It's better than many restaurants that I tried before. Smiling staff with good food. Prices are reasonable. I tried hot house sake. It wasn't amazing, but it's still worth trying.

Sashimi and sushi should be simple. At their core, they're not much more than seafood and rice (and nori plus a little extra, in the case of sushi). It seems like nowadays, lots of resturaunts like to put their own spin on something that has been mastered for years. I can appreciate it, but i often miss the originality of sushi without the... extra originality... I suppose. I'm sure most people reading this are familiar with the sushi available at your local HEB topped with Hot Cheeto dust, but I'm happy to report that here at Sapporo, the sushi is artfully (and simply) constructed. Rice and fish, yes (or shrimp, or calamari, or otherwise), but at its core, they have remained true to what good food should be: a good, simple recipe, made with heart and soul. The meal I ordered was the Sushi Combo B, and it was exactly what I hoped it would be, perhaps a little more: elegantly presented on creatively molded ceramic with an orchid garnish to add some otherwise absent violet coloring, a delectable side salad and miso soup with soft tofu. Even the environment left very little to be desired, with the Christmas music playing in the background, and the cowboys game quietly on the TV, Sapporo's offers an Asian-American fusion environment without compromising on the food. It might even lend itself well to a first date spot. I'm only here on business, but I still highly reccomend this place to both visitors and locals alike. 10/10, would go again.

This place is AMAZING!!! The sushi here is on point and the staff are super nice and friendly. We got all specialty rolls. They have a nice variety to chose from. I was here on a business trip and we liked it so much we went two nights in a row. If you’re looking for a place with great sushi and friendly staff, look no further than Sapporo. I will definitely be back here next time I’m in Houston!

Been here a handful of times now to form a opinion. The volcano roll is my bf’s ultimate favorite roll from here, I absolutely love their soft shell crab roll and hand rolls. Squid salad isn’t something I’d order again from here, but their dumplings and seaweed salad is a recommendation from me!

Update: My sister asked to make a reservation for 16 people for a birthday celebration and they were so accommodating. They even put us by the windows like she asked. Such great people and food. Above and beyond! Came here for, the first time, before a concert. Such great service and delicious food! It was happy hour, which was nice, but that peach sake is a must! So good! Street parking of course, so definitely give them your business. I love sitting by the windows.

Total: $61 (affordable during happy hour) sushi: spider roll, shrimp tempura, crunch roll, shaggy dog. The spider roll has an acquired taste. I ended up sending it back (you have to pay for it , even if you don’t like it). Everything else was good ! I recommend this place. Others: miso soup, seafood soup, Shirley temple, water.

Decent sushi. Wasn't disappointed but wasn't thrilled either. Atmosphere wasn't the greatest but they have a decent menu and Sake options.

Had to make a stop at the cvs near this restaurant, quickly looked at reviews and saw it was worth a visit. Ended up going with the combination rice that was amazing and the Hot Mama roll recommended by my waitress. Food was good customer service was good, and staff had smiles on their faces that made it feel as if you were welcomed. Very much a must visit.

Had a great experience at Sapporo. The waitress named (Rian or Eian) is spectacular. She’s the most friendly, patient, attentive, really courteous and polite server I had ever seen. She was honest and forthcoming with the questions pose as well. The fried rice was unexpectedly delicious. Takoyakki was also delicious. My friends love Unagi so much as well. Eian was able to get more sauces for them. Will definitely come back when we get to visit Houston again!!!
