Very good. Byron's is more a smokehouse with tables outside than a full restaurant--his boudin is amazing, the brisket is great and tender. When we visited, he mentioned odd hours, so I'd call ahead to make sure that he's open, but he's totally worth it!

I wanted a chopped beef potatoes but there was none because the oven he has doesn't work and the previous oven was stolen. Overall the transaction went smoothly. I ordered a chopped beef sandwich instead. I will come back in the future!

Byron's is a throwback to a style of BBQ I grew up with in Southeast Texas. Ribs, links and boudin are crafted with care. The juicy, garlicky beef links are the closest I've found in Houston to the classic "Beaumont-style" link. Spicy boudin was also as good as any I've had in town. Spending a bit of time chatting with owner Byron Johnson ended up being one of the most pleasant and interesting Saturday afternoon's I've had in a while.

Wanted to give Byron his props on the East Texas style links and the boudain. Like many small establishments service and quality can be spotty based on a number of factors.
