Visited this place with a small group of friends for the first time tonight. Great service. Our waiter was kind. I got the lamb with Plaintains as a side and also the beignets. I wish the menu had prices lol. But I found the amount of food to be very reasonably priced. Most of the people I was with were able to have leftovers. The lamb was okay but the Plaintains were absolutely amazing (lamb needed more sauce, not just on the side). I would go back just for those! The beignets were really good as well (more like puff puff though?). Im particular about soda and I liked that they had fanta orange (which is my favorite). They had ginger ale and other cultural drinks too (ginger root drink). A small place but it was cozy and unique. [I also tasted the cassava leaves and that was good too].

The food was good nothing out of the extraordinary. There is plenty of parking on the street. They have one table outside if you decide to sunbathe and eat simultaneously. But otherwise the inside is nice and cool. I was not a fan of the nems with meat in it thought they had a funny taste but the vegetarian one was much better!! And the meat for the rice was tough. But the drinks were very nice 👍🏾

Taste: 5/5. Chez Dior was my first experience with Senegalese food, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. When my Aunt (who can speak Wolof) ordered “Nams” I was expecting some sort of traditional Senegal cuisine; however, fried spring rolls came. Apparently, Vietnam brought fried spring rolls to Senegal, and the people there loved them so much that they kept them around. In addition to that, I got the Yassa Chicken entree. I found the lemon-onion stew to be super tasteful and the chicken was very moist and came right off the bone. Wonderful food. Service: 5/5. The guy running the front of the house was super nice. He was there when we needed him and was gone when we didn’t. Vibe: 5/5. The most BANGING restaurant music I’ve ever experienced. I NEED their playlist. Beyond that, a chill and casual spot. Cost: 4/5. Not the cheapest place ever, but if you wanted to you could get 2 meals out of most of the entrees. I don’t know much about Senegal, but now I know a little bit more about its food and culture from visiting Chez Dior. I really enjoyed the experience, and will revisit if I’m ever in the area again.
