We are from Arkansas and on vacation in Houston this week(Astros fans). We searched online for nearby catfish restaurants and found Sudies. We called and a lady by the name of Juana answered the phone. She was very friendly which helped in making our decision to go there. Once we arrived, we were greeted by our server, Daniel, and he is awesome! He was very friendly, always had a smile on his face, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Excellent service!!!! Not only was the service wonderful but the food was delicious. It was all you can eat shrimp night so my 6 year old son got that and I ordered the fish. My parents also ordered the fried catfish. I’m very picky about how my fish and shrimp taste and I was extremely pleased. The batter they use is great and everything is seasoned just right. Then to top it off, the bread pudding dessert was DELICIOUS topped with cream cheese and bourbon sauce. Also I love that it’s family owned restaurant. Anytime we are in Houston we will look forward to eating at Sudies! Also I like it that they give 10% discount if you bring your church bulletin in on Sunday! As a Christian myself, I was impressed by that. (We ate there on a Monday evening). Thank you Sudies for a wonderful dinner experience! We will be back!
Just moved to the area and was looking for a nice fish place to replace my old favorite place...this is my 2nd time here today and the food was delicious, just like the first time. The staff is friendly and efficient and the food arrived in a timely manner. Look forward to eating here again!
I had the lunch special duo with shrimp and oysters and they were amazing ! The shrimp fondue and hush puppies were also delicious. Definitely recommend this place!
The wait staff was so friendly! The food was delicious and a perfect temperature! Clean restrooms! Everyone was friendly and fast service!!
Did you say catfish. This place is an institution in pasadena been eating there since i was a little pup one of the best catfish houses you'll ever go to most of the stuff is alright but man the catfish is like little angel feathers tickleing your tounge ha! thats good eating boys and girls
Hadn't been here in a few years. It's Father's Day, so we were anticipating a long wait time, but to our surprise, we ended up waiting no more than 5 minutes to be seated. Our waiter Miguel was kind and, even though he was waiting on a couple of other tables, he serviced us well. We did feel it was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. We had the boudin balls to start, which were yummy! And the hush puppies they bring while you wait are so good as well. I ordered the Magnolia Seafood Pasta (the chicken and mushroom option), and my husband had the Catfish Conzumel. Both dishes were delicious. We also ordered the catfish with mac and cheese and cheeseburger and fries for the kiddos, which they ate up. Overall our experience went well and we'd visit again.
The place is Amazing, food is ALWAYS hot and fresh. No lamp warmers there. They make your food when you order. Let's talk about those yummy hush puppies they give you while you wait for them to cook! 😋
If you're in Pasadena definitely give this place a try. Portions are huge and the prices are right!

Our job hired them for catering. I can't eat shrimp due to allergies, so I was going to abstain from eating any food. However, the very kind lady - who clearly understood food allergies - told me that they fried chicken tenders AND fries in a separate thing of grease that did not have shrimp or fish fried in it. Not only was I so surprised that a CATERING TRUCK took advance preparations to feed people with allergies, they even knew enough to change their gloves when serving my food. Most food establishments simply cannot be bothered to do half of this but Sudies did. If I'm in the area, I will drop by and eat at the main restaurant!
We just sat down and Before we even received our food… Totally Impressed!!! Ms. Linda Is The Bomb!!! we just happened upon this place because I wanted crab legs so we went to Hooters first sat there for 10 minutes got a water and a tea, never saw the waitress again…so we left and came here completely different experience… Thank You Ms. Linda🫶🏼❤️🌹To Be Continued!!!

The portions are super generous! They have mastered how to fry the different types of foods they serve. The fried shrimp was perfect and the onion rings were the best I've had in a long time. Their fried okra was done right and not slimy. The free hush puppies were such a treat. All these foods were fried differently and the veggies did not taste like they were fried in the same oil as the seafood. Also the Mac and cheese tasted fresh and homemade. Really impressed with this place!
The meal began with complimentary hush puppies! They were sooo delicious! The catfish, fries and coleslaw were the best I've had in some time!
Then I ordered the banana pudding! This will sound corny, yet it is true. The banana pudding literally brought tears to my eyes! It reminded me of my mother's. Can't wait to go back!!!
Hubby said the bread pudding was almost the best he ever had! This was an extraordinary compliment for him! His Aunt Lenora was a caterer supreme back in the day when everything was made from scratch.
Also, wait staff and management were very friendly and worked together to ensure a wonderful dining experience!
We walked into Sudie’s after a funeral, completely unannounced with a large party of 40 people. The management team went above and beyond to accommodate us. Coya, our only waitress, didn’t bat an eye. She was amazing and worked extremely hard to take care of us. Thank you, your kindness made all the difference in the world at that moment.
We have been here twice and have had a great experience each time. They currently have a hand washing station at their entrance and they are quick to clean and disinfect the tables. Once cleaned they place a layer of butcher paper on the table.
Throughout the week they have amazing daily specials. The most common special it's the all you can eat shrimp. This isn't your typical all you can eat shrimp as you have the choice between regular fried shrimp, coconut, spicy and golden (which is shrimp coated in corn meal). The shrimp was really good (we tried a round of each). My favorite is the coconut shrimp but my wife thinks the all star is their cole slaw.
The service has also been to notch. On each occasion we have received great service. Their staff has always made the place inviting and are very attentive to your needs. During our last visit the place got really busy but their staff including the owner did an amazing job serving guests. I definitely recommend this place.
Met the family here for lunch & everything was great! We used to eat at the League City location regularly before it closed. This was our first time at this location. We’ll definitely be back! Good fried catfish is hard to beat!
I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. I haven't found anywhere in the area that has this quality of fried catfish
Most of our table ordered the fried catfish. One of us ordered the chicken fried steak. We were all happy with our meals. Our service was very good. It was busy, but not overly crowded . The price is a tad high, we thought, hence the four stars instead of five.
Had lunch @ 1:30. Pretty much cleared out. Had my Friday fish dinner.
Everything was excellent. The fish fillets were nice & moist, hush puppies were cooked n fluffy.
Lately, I have ordered fish from other restaurants & have been disappointed.
Came back to Sudie's after years of disappointment.
I will be back.
Excellent catfish and sides. The hush puppies that come out before your food are hot and delicious. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful. I will definitely be back.
