We ordered tandoori chicken, several kinds of Naan, lamb mushroom curry, and basmati rice. The food was excellent, the food is always fresh (not frozen and thawed), and the service was awesome. We couldn't finish everything, so we took the rest to-go. The owner came over to greet us and explained she has another location near Glen Cove, so that may be where we're headed next. Definitely recommend trying this spot! *NOTE - They close for a bit between lunch and dinner, so come back after they reopen 😀

Tried this on a recommendation - DELICIOUS! The staff are very friendly, and the Rogan Josh lamb was just right. We ordered it medium spicy, which was perfect heat. Also the garlic naan was authentic and fresh. We'll be back again!

Really great deal for lunch!!! 10 bucks for lunch at a place this is just great, soup bread(Nan) and a dish and rice. And its really really good. At least 6 chooises. Traditional Indian lunches, there is also a large menu too Plus the people who work there are super nice and good at there job You can get beer and wine there, Indian beer is hard to find for me

The butter chicken and garlic naan were wonderful. I wish that they were in my town. Service was courteous and went out of the way to help. Will eat again when I'm in town.

We came for the lunch special. For $11 you get a cup of soup in addition to the main course. I had some kind of lamb curry with an egg in it. Everything tasted great, I just wish the portion size was ~20% bigger - but for a lunch meal I guess it was ok. Be warned that if you request "mild" spice, they basically put 0 spiciness in it. Other members in my party thought it was a "3/5" experience and that the food could have been more flavorful.

This restaurant is a family-owned gem. First of all, the place has such a welcoming atmosphere. You walk in and you're greeted with smiles from the folks who made the menu and cook the food - they put their heart and soul into this place. It's like stepping into a second home where the aroma of delicious Indian cuisine makes you forget all your worries. As far as food, they serve up the most flavorsome curries, aromatic spices, and tender meats that will make your taste buds dance with joy. I prefer to get the butter chicken or tikka masala with chicken, but you can do what you like because it’s amazing either way. Whether you're a die-hard fan of spicy dishes or prefer the milder ones, House of India has got you covered. And don't even get me started on their naan bread. One more thing that sets House of India apart is their commitment to quality. You can tell that every dish is made with care and attention to detail. They use the fresh ingredients and it truly shines through in the final result. So, if you're looking for a relaxed, friendly, and enjoyable dining experience, House of India is the place to be. Support this charming family-owned restaurant, and trust me, you won't be disappointed. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like part of the family from the moment you step foot inside.

Came here on a Monday night to find it pretty empty. The people I came with said it’s their favorite local Indian restaurant. We ordered a samosa appetizer that came in a bowl and sauce. I didn’t have it due to gluten but they said it was a little spicy and delicious. We all then shared the aloo gobi, chicken tandoori with curry sauce, okra and black lentils. I loved the aloo gobi. Slightly spicy and very flavorful! The tandoori chicken was moist and flavorful and didn’t need the sauce so glad it came on the side. Okra wasn’t crispy enough so we told the owner and she is teaching her son how to cook things properly. The family owned restaurant has a great vibe and you can talk to the owners directly about the meals. If you’re lucky you can even try the mom’s own personal curry. But only if you’re really lucky. Will be back again! We had so much food we took most of it home and happy to have seconds.

So delicious. We ordered vegetable samosas, which were tender and not oily. The filling was very fresh and flavorful. We also ordered cheese pakoras, which were excellent with tamarind chutney. For our entrees, we had lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala and palak paneer, with was exceptional. Many times palak paneer is like baby food. This was so perfectly seasoned and the spinach retained it's texture. Really good. We also had naan and poori. Service was very sweet. Looking forward to returning. ..

Best Indian food I've ever had. The owner gave us what seemed like special attention, but she seemed to do the same for everyone. I'll say it again, and I've had a lot of Indian food: best Indian food I've ever had & something for everyone.

Two people for lunch over $65 - that's pricey! Food was tasty and the service was good.
