious. The sweet potato fries are also amazing. we eat here at least 1-2 times a month. they have delicious yet simple burgers.
Burger is good, like the fresh cut fries, nothing special about the burger. Ordered a double chz burger and side of jalapeños with fresh cut fries and a kids burger and chips for $23.
The old fashioned burger is very good! The waffle fries are AMAZING and super crispy! Great service, decent amount of seating.

Ordered the Blue Cheese burger and my partner the Hickory Burger with mushrooms and grilled onions. Both burgers were good size for the price. Soft buns, juicy but not to juicy and out well together.
Onion rings were on point. Even better when dipped in their BBQ sauce (sweet and tangy, nice zing to it)
The cashier was friendly, well mannered. Took some food to a old couple in there car. (Was sweet of him) 😍

Clean burger place with friendly staff who listen and care about you. The burger is made fresh from scratch, never pre frozen meat. Real cheese, from a real cow. Mooo.! Always fresh. Truly a delicious great hamburger, you will be back for !! Mo. ;) - Enjoy
Good old-fashioned diner style burger place. Great prices for home style burgers that taste high quality. Juicy burger but the bun held up really well. The waffle fries were crispy and had a little bit of seasoning that worked really well. Two people can sit down with decked out burgers, drinks and share fries. For about $30. Prices are pictured as of the date of this post. Would have cost $50 at Pa**a burger. Will be back!

Reliable and always cooked well, this is one of the friendliest burger places near the galleria. The food is always satisfying and priced well. The only thing preventing me from reviewing higher is the inconsistent quality of the lettuce. It's never bad, but it's a coin toss of freshness.
They have good burgers here. They move pretty fast while taking orders, very efficient. Everything came out fresh.

I've been a soutwells fan my entire life. They have been in operation nearly 40 years and are a houston staple. My first job was at the memorial location in high school! :) For those that have lived near one of the locations for any length of time knows southwells is the neighborhood go-to for good food at any time of the day thats delicious and affordable!! When I think of what a burger (or chicken sandwich) should taste like, southwells is what comes to mind. What I appreciate most is how the food isn't greasy and they don't drown it in condiments. The meat is always hot, the buns are always warm and toasty, and the veggies are always cool and fresh, and overall the sandwiches are the perfect size. I've never walked out disappointed with my order! I'm a fan of order-at-the-counter restaurants and southwells steps it up a level by bringing your food to you at your table so you don't have to listen to an annoying loud speaker calling out orders while you eat. The staff is always very friendly and the orders move qiluick (even at its busiest you won't wait more than about 10 minutes for your food to come out) The prices are only about a dollar or two more than whataburger and much less than all other restaurants in the area. I rotate between the regular cheese burger and the chicken supreme 👌👌👌 the waffle fries are where it's at (be sure to ask for a side of the homemade ranch to go along with it!!) You won't be disappointed!!!
Best burgers in the area hands down! Fresh ingredients is what does it for me along with the friendly staff. Prices may be a bit high to some but I don't mind paying the extra few $ for a good burger. Their waffle fries and fresh cut fries are also good. If you are ever in the area stop by and give them a try. You'll get hooked!!

I had the bacon cheeseburger with a side of waffle fries and an iced tea. The burger was the perfect size. Plenty of meat, bacon and veggies for every bite. Clean place. And nice staff. I will be back and I will definitely recommend to others
This is my favorite old fashioned burger place in the city. Nothing fancy, just good food that it reasonably priced. The menu has a large selection as well, including great onion rings!
