Review The Oregon Grille - Hunt Valley

A meal here is elegance. You can't go wrong with any appetizer or entree. But it's the standard of service that truly stands out, kind, pleasant, happy wait staff. The piano plays throughout and is soft but noticable. We have had several birthday parties, anniversaries or quiet dinners The bar is quaint and cozy, fireplace lit, and full of ambiance. The bar is well stocked and excellent wine service. Handicap accessible.

My husband and I came here for brunch to celebrate our first married Valentine's day and everything was absolutely delicious. I got the french toast with orange cream and it was crispy on the outside, SO GOOD. I also got the sugar cookie martini and it really tasted like a sugar cookie, which was amazing. Also, the outside is so pretty, it's the reason I wanted to have a meal here! I'm definitely coming back and eating outdoors when its warmer. There's cute bridges and string lights and a little stream, just gorgeous and romantic. Covered in snow, it felt like a winter wonderland ❄️

I had the oysters on the half shell, entre special lamb chops, side dishes garlic mash potatoes, grilled asparagus finished off with cheese cake as dessert... everything was excellent! The lamb chops should be on the menu all the time, some of the best I've had, really good. And the service, it can't be beat, everyone was awesome. Thank you!

The steak was good. The applewood bacon was the best I’ve ever had. Charming atmosphere 👌🏾 IG: @spartanpursuits

Beautiful ambience. Great for romantic intimate dining. The wait to order seemed pretty long. I didn't get to place my order for an hour. Our main waiter was really nice though.. Now for my food, my first piece of salmon (as pictured) was grilled and LITERALLY had the after taste of the grille! The waiters at first didn't want to receive my complaint about the taste. They kept saying it was from the grille. I stated, while I know that it is grilled, it actually tasted like the black stuff ON the grill, not just the flavor that a grill gives food. After going back a forth for a bit about the best thing to do about this, the kitchen made a new piece in the oven instead. It was much better.

Great service from our server Michael... Very professional and good recommendations on brunch menu items. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. Will definitely return for dinner sometime.

I’ve wanted to try this place for a while. The price we paid for the meal we got was not consistent. I wouldn’t return but they also told us that they are being sold and will reopen with a completely different look in about 6 months. So I’ll wait for that to build a reputation before returning. Our waiter was great!

Took my wife out for a birthday dinner. It was wonderful dinner and atmosphere. We are originally from Oregon. I felt it would make a good location for her birthday dinner. Excellent service and covid safety precautions. The food was beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. Filet mignon was a perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend the Clams Casino appetizer. To end the evening, the piano player lightly played Happy Birthday as the waiter brought a complementary piece of cake to my wife. Thank you Mike (our waiter), and the Oregon Grille for making my wife's birthday dinner special.

This is a five star expensive restaurant, really? We had reservations for five o'clock and when we got to the restaurant no one was at the front to seat us. They finally found him and we were seated. The toilet in the ladies room had been replaced and was installed crooked so made it almost impossible to use. Had cream of crab soup which had no crab meat in it, more like a seafood bisque, sent back and the put a pinch of crab in the center of soup bowl. The ala carte side pf brocollini we received came out cold and over cooked, I had to return it and did not replace. They were out of Lobster and signature fish dish, even though they were on the menu. The waiter never mentioned this until ordered. We ask for wine to come with our entree, and had to ask manager for wine after we never received our entree for five minutes. My prime rib was not fresh cut but reheated by grill, made it dry and flavorless. The manager offered us a free dessert, like that was going to make it better. My hot fudge sundae came melted with a only a drip of fudge on top. This was the most expensive dinner I had that felt like I was at a fast food restaurant. So disappointed with a restaurant that used to be so nice.

My wife took me here my birthday. The place was beautiful, the food amazing, and the service incredible. Our waiter Todd was outstanding and the manager Bill was great. We highly recommend this place.

1st time there after numerous suggestions from Scott Garceau. My wife and I celebrating our 3rd anniversary dinner. Jessie James was our waitor, treated us great. The food was outstanding, the warm environment was top notch. I will highly recommend your fine establishment to my friends and family and cannot wait to return again. Thanks again, Roger of S/W Baltimore.

We ordered the surf & turf, prime rib, and baked Brie. Every single dish was amazing! The steak was the largest steak I have ever seen, and cooked to perfection. Our glasses were promptly refilled, and our bread often replenished. The ambiance was fantastic, with a live jazz pianist playing throughout the night. Could not have asked for a better post-medical school graduation dinner!

Fabulous "special event" restaurant. Our server Jeff H was wonderful. His suggestions were spot-on, his attention was just right, and we enjoyed his humor. Out steaks were among the best we've had in Baltimore, and the wine list may be the best in town.

We had excellent service! The manager David greeted us warmly and showed us around the restaurant as we'd never been. Our waiter Larry was top notch! Made us feel very well attended to without overbearing. Made suggestions on the meal as well. And the food was great! Their rolls were so delicious! Hope to go back sometime!

Everything was delicious; the salmon was a little dry but was flavored really good. The staff was amazing & the service exemplary. It was my first visit & is very deserving of a re-visit!!

A bit too pricey if you plan to be a regular, but a must for special occasions. The staff is outstanding! Extremely friendly and accommodating. Everything was top notch. Would like to return to try the outdoor patio.

When paying $35-50 for an entree, I expect perfection. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Not even close. We started with being seated at the bar because we were 15 minutes early, even though the restaurant was virtually empty. Next, I ordered lobster bisque that was lumpy with flour or cornstarch or some other thickening agent. There was also a film on top...yuck. Our Grille salad was okay and the crackers with tampenade and swordfish mousse was good. But then I ordered my filet mignon cooked medium and it came back well done. After getting the waiter's attention, five minutes later, I sent it back. But by the time it came back, my twice-baked potato was cold. And the steak, although cooked correctly, had very little flavor. My husband's filet was cooked fine, but his lobster tail was overcooked, so much so that he had to saw it off the shell. Our waiter was a kind man, but clearly having a difficult evening keeping up with the menu and staying on top of the food. I was extremely disappointed in the entire experience. Shouldn't we have had a manager come to our table to apologize when my food had to be sent back? We walked out of the restaurant thinking...never again. Highly overrated!

Ate in the bar next to the fireplace. The waiter, maître d and bartender were fantastic. Made the evening that more special. Husband had never been to Oregon Grill but he absolutely enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. I couldn't have been any happier to share this great venue with my man. Thank you team Oregon Grill. P.S. Never had a meal here that I didn't like. Give my compliments to the chef, again!

My husband brought me here for my birthday last night and I was amazed. The food was delicious. My steak cooked perfectly. The truffle mac and cheese was delicious. The tapenade prior to our dinner coming coming out was a nice treat. The recommend the Brussel sprouts dish. My husband had the Cowboy Steak and he loved it. I don't know what else to say it was all excellent.

Just came back from The Oregon Grille. It was an awesome date where we had an awesome waiter, excellent food, enjoyed the relaxing piano playing in the background, & beautiful scenery. This is absolutely a perfect romantic setting & I loved being treated to such a fantastic evening. Thank you for making my night, this was quite the experience!

Food was uninspired and poorly presented. It was Sunday evening and I felt like they were rushing us to leave despite the fact that it was my daughter's 18th birthday. The night was a huge disappointment and it couldn't possibly be worth the huge bill which I both expected and received.

Grim thanksgiving. Stove top stuffing, cold food, lousy desert, terrible gravy......fifty bucks a plate! Never, never go back. Ever.

I have seen a lot of poor reviews before going last night so I expected the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. We usually only go here for special occasions or when it's a business dinner( somebody else is paying). We had the restaurant week menu and both were pleased with everything. Service was very good too. I would suggest they lower the 4.5 mark on the wine list but in all it was very good.

Leave the coat at home and hit the bar. Awesome bartenders and great happy hour specials.

Not so much.. Older man who sat us was rude. I ordered pepper crusted steak with a wine sauce but all I could taste was pepper, just whole peppercorns that made my eyes water. It was a nice big cut of meat but for $50.00 a plate it should have been perfection. The appetizer we had crab and shrimp bruschetta was passable. The look of the place is great but its not inventive enough with its food to cost as much as it does. It felt like we were paying for the bowties on the waiters more so than a meal worth the price. Next time we're looking for a nice meal someplace newer more inventive and less pretentious would suit us better

Looking forward to a celebration - very dissappointing. We had a party of 6 for dinner on April 26,2014 at The Oregon Grille. We arrived early and were looking forward to a drink in the bar before being seated. we were preparing to grab a seat when the Maitre D' came over and told us to move because he wanted to sit someone who was not even there (the party did show up he was just rude about it). We ordered drinks again a problem martinis were small and side cars were not necessary but they allowed for less sloppyness i suppose. Our waiter all the sudden presented us with a check and tried to summon us away without even excusing himself, he to was just rude.

We then were escorted to the second floor to a long table against the wall so the ladies had to slide into the table to be seated. We were present for about 5 minutes before our waitress showed up to take drink orders. she did that and brought them then we ordered and hour and a half later salads arrived after I found our waitresas and asked her to find our food. She found it and announced that it would be soon. Then she came back and said one of the orders was wrong and had to be re-prepared. We had to ask for water and decided not to temp fait with any additional drinks. The food finally came and 3 dishes were cold but no one complained as we did need to eat so we could drive back north to Harrisburg PA. In general the food was awful but those with cold dishes who were the ones celebrating decided to take it home to try a recoupe something.

The evening was bad and it was capped off by bad service. I have been to The Oregon Grille many times and this one was the worst. I have always thought it was one of my go to places in Baltimore county I am not so sure any more. This was a two strike night...

Old Fashioned, and not in a good way. While the ambiance is very pleasant as was the service (with one notable exception), the food wasn't any better than going to Outback and I may be overly harsh to Outback with that statement. The salads, while tasty were overdressed, and the wine was overpriced for the quality. My wife's salmon on shrimp risotto was under cooked and the risotto was not up to par. My own prime rib was tasty, but I expected more. Dessert was delicious. I only ate half my prime rib and they boxed the rest (or so I thought). On opening my lunch today I discovered only half of what I had given to be boxed up.

In general they have an old fashioned approach, which is a nice touch, but when dining out in 2013, the food needs to be at a higher level than 1957.

I will not be dining there again

That was absolutely by far the most disgusting meal steak me and my family haver eaten!!!!! Where do they get off charging those prices for a steak so tough and tasteless. Save your money and time and go to the capital grille for some real steak!

The Oregon Grille is beautiful inside and out. The jacket requirement after 5 pm makes the place very formal. The menu has a lot of seasonal favoraites and all of the things you would expect in a fine restuarant. I especially enjoyed the french onion soup and would recommend the prime rib.

Not bad. So I just went for RW and had a good time. The food was pleasantly prepared and the staff was on top of things. Wine selection was kinda of ehhh, as was the beer selection. Then again, didn't go for the beer.

I'd go again, but def before 5pm. I don't remember there being a jackets required rule and I am def NOT a jacket kinda guy. They actually gave me one to wear. Sorry, I am all for dressing for dinner, but I need to be comfortable when eating.

Went during Restaurant Week and I liked it!. Restaurant week wasn't fabulously impressive, but it was an opportunity to try the menu at a lower price. I like the extensive wine list, but I felt like there were too many Cali wines on there. Let's get a little bit more local? Personal preference, of course.

Salmon tartar was perfect and the warm lobster salad was as expected. Warm berry tart was simple but delicious. The last two courses were not thrilling, but good, all the same.

Would I go back? Sure, for a special event and regular menu. Don't forget, guys--jackets needed after 5 pm.

Place has lost a lot of luster in the past five years. Other than the asparagus risotto, there's nothing impressive about the Grille these days.

This ain't the Milton Inn. Over priced and pretentious. The food is great but I'd only go when someone else pays. Not worththe price.

Standard pre-post disclosure: I've only been to each of these restaurants once, so the reviews only reflect that one experience. I ate a lot on Saturday. It was a good day. A busy day, too. My first meal (I'm not counting the 7:30 am cheerios) was brunch

There is dining and then there is going out to eat. One goes to The Oregon Grille to dine when one wants the atmosphere, the superior service and exquisitely executed food. Just off interstate I-83, The Oregon Grille is in the heart of Maryland’s horse country and is so reflected in its décor. The pathway from the ample parking lot has lawn jockeys in their winning colors guiding your way to the garden and porch entrance of the restaurant. The wood paneling with saddles and bits in the foyer, the bar with foxes and game fowl, and the dining room with artwork featuring horses lays homage to the region.
