First time having soulfood and when I tell you this place slaps, IT SLAPS! THEY LOAD YOU UP! I got the Friend chicken with collard greens and Mac n cheese as my sides!
Also got an extra side of broccoli cheese rice.
It's like a lunch line, walk in and choose your main and sides and pay at the end. It will be in a To-Go box whether you dine in or out. Food is always fresh!
Price ranges from $20-$25 a person, but it's more than enough for 2 meals in one! I went on my lunch break and let's just say work after that amazing meal had me slumped of happiness!
I have to eat here every time I visit Houston. One time I drove from Fort Worth just to eat for the weekend. The food is always on point. The staff is always friendly and fast. This place honestly could not get any better. I’m from Mississippi originally and this place feels like I’m back home in Grandma’s Kitchen.
Mikki’s cafe served some good soul food with hefty portions and great service.
The staff were super friendly and thoughtful throughout the entire experience. The restaurant itself was going under renovation, which resulted in limited seating and it was warm inside. So it would be best to take your food to go, which I didn’t mind.
I ordered the smothered pork chops with Mac and cheese and greens. Everything was seasoned just right and I felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. I really liked my smothered pork chop, but one was cooked to perfection and the other was overcooked. The Mac and cheese was real good and I enjoyed the greens.
I would stop by if I’m in the neighborhood and craving some soul food done right.
Came to Houston all the way from ATL to try out some food spots. Mikki’s was definitely on my to-go hot list after hearing my barber tell me how great it is. Well worth the visit. Best soul food I ever had in a good minute!!!
Over the top flavor! I mean layers of flavor in every bite. Everything from the Fish, Smothered Chicken, Meatloaf, Beef Tips, TurkeyWings…and MORE was full of flavor. It was 3 of us in our party and we dined in, the atmosphere was inviting and friendly and even a bit cozy!
We had an amazing time and the plates was filled to capacity with food. You have to bring your appetite to finish all the food they put on your plate! It’s a bit pricey
$$$$ but we’ll worth it. Two people can definitely eat and share one plate! Give this place a try and thank me later.

We've been going here since the day it opened with Jeanette(RIH)when she had open-mic nights on Fridays and I'd performed both spoken-word and rapp;) we love this place and the staff all together is so amazing. We've tried absolutely ALL of the dishes and many of the desserts, and every single one is superbly delicious indeed and the prices can't be best!!!
Oh and 20 thumbs up for their killer Kool-Aid as well 👍👍👍

Mikkis Soul Food exceeded my expectations with their friendly customer service and delectable dishes. From the warm greeting to the flavorful oxtails. It was a delightful experience overall. Highly recommended!
Where do I even begin. Flavor is everything and not a single part of this meal was bland. Rich slow cooked goodness in every bite! Highly recommend you check them out I know I wasn’t to try much more on their menu after this incredible meal!

Oh. My. Gosh! My mom & I was talking about how we haven’t had GOOOOD soul food in a long time & then Mikki’s popped in our head. I always went to the Greens rd location before it closed but was glad when I saw this location pop up! The restaurant is beautiful, clean & has lots of seating space. The parking is a little tricky, but you’ll find a parking space somewhere! The employees are amazing, very attentive & very efficient. The line wasn’t too long when I went but it goes fast! The food is absolutely AMAZING! We ordered 5 plates in total & every single item we had was packed with flavor & cooked to perfection. Let me just say though. I could not stop talking about the Apricot chicken! It was soooooo good! I need that sauce bottled up so I can eat it everyday! 😂

• Apricot chicken (Sunday special) w/ double greens & cabbage
•Turkey wings w/ macaroni & cheese, candied yams, & green beans

We totally enjoyed our meal at Mikki's everything was delicious and fresh. The Lemonade was absolutely refreshing.
This place was amazing. Great service and delicious food!! They also give out HUGE plates. When you arrive you’re in a line and you choose which plate you want with the main course and sides. I got the oxtails plate with rice, collard greens and green beans. THE OXTAILS ARE HUGE!!! They also got frozen drinks… imma have to get one next time. Great place!!
Stopped by to get dinner, it was truly more than I expected. Excellent customer service and staff. I was greeted with kindness and respect. My order was made to order and way more than I could eat. I won't advise anyone visiting Houston Texas to visit if your in the mood for SOUL FOOD, at it's Best. I'll return soon.. Love from the CHI!!!
Looked up the reviews and they didn't lie!! Such friendly staff and such big portions. They made sure our first time experience was a lasting one!!
Food: I had a craving for a traditional New Year dinner with chitterlings, black eyed peas, cabbage & cornbread. I also had a side of Mac and cheese which was average. You could tell the chitterlings were thoroughly cleaned. I did however think the pricing was definitely pricey for the dish ($35) for this particular dish.
Establishment: I went through the drive through during this particular visit. However, I have been inside the restaurant before and it has plenty of seating.
Customer service: Customer service is typically great during this visit and prior visits. Staff is generally welcome and receptive to meeting your needs.
Holy Mary Mother of God!!!!!! What in the actual heck is going on here!?!! THIS PLACE IS AMMMMMAAAZZIIINNGGGG!!! I’m literally crying while I’m eating this place is SO DAMN GOOD!!!! We came to Houston for a meeting and had dinner at our favorite Loch Bar but our client recommended this place on our way out and 😳😭🤤!!!!! I’m obsessed 🤩 TEN STARS IS DESERVED HERE! And the staff…they were all so sweet and patient because we honestly couldn’t decide! Thank You Sweet Baby Jesus for this wonderful food!!!
The food taste good but the entree portion was not fair for the price. It looks like a lot in the photos because it is on a bed of rice, dressing, or mashed potatoes but it's not.
For $20.51 there should be more Ox tails than dressing. I may consider returning for something else but not that. Specialty or not, portion and price go hand in hand.
Update 9/16 had the turkey wing over rice with macaroni and greens, and it was a hit! I would highly recommend it.

Okay ... soooo this place was suggested to me. When I arrived I was SUPERRR skeptical because of the location, signage, traffic in the parking lot... I was just about to cut my car back on and leave. I was on my way out of there... As I sat in my car debating the car next to me was coming back from the restaurant talking about how good the food was. The older lady spoke so highly of the food stating she had to get a plate to-go. I was like ohh no, Im going in there and trying this food now!
Going in the line was wrapped around the poles back to the 2nd set of doors. Once I was able to go in I was still a little iffy about trying this place but I must say... Mikki's was ran like a well oiled army boot camp!!! Very neat, clean, organized, and the fast paced. The staff was very open and welcoming. The first lady I came to was so friendly and explained how the plate options worked.
The food was indeed awesome and worth every penny. We tried the Salisbury steak, dressing, yams, mash potatoes with gravy, Mac and cheese, smothered chicken, meatloaf, oxtails, green beans, cornbread, and desserts. Hands down the oxtails was GREAT!
Everything was good but the meatloaf!
