Just went in for the soft opening. I’m in love with the barbecue. Some of the best I’ve had in town. The brisket is tender and the turkey is moist. Check this place out.

We were visiting the Houston area for vacation and stumbled upon this spot. This was such a cute atmosphere for a delicious hidden BBQ place. Inside you can order coffee from their coffee/beverage bar or order delicious, freshly smoked BBQ. They also have a large number of rubs and spices to purchase, as well as kitchen/cooking accessories, apparel, and other goodies. Super glad to have stopped in here to enjoy some good food before heading to the airport for a flight.
We ordered the chopped brisket sandwich with mac and cheese, and the 2 meat plate with smoked pulled pork and ribs, creamed corn, and the sweet potato and kale salad.
Aug-3: Awesome store with unique local and Texas products. Serious BBQ place. Brisket is cut thick, and is juicy with a just right seasoned bark. Ribs are not fall off the bone but very tender. Found the seasoning a bit more salty than I prefer. Pulled pork was moist and lightly seasoned. Cajun spicy Boudin sausage was just ok - neither Cajun nor spicy 😆.
Ate dinner Friday Dec 8th, 2023 around 6 PM. This place is in the midst of a neighborhood so you'd think grocery store upon first glance. Most of its products are items I'd associate with a rural TX store: wine, food seasoning, mom and pop cooking supplies. They do have a large cooler of water, soft drinks, and beers. The place was empty and so a little imposing; there wasn't a soul present when I entered the building. But a young man came from a back room and welcomed me. He took my dinner order - BBQ on Mac and a side of cream corn. BBQ was almost chilish but it was good. The Mac was very tender and the corn was yummy. 4 stars only because of the BBQ. food came out quickly. I made it out of there at $18.
Small country store feel, cozy vibes. You feel like you’re in your family’s kitchen eating bbq. Great flavors overall. My must-try recommendations is the Boudin sausage. You will become addicted. If you are feeling exploratory, try the smoked chicken with the sweet potato and kale side. The flavors together are magic. The service was amazing - You feel cared for and safe.
Laid back place it is a bbq place wrapped by a general store. Had the pit master platter. Enjoyed the food. Not a huge smoke flavor but brisket was tender, pulled pork was tender. Sides were ok.
Parking will be a challenge. Place is in the middle of a partial residential area. No parking lot. Picture is after we had hit it up.
This place is great and instantly became one of my favorite places. They have a general store full of different foods, most all chosen for their ingredient list being healthier and straightforward. The food is great. The young lady running the front of the house the day I went was amazing. She is fast, helpful, and all while handling the whole store at once. For sure, I am going to make this a regular stop. BBQ, burgers and steak...I'm in.
A fun spot that when you sit inside really transports you to a location far from the 610 loop. They’ve done a nice job of making this a local watering hole vibe + convenience store+ bbq.
Grabbed the brisket plate for lunch. Certainly recommend the brisket. Mac and cheese was also delicious. Green beens we’re not as good as the rest but that my be my personal preference.
My my my I have traveled the globe and eaten BBQ wherever it was offered, and let me just say this place was among the best.

The brisket was the best I have ever tasted. Great ratio of fat and lean parts. Wonderful smoke flavor and impeccable seasoning.
The ribs were exceptional and delicious.
And truly required no sauce at all. The flavors and seasonings were enough.
My meat came clean off the bone without it being overly cooked.
All in all if you're stopping in the Houston area, I strongly recommend you give Henderson And Kane a try. Trust me you will be glad you did.

This place knows how to do BBQ. The meats were all incredible and we vowed to come back for other meals. In addition to the food, the actual shop is one of a kind as well. You will not be disappointed.

A touch of nostalgia little store
It is such a cute mix of homemade/canned goods and regular store things. But more than likely someone is here for some BBQ.
The baked potato is the best (leave the butter on the side). The smoky flavor, tender bites with a hint of chew makes the perfect texture for a potato. If only I can figure out how it is achieved.
Meats and boudin are very flavorful just a little dry but I’d eat this any day.

We enjoyed another expertly smoked chopped brisket sandwich along with a smoked chicken sandwich moist and full of flavor from the always reliable Henderson & Kane. Excellent BBQ and sides plus tasty desserts makes this place a must-go for BBQ aficionados. The butcher meat counter is also good for picking up steaks. The general store offers an interesting, curated selection of locally produced foods, making it fun to browse while waiting on your order.

I had a brisket BBQ which was DELICIOUS. Fell apart while eating it and enjoyed the green bean and Mac n cheese side.
My friend got some more sides that were delicious as well. Just not my style.

I've eaten all the best BBQ in Houston and Henderson & Kane belongs up there with the rest of them. Most BBQ joints do one thing better than the rest of their meats but H&K nails all the meats.
The brisket is perfectly cooked, the fat is rendered as good as any you will find in the state. The sliced flat brisket was perfectly tender and moist, which is incredibly difficult to accomplish. The point brisket was rich and delicious. Huge pork spare ribs with a perfect bite and a nice seasoning and smoke that didn't overpower the pork.
Counter service was fast and friendly. Nice selection of beverages on tap and plenty more in the cooler. The whole store is a delight and I love the old school blues and bluegrass playing in the background. It really completes the general store vibe. Great selection of local and other merch made in Texas.
If you pull up to another BBQ place in town and it has a line out the door, get back in your car and drive to Henderson & Kane. It will be worth the trip.

I was visiting from Louisiana, and just happened upon this cute little place. I had no idea it was steak night, but I was happily surprised! The steak was amazing.. the char and flavor were absolutely perfect, and everything is locally sourced. I highly recommend the beef tallow if you order the steak. The sides were full of flavor. 10/10.
Just wow! The food was absolutely delicious. We got the Pitmaster Plate in order to get a taste of all the different meats - juicy brisket, flavorful beef sausage, tasty ribs, and more. I have to say that every single meat was well done, which is hard to come by. On our search of finding the best BBQ in town, taste testing 8 different BBQs of which none could fully measure up, this was finally the charm! Very friendly service as well and what a fun store concept with lots of locally made goodies. We will be regulars!
It would be awesome if all the sides, such as the mac and cheese, coleslaw and corn could be made lactose free!
Amazing customer service, tacos were tasty and the ribs were moist. There are lots of goods sourced in Houston or within Texas. My husband and I tried everything I got, and were both satisfied. My husband enjoyed the brisket taco and ribs. I love the avocado taco! We both enjoyed the cream corn that has a bit of heat and cheese. We had the banana pudding and was happy to see bananas in it besides the vanilla wafers. We enjoyed the meal that I was not able to take a picture to post here. Below is a picture of the goods that I got which included food for my pup. I also, did a review on Yelp that described the customer service which was quick, easy and Personable (Thank you Maddy)! This is an establishment I would recommend for everyone to visit!
We had dinner at this fantastic place October 23rd and lucky enough to enjoy the steak night; 16oz Ribeye and 8oz Sirloin including sides. Everything was perfect cooked, tasty and we spent a pleasent evening there. This place is such a gem and we can only recommend it to everyone. Thank you so much for having us.
