We made a reservation, and we were so glad that we did because the restaurant was full and the only available seats were at the bar.
We were warmly greeted by the hostess Nicky, and we asked if we could get a booth near the back, because the jazz group was excellent but too loud to carry on a conversation if near the band.
John was our waiter and he was outstanding, and both he and Nicky came by to check on us throughout the meal.
We had raspberry pomegranate margaritas, cider sangria, and rose wine by the glass.
On Tuesday night they have half price on numerous tapas, and anything with a * after it is full price, so we were able to order several tapas at a 50% discount.
We had the following tapas:
-Baby lamb chops: it was $4.00 per lamb chop
-Southern fried chicken biscuit- with glaze on the biscuit which was excellent!
-Chicken lettuce wraps
-Smoked salmon and cream cheese on toasts (the photo has two, but you get three, and we were so hungry that I tried to take photos before my friends started eating.
-Short rib sliders
-Pumpkin ravioli special: which was more of an entrée size and incredibly delicious!
-Steak and mashed potatoes, with amazing flavor!
-Grilled churrasco-style sirloin steak with sliced crispy onion rings, chimichurri sauce
-Braised short ribs with la mancha sauce, cool tomato fresco and mashed potatoes
-Happy Birthday Chocolate Cake
There were three of us dining and with 9 tapas' ordered we left very full.
John brought out a slice of an incredibly moist chocolate cake for our friend's birthday with a candle in it which was a nice touch.
We enjoyed the meal so much, that we made a reservation at 7pm tonight, Wednesday, to come back and try some of our favorites and also experience some of the other items that we did not try.
Wednesday is karaoke night so we are very much looking forward to the entertainment!
Embargo has entertainment all year round, unlike other restaurants that are only seasonal.
Thank you for a wonderful meal!
The food was great ! I went for dinner with five friends of mine and everybody enjoyed the food so much ! My favorite drink is red sangria and my favorite food is steamed mussels!
Great tapas restaurant, can't be more enthusiastic about this place. Menu is incredible, so many items, too much to choose and everything we had was fantastic. Great cocktails also, but more focused on vodka than whiskey. Please add some good rye.
Service was great, the items flowed well, although I would have preferred our lighter seafood items before the beef braised short ribs. Everything was great, especially waffles and chicken I had for dessert. I couldn't pass it up.
I love a good tapas place with good cocktails so this restaurant fit the bill. It was St. Patrick's day so all the drinks were green. They even had gluten free strawberry shortcake. It was a real treat, along with the coconut creme brulee. The scallops were just enough for me since I wasn't that hungry.
Good food, but even better service! They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great meal and that they were safe with my shellfish allergies.
Small tapas and drinks 🍸 had fun on karaoke 🎤 🎶 night (9pm Tuesday's) enjoyed shrimp 🌮 stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes
Great drink menu- highly recommend the Peanut Butter Cup Martini! Food was delicious!
I travel all over the country and try not to stop at the traditional commercialized places so i stopped off at the emBargo. The selection of martinis were amazing. Great food and atmosphere. Fast and friendly service in a great area. Come check them out if your in the area.
So we pretty much got the whole menu. Sat at the bar and started talking to the bartenders. My fiancé and I are getting married in West Dennis next year, and we wanted to get some dinner while we checked out the area. The ambiance and banter was great! The bartenders were back and forth with each other. They checked on us constantly. The food was amazing. Everything came coursed out perfectly. The pictures are of some of the menu items we got.
Such a nice feeling upscale place....can't beat the happy hour and drinks are well made
Great place. Great bartender who took care of us. Wonderful mix of food and drinks! Tapas, hot and cold, a myriad of drinks... worth it.
David was a great bartender. He made great suggestions and was knowledgeable of the menu and very welcoming. The food was delicious...my husband and I ate SO much (4 dishes and 2 desserts)! There is something for everyone on the menu.
Great food and service! Tons of different tapas options to choose from. Atmosphere can’t be beat as well. Upscale lounge with modern decor and music. Would highly recommend the wagyu sliders!
We were 6 people and ordered a ton of items, all great (lobster roll, sushi, lamb chops, Caesar Salad, lobster mac n cheese, sliders and a few other items that I can’t remember ). Some of us are very picky eaters and self-proclaimed “foodies.” Each of us was very very happy. Service was outstanding, atmosphere very cool, delicious. NOT your typical Cape fried food tourist destination.
It's hard to find a place to begin to explain my experience here. I will start with my first impression. Who knew that there was a little piece of Miami on Main Street in Hyannis?!? That Miami vibe was the immediate first impression upon walking through the door. The look, the feel, the vibe it was all there!
Moving onto the drinks and the amazing selection of Martini's. All of them were delicious, we had a party of 4 and we had several different ones between us. Topped the night off with the Oreo Martini and that was a very wise decision.
The FOOD... First of all the list of toppas they offer is huge. Second of all the food was outstanding! We tried several options and doubled up on a few of them because they were so good! I wish I could've fit more in my stomach because there were so many other options that left my mouth watering.
I will finish off with the service we received. The service was absolutely right on track with the food and the drinks. Our server Michelle was very knowledgeable of the menu, her personality was amazing, and she helped make the already great experience even better.
So much so that at one point we asked to speak to a manager. I felt bad for a second because 99% of the time that means something is wrong but this was not the case. Come to find out she actually was a manager so we could've just talked to her but we wanted to pass on the good feedback higher up the chain. The person that came over to talk with us was the GM and he was in the middle of waiting tables himself.
Let me say that right there speaks volumes for the restaurant. To have your upper management down in the trenches shows that they vue their team and they aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and do want needs to be done to have a successful night.
We talked to the GM about our experience, our thoughts on the restaurant as a whole, and our amazing server. He was very thankful for us sharing that with him and it felt really good to be able to offer positive feedback in a business that you rarely get to hear the good things in.
To close this out I will say if you are already on the Cape or are planning on going you should ABSOLUTELY make sure emBargo is on your list of places to go!
I've designed two vacations to the Cape based around this place. Embargo is why we come out. It never disappoints. The food is always terrific, the staff is always patient, helpful and kind. And the drinks are always the best in the area.
Ate here this 4th of July. They had 1/2 priced tapas that my husband and I split. The stuffed mushrooms 🍄 were amazing as were the mussels steak and cheese egg rolls and cod fingers. With drinks the bill was only 50$. Looking forward to our next visit.
Really enjoyed our after dinner appetizers and drinks here. We visited in late October, off season, but still beautiful. The atmosphere and employees at emBargo were exceptional. Loved the pumpkin martini. Would highly recommend visiting here!
