Delicious food, chicken in E7 was a bit tough but minced chicken in E1 was perfectly cooked. Quality of vegetables is much better than a typical Asian restaurant.
Will be coming here again.
I enjoyed coming to this restaurant. Their beef and chicken satay are perfect. There was a long wait for our food that was not okay. It took over an hour on a non busy day. The ambience is good. The Thai ice tea wasn’t the best I have tasted. Although the red curry did not disappoint, the Thai fried rice did not justify the wait.
Best thai food I’ve ever had- recommend pad thai. Nice environment, okay bathrooms.
Unexpectedly very good. Thought I had made a mistake walking in when parking lot was empty. The restaurant was empty... Decided to try it anyways and was surprised at how good the meal was. Come to find out it is a fairly new place and so it 3xplains lack of customers. Highly recommend to sy least try it. Very close to Westheimer in Westchase area.
What can I say about Villa Thai. Appearances can be deceiving as it is hard to see from the road and you might miss it. Don't. The food is authentic and delicious. The green curry duck is superb. The menu is varied and I have tried almost all the dishes from appetizers to chef specials( multiple times). The owner Yut is a friendly and hospitable host but you might not see him as he cooks all the meals himself. I hear there is karaoke sometimes. Definitely worth trying it. I will be back(again).
Went for lunch with a couple of friends. One ordered Pad Thai. It looked different from most Pad Thai dishes I've seen. Pretty large helping. My friend ate every bit. My other friend ordered a curry dish, also a large helping and that too was polished off. He doesn't like mushrooms and the dish had some. He complained that the description didn't specify mushrooms. I ordered a lunch special of pan fried pork with Chinese broccoli. I had hoped to get a smaller portion. I did not realize that the lunch special came with soup and a spring roll, both of which were very good. My entree by itself would have been more than sufficient for me and I can vouch for it being excellent.
The server was polite and professional. The restaurant was very clean. We were the only table occupied though someone came in later for take out.
Overall, I would go back in a heartbeat.
This is hands down the best and most authentic Thai food my husband and I have ever had. We’ve been to Thailand and this THE place for Thai food, and we’ve been to a lot of Thai restaurants.
The food is not greasy at all; it’s healthy and has quality ingredients. The prices are fantastic. We met the chef/owner who is very nice. All people who worked there are very kind. Please check out this place. Yes, it’s tucked in a strip center, but don’t judge a book by its cover.
EDIT: did you guys close down? We’ve called many times, but no one ever answers each time we try.
This place is phenomenal! Whenever I’m in the mood for Thai food this is my go to place, even if I have to drive 30 minutes. I’ve tried many things off the menu and they are all great, fresh and good quality. The owner, Yut, is always there and he is the one that actually cooks. The place is in a small strip mall a bit hidden from the main road, but so are diamonds. Always have to look for them because they are rare finds.
We just moved here and were worried we wouldn't find a proper Thai restaurant. We walk in, beautiful decor, great service (thanks Rosabelle), apps were on point, entrees we're perfect! They made it extra spicy on request. And the dessert!! Coconut ice cream with tangy mango over sweet rice. It was all incredible!! We find our new Thai place!
I was worried when I walked in for lunch on the weekend and there was only one table of people. Waitress was very kind and attentive and the food was very good.
We tried this place last night and were impressed. Shared the Grilled Beef Salad, Steamed Ginger Fish and Stir Fry Broccoli. Everything was excellent! The Beef Salad was nice and spicy which was balanced perfectly by the flavorful Ginger Fish. The Stir Fry Broccoli dish was a substitute for another vegetable dish that we ordered because the chef came out personally to tell us they were out, but highly recommended this to us and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent - BYOB while they wait on their liquor license, so we brought our own wine and no corkage fee plus they brought me a complimentary glass of their house wine at the end. Tucked away in the back of a strip center off of Wilcrest, you might miss it if you are not looking. 5 stars!
I've enjoyed Villa Thai on 3 different occasions, with 3 wildly different groups, time frames and order preferences. We were impressed that all 3 experiences remained consistent in their approach and the results show. The staff is ready, responsive and helpful. The multitude of dishes I sampled were simple, crisp, with a good balance of flavor.
Our lone disappointment, albeit small, is the lack of life and liveliness. While the decor is simple, relaxing and uncluttered, I would suggest using some natural lighting (the blinds were mostly shut during our lunch and dinner experiences), some Thai music and maybe something other than golf network on the lone TV. -1 star.
New Thai restaurant that you must try.
Simply put, they got the flavors that you crave & need. Modern yet authentic food served here at Villa Thai
Yummy Thai food
The place is tucked away in a strip mall but don’t overlook it. The food here is excellent
The Asian pancake made with seafood or veggies are so tender, not greasy, and flavorful. Definitely a good choice. Curry is enriched with coconut milk, smooth and tasty. My pick is the vegetarian dishes. Tofu stir fry with basil leaves and green bean is super good. Generally tofu is hard to pick up flavor these are fried so they take on a sturdy crust and soaked up basil and fish sauce flavor.
Happy eating
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in Houston!
