We only stopped in for a flight of beer because we had to drive down the mountain, but what we tried was excellent. The seasonal sour on draft right now is awesome, as is the chile beer. Both drink real easy and make perfect summer brews for hot days and BBQs. We left with a growler of the former and a six-pack of the latter, plus a bottle of the pepper Bloody Mary mix they use from a small place in Littleton. The bartender was absolutely great, sharing samples and showing us some ways to make the brews extra fabulous, like mixing the chile beer and the Bloody mix to create a michelada or salting the rim of the glass to bring out the sea salt flavor in their current sour. He also helped us figure out the best options for bringing the beers we liked home to Colorado Springs, showed us where to find what we wanted in the case and saved us the trouble of having to go to the register and pay for it all by checking us out with our tab. We were stoked we chose to pop in and try this place out and we're even more stoked that we've got some souvenirs in the fridge to drink over the next week. We will definitely be back next time we're up wandering in the mountains.
What an awesome place. Great beer and great people. Idaho Springs is one of my favorite little towns. The new GM Tom is one of the best in the industry. The only thing that can make this place better would be an ice cold Coca-Cola.

Having been here multiple times, including dinner on our wedding day(!) Has able been great! My husband and I love the IPA and a half, And we recently tried their Pumpkin Ale (also amazing).
Usually when we come here I get the "Build Your Own" Mac&Cheese. This time I got it with green chili. (Other options are: chicken,bacon,red chili, mushrooms, jalapeños...) And my husband got the Philly Cheese steak. The steak was cut and cooked perfectly on it! And the sweet potato nuggets are definitely worth a try. We highly recommend this place if ever you find yourself in Idaho Springs!
Came here after a white water rafting adventure for a deserved beer and some lunch. I've grabbed a beer and an app here on the way back from a mountain trip but this was the first time eating a meal. I had a Tundraberry beer which is very fruity but good for the summer. At the suggestion of my rafting guide I tried the chicken and waffle sandwich which was quite decadent but pretty fantastic. Friends enjoyed their burgers, Mac and cheese and BLTs...my GF friend said the gluten free flatbread she had her blt on (an option for any sandwich or burger) was one of the best she's had. Two non beer drinking friends didn't love their margaritas but hey it is a brewery.... Good marketing to offer a free beer with a meal to rafters!

We're in Colorado for only a week. Do you think we could convince you folks to move to Texas? Texas would welcome you with open arms! We're already looking into renting a house in Idaho Springs for next year's trip so ee won't have so far to drive! We tried several different beers! It's the kind of beer you can roll around in your mouth to get the most flavor possible! We also enjoyed many food items including the green chili burger, the fish & chips, fish tacos, the green pork chili, & the homemade bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapenos. It was so good we went back two days in a row. It's too bad we have to head home or we would fit in one more trip!
Popper hamburger with fries or rings really good but pepper come sliced and unseeded so a little hot. Buffalo burrito and green chile good but would have preferred buffalo meat chopped or shredded not ground.
Great choice!. Travelled through here with my family and was happy to find this place. Family friendly. Many healthy options. Though most people come for their excellent beers, also notable was their prize-winning root-beer... Real home-made flavor! the fish tacos were out of this world, and the salad greens were good and fresh.
The roasted pepper bisque is savory and SPICY, the kind of heat that catches you in the back of your throat & makes you chug your beer faster than you meant to. It was the soup of the day when I ate here, and I took a cup home with me! The salsa was sweet & disappointing after all that heat. The mozzarella pesto burger was savory and strange but in a good way. PLEASE don't put ketchup & mustard on it like the girl next to us did!! My fiance wolfed down his Western bbq bacon burger. If I find myself in Idaho Springs again, I'm definitely returning! Service was great too. :)

A pitstop to Vail netted this pleasant surprise!. As my wife and I pulled off I-70 for a bathroom break, we stumbled upon Tommyknocker's, which I immediately announced as being a "chain restaurant." Boy was I wrong! After entering and being seated, we were taken in by the brewery on display right before our eyes. We were in a hurry to get to a Bluegrass concert, but that didn't mean we were disappointed! The food was wonderful! My wife got a chimichanga and I got the chicken&waffles, both were excellent! The homemade chips are great, but they don't tell you about them unless you ask (?!)
I purchased a 6 pack of dark nut ale (brewed with maply syrup) and a dark rye ale, and both have been wonderful! I'm a big fan of dark beers and this was really a great place for it.
Overall, I would return here to explore more of the menu, but you should try it out!
P.S. I honestly believe that half of the wait-staff was high during our visit, just sayin'!
Tundra Berry Ale It is awesome. It has a great taste. The smell is arromatic. It is awesome. The food is great also, when I eat.
"B+". Good food and good service. Menu is a little generic but has a few standout items ( Hawaiian pulled pork tacos). Be sure to take home a growler of fresh brew. I recommend: Butt Head Dopplebock -- complex and fruity with strong canteloupe and very smooth despite the 8% ABV. The only con is the slightly over-touristy atmosphere.

We've been told Tommyknockers has some awesome home made soda and we were anxious to give it a try. We ordered one pitcher of their home made root beer. It was great! I am a sucker for home made and unique sodas. I wouldn't drive all the way up here just to try it, but if you're in the area you should certainly stop in and give it a try. We started off with a plate of Motherload Nachos. If you've read many of my posts you may have noticed I am a nacho lover. I often order nachos so I've tried many varieties. These nachos are seriously the greatest nachos in the world. I can guarantee you won't find better nachos in Colorado. The chips are made in house and taste like Doritos. So imagine... Doritos with cheddar cheese, chili con queso, pico de gallo, black beans and a side of guacamole (you pay extra for guac). I can't even
Great beer, food & service. I came in with a group of seven and our server was polite and efficient. There’s a large beer selection, and the flights come on funky carrying trays. The food is flavorful and filling with large portion sizes. Pictured here are the green chili Mac and cheese (melt in your mouth has been taken to a whole new level) and the jalapeño popper burger with a grilled chicken substitute and truffle fries. There are entirely too many menu items that I’m still thinking about wanting to try so I can’t wait to come back!

Great atmosphere with a rustic feel and warmth. The food was full of flavor and presented tastefully on each plate. The beer will stand out to you because of its taste and smoothness. The waiters are very efficient. Highly recommend.
The fish and chips are amazing here!! I would order that again for sure. And their beer flights are a great choice too. Fries are just okay, but the onion rings are amazing! We had great service and sat outside which was covered. Also bought a beer glass at the gift shop, and some cans of root beer as well. I would definitely come again!
This is the place to go to kill time and to have smiles. Definitely fast service and great menu options. I love the layout of the place, it is so decorative and it lends itself to large and small parties. This is a go to for a “custom” brewery and a local spot 🙌🏽
My first trip to Idaho Springs so I definitely had to stop in at the Tommyknocker. The place is huge and has plenty of options for seating. There is also a cool mural painted throughout the main dining room. Started out with a fruited ale and it was a perfect way to start the day. For my meal I had the pork wontons and a cup of pork green chile soup. Both were delicious.
The grilled cheese and bacon sandwich was very tasty! And the soup that came with it was also very delicious. The coffee stout was a good tasting stout as well. I recommend this place.
