Truffle Wagyu Banh Cuon 5/5 I would come back for this ;)
Vietnamese Pizza 3/5 Crispy with good portion of shrimps but too oily!! :(
Tamarind Shrimp 3/5 Nothing special about it and the corn tasted cheap like they are from the canned
Egg roll 4/5 not bad but too little!!
Smoked Chicken Bo Bun 3/5 Too little meat and there are better places for this
The service was okay there was no fixed waiter for the table so it can get a little confusing. I appreciate that there is a dedicated parking area for this restaurant.
I visited Kau Ba with some friends in HT, and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere in Kau Ba was undeniably cute, with a cozy and stylish interior that immediately caught my attention.
I impressed with display of old pictures showcasing a lady with a car in Saigon from the 1960s. The vintage pictures adorned the walls of Kau Ba, transporting me back in time and immersing me in the rich history and culture of Saigon.
Chef Nikki and the staffs at Kau Ba were friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt well taken care of. Their knowledge of the menu and their enthusiasm in explaining the fusion of Vietnamese flavors showcased their passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.
Speaking of the food, Kau Ba impresses with its fusion of Vietnamese cuisine. The dishes were a delightful blend of traditional flavors with innovative twists, resulting in a truly unique and memorable culinary journey. Each bite was a harmonious balance of familiar Vietnamese tastes and exciting new flavors.
Stopped here for a quick lunch and I loved it. The food was delicious. It was simple and yet very fresh and tasty. It felt full and not bloated. The pork belly was perfect and the staff was very friendly. I look forward to go back and try different dishes. The whole experience felt very comfortable.
Great little gem! Food was fantastic. The ambiance was amazing. The staff was superb. Recommend eating here
i’ve visited kau ba a few times now and it is always a delight! really lovely food and very unique specialty cocktails. it’s a very chill vibe, both indoors and outdoors. you *have* to get the vietnamese pizza and/or f.o.b. crabs as appetizers! my favorite drink is the #lycheegang but you also must try the pho-loma at least once - it’s exactly what it sounds like, a pho-spiced paloma! the staff are also attentive and kind - spectacular service from anwen, cat, and george! definitely ask them for recommendations on drink pairings and what’s good. i love bringing my friends here on any occasion!
The lettuce wraps were amazing. The chef was detail- oriented and made the wraps exceptionally well! Wonderful place to eat! Shrimp poppers were delicious too.
I ate here for the 1st time last night, and Kau Ba exceeded my expectations! I sat at the bar and had the Lychee Gang cocktail and ordered the F.O.B. baby soft shell crab, snails, street food shrimp, and shaking beef. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. Jay, the bartender, did a phenomenal job. He made an excellent old fashioned and provided some good vibes to go along with dinner. I'll definitely be coming back!
Food was good and tasty. Definitely a bit exploitative which is a nice change. Atmosphere and service were impeccable.
A unique upscale Vietnamese fusion restaurant. It’s got a very fancy yet classic viet ambiance, with a beautiful outdoor patio seating area. Lots of different options to choose from, and portions are worth the price. The wait staff was very nice, giving us her personal recommendations. I tried the Nước Mắm Wings (Fish Sauce), and they were very good - not very saucy, but still flavorful and beautifully presented. I wouldn’t recommend the Vietnamese Ice Coffee if you like the authentic form, as it’s a bit watered down, but the other options looked good. Will have to come back and try their many choices!
The vibe is awesome. The server was obviously new, but the service is good.
We ordered several small plates Spring Roll 5/5, Homemade Dumplings 5/5, Street Egg Rolls 2/5, Vietnamese Pizza 5/5, and Lemongrass Pork Skewers 2/5. The fried items skewers and egg rolls were over cooked. The house made mango habanero hot sauce is fantastic.
Decent beer and wine selection. Nice craft cocktails.
I’ve been twice for brunch and it has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants ever. The duck salad is amazing 10/10! The Kho Quet, which is only on the brunch menu, is also amazing. I’ve also heard the cocktails are delicious. I think they recently had a change in management because the staff has changed, which led to some small problems with ordering and paying, but nothing worth not trying out the brunch.
Cute and delicious Vietnamese restaurant. The brisket pho is a bit smoking and delicious. The wagyu beef roll with truffle is worth trying. The crispy pizza is a bit oily, but taste good. The mini lobster banh mi can be skipped. I would totally try a different banh mi next time looking at what my neighbor ordered.
Enjoyed dinning here. Great service. Cocktails were interesting and well made. The outdoor space was fun but unfortunately had a lot of flies. Only downside to a great dining experience.
Ok, this is a must try!! It's usually super busy and now I understand why! I've seriously tried almost everything in the menu and I always have a hard time picking, so I recommend everyone get different things to try a little more. The chef even came out to greet us and make sure everything was good! The bartenders are so nice and fun, the music gave it a nice ambiance, the patio has nice heaters and cool lighting. It's a fun date night place!
The place Kay Ba was awesome.
My husband and friends picked this place on Google maps to have a quick birthday brunch.
Atmosphere in the Kai Ba was cute, interior was very cozy and stylish.
I also very enjoyed the wine glassware, very pleasant thin and light glass.
Thanks to our server Ross, he was very hospitable and nice.
He recommended Vietnamese brunch sandwiches, that everyone liked.
As for me the protein is a little bit to smoky, so I couldn’t taste the actual flavor of brisket in the sandwich.
However, I liked the place, I’m sure the other food is delicious
Thank you
This was really fun. A great experience. The place looks like a converted house which provides a very cozy setting. The bar area is really cool looking. They also have an outdoor seating area that looked really nice.
We were seated at a corner table for two and got drinks and shrimp spring rolls while we looked at the menu.
I got the chefs fried rice and she got the wangu rolls. And we also got the ribs.
Everything was really good.
I brought my mom here for a mother's day dinner, we started with the Shrimp Spring Rolls, cocktails - they do have a full bar and had amazing mezcal cocktails, the Chicken Sizzle, and Chef's Fried Rice with brisket, and ended with an amazing dessert and coffee!! The service was great and did not end there! Our car died in the parking lot, the owner helped us push it into a spot and was so kind to let us leave it overnight for the tow service to pick it up the next day! While we were waiting during the evening, we spent the time at the bar with the extremely nice bartenders and their restrooms are clean! Overall a top notch spot and would return without a doubt.
One of my favorite spots in Houston, the food is consistently incredible and the cocktails are amazing!! Happy hour is an amazing deal, and once you try the candied salmon at lunch you’ll be thanking me.
