The tacos were fine, and pretty cheap. The bacon and egg tacos were greasy. Less than $11 for all 4 tacos. I waited 16 minutes for 4 breakfast tacos. I’m not sure why they took so long, because the service was very quick for everyone else. Also, I noticed the salsa had a lot of oil in it.

Place has the best authentic Mexican place around. If you’re looking for tortas, tacos, and consomé this is definitely the spot. The place is not a high end restaurant but who needs that for a $1.50 taco

Today I decided to stop at taco La Bala The beans were OK. They did offer prompt service They were a little runny for me. The rice was missing a little bit of personality and flavor. The Barbacoa tacos were OK. I liked them. The meat was tender and it was flavorful and the place was packed so I guess people do like them. I do also know that they have four different locations.

Possibly the best tacos in Houston. The first time I went I had the Barbacoa and cochinita tacos and I had to go back so the second time I had chorizo and egg/ Bacon and egg breakfast tacos. Fantastic. One of my favorite spots.

Great little spot for breakfast tacos. Fast service and reasonable prices — about $2.25/taco. I got the bacon and egg, potato and egg and barbacoa taco and they were all great with their green salsa.

Delicious flavors. I felt good bang for buck. The red and green salad were spicy and tasty. Some of the meat felt dry and overbooked. The al pastor (aka trompo) meat has a nice flavor profile.

Authentic Mexican food straight from the mother land. The tacos here are delicious, the tortas are to die for and the menudo is great on a Sunday. Expect this spot to always be busy, the prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is fantastic. Never had a bad meal here and I'm picky as my wife is Mexican!

Nice and fresh. Very popular. The meat is not the most tender but it’s alright and cheap. Several people begging outside.

Authentic Mexican food. Their food taste like when I'm in Mexico. It doesn't take long for it to come out. Update 3/6/2022 - Came here on a busy Sunday and the place was packed with super long lines and surprisingly the line went super fast and people left super quick. The place is well maintained by the cleaning crew because as soon as someone leaves there they are cleaning and picking plates up. The food is still amazing and delicious.

Finally!!! Amazing barbacoa! Been looking for good barbacoa for awhile and finally found some amazing barbacoa. The soup was amazing too. The staff was nice and it was very quick to get our food. Can't wait to go back and eat again.

I absolutely love, love, love this place! Aside: fun story time. I was once here at night, a woman was walking around asking people for 10 cents. The only thing is that if you said no, she wouldn't leave your table she would just keep standing there until you gave her something. I wasn't having this so told her that she would have to leave us alone otherwise I'd call the cops. She called me several very rude words (the kind that starts with a c) but shuffled away. After I left Tacos La Bala, she followed me out to my car and started banging on my window. I just drove away but for anyone dining here alone or dining here at night, I would just be wary of your surroundings. And apparently don't threaten to call the cops, haha. None of the servers here really speak English so when I tried to explain to them what had happened they didn't understand so I'm not even sure they were aware of what happened. Back to the restaurant. I love this restaurant - did I say that already? Parking is easy; there's a large strip mall with a 99 cent store and a planned parenthood (so eclectic) so there's never a dearth of parking. Usually I get one right up front (helpful in avoiding homicidal women asking for 10 cents). The place has bars on the windows, and it's not much of a looker from the inside either. There's a selection of tables and booths that are already equipped with paper towels (which you will need) and red and green salsa. You walk to the back to order under this sort of hut; menus are up there as well. Barbacoa Tacos SO moist - I know moist isn't a very fondly looked up on word but in this situation it's absolutely positive and necessary. The flour tortillas, you can tell, are made fresh in house. Whatever I order I usually also order a 1/2 order of guacamole and top my tacos with this and the complimentary salsa verde. Beware - the salsa isn't for the light of heart, it's incredibly spicy and will have you drinking gallons of water but it is SO worth it. The kind of spicy where the flavors really come through; it's creamy and rich and silky. If you want, you can just buy the stuff and take it home - for less than $3! At similar restaurants like Ruchi's, a comparable jar of their less stellar salsa will run you over $8. I love the christmas decorations; very cute yet minimal.

Good new hidden gem. Tried the tacos Trompo (pork) and beef fajita. Had a chicken burrito and friends had shrimp tacos. Maybe I am getting old, but the 3 salsas available were darn spicy and I found myself wishing for a red salsa I could tolerate to put on the tacos. Tasty and affordable. Give it a shot.

It's an authentic Mexican place with fresh and tasty ingredients! The corn tortillas they use for the tacos are amazing. They don't fall apart or get soggy like most corn tortillas.

I wish I could have these breakfast tacos everyday. I have come here for lunch over the years and thought their tacos are pretty good but their breakfast tacos are on another level. A pretty generous serving for the price and well seasoned.
