I was in the city for a convention and decided to stop by for a nice meal with my girlfriend. Boy was I in for a treat. The food was absolutely divine. The appetizer was surprisingly good, the steak was to die for, and let me tell you, the peach raspberry crisp was the best top off to a meal I've had in a very long time.
All the while the service was impeccable. We were treated well, our water was always being topped off, drinks and food came out quickly, and even the crumbs were scooped up from the table in between courses. There were so many small details that made our experience amazing. Back at home now but I'm looking forward to coming back next year.
Excellent service, delicious food, and amazing experience. While I've experienced higher-end dining, this was a first for my fiancé. Upon arrival, the host immediately greeted us and made us feel welcome. Our table was ready with no wait and was in a beautifully lit area away from the bar and kitchen. This kept the noise level down so we could enjoy conversation without having to raise our voices at all. The restaurant overall was at a very comfortable volume.
After being seated, the busser and other support staff greeted us wholeheartedly and made the dinner feel very special while not overwhelming (I've been to places before where I was fussed over too much as a guest, which made me feel uncomfortable).
Our server was kind, knowledgeable, and patient. He did his presentation flawlessly and ensured we had everything we asked for prepared perfectly. Questions about preferences and allergies were asked in a thoughtful and non- condescending manner.
For appetizer, we shared the fritto misto (calamari, shrimp, and peppers fried and served with a chili aioli), which was served up perfectly in a timely manner. The peppers were charred at the edges and still had some bite to them, and the seafood was not rubbery at all. Delicious.
I then had the French onion soup. The cheese on top was nice and bubbly, the bread, crispy even after having been submerged in the soup. And the soup itself: divine. The broth was rich, beefy, and salty: exactly what I wanted in French onion.
My fiancé ordered the Delmonico ribeye steak, and I had the NY strip. Both were served at the perfect temperature with a crispy char crust. The ribeye had a full fat cap, which sealed in so much flavor.
We shared the loaded baked potato (as the sides are huge and sharable). The skin was crispy and seasoned well. The inside: fluffy and delicious.
As we were there to celebrate my birthday, I received a complimentary dessert. Since we were so well full from all the delicious food, they brought out the dessert packed for us. A special moment was still shared with a plate of whipped cream and candles. How sweet! It really made me feel special without feeling embarrassed.
We had such a great time and will definitely be back. Thank you all so much!
Wonderful meal. They were so accommodating when we requested a booth or something a little more private. The servers were very tentative and the food was absolutely amazing. The most tender steak I have ever had!
FRENCH ONION SOUP. Oh my. Husband and I love some FOS but Prime 47's is the best we've ever had. A steak house and my first rave is the soup! It's that good! The hub had the dry aged bone-in ribeye and I had the filet. Delicious and prepared exactly as requested. The sides are big enough to share (so glad our waitress told us before ordering way too much food) and so we shared the jalapeño au gratin potatoes, which were excellent. We tried the mushrooms but we just weren't fans of the seasoning used, but that's just our preference. Don't let our tastes deter you from trying them! We also had the bread pudding, which was incredible. It's a must try. We liked that although this is an upscale steakhouse, the dress code ranged from suits and jackets to t-shirt and jeans, making it a relaxing atmosphere. Wait staff were great, too!
Definitely a true steakhouse with excellent food and drinks. Only forewarning is it's quite a bit pricey but this venue would be about the only place to be able to charge what they do. Very personable staff and never waited more than a few minutes between meals and them checking how things were. Would definitely go back, but due to the prices, would need to be a special occasion.

Loved this place. The staff are super friendly and nice. The atmosphere is relaxed, classy without being stuffy. The steaks were perfect. Enjoyed every bite and the experience. Will come again when we come back to Indy.
This restaurant was very good. It was an awesome experience. Food was excellent. Waiter was very attentive and helpful with helping with selections. Our glasses were always topped off. There was never a wait for a refill. They even surprised us with dessert for our occasion that we were celebrating. We will be back again.
I was in Indianapolis for a convention for my work and they bussed 30 or so of us out to Prime 47 for a dinner. Because we had a large group it was a smaller menu than usual, but I got to order a fillet which is what I would have gotten anyway. Between the amazing steak, the delicious sides (lobster Mac & cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus) and the dessert sample platter (there was this key lime cake that was mind blowing) and the fantastic cabernet they served, I've never had a better meal in my life!
Visited here for anniversary dinner and was not disappointed. Food was amazing, atmosphere was awesome, and our servers were top notch. I had no complaints about anything. We made reservations, arrived on time (maybe even 5 minutes early), and were immediately seated. They had customized the menu header for my wife and I to help celebrate our evening, which was an unexpected but nice touch. Wait times for drinks, salads, and foods were short, but we never felt rushed. Portion sizes were ample, I did not leave hungry. There wasn't a dinner that was brought out to any table (and we watched several get delivered) that didn't leave us drooling and wishing we could try it all. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Great steakhouse with all the features and phenomenal service!
We were a party of 5 and we ordered lots of food!
We ordered appetizers, different cuts of steak, and different sides.
My most favorite items were the calamari and truffle fries! They were the best that I have ever had!
The only reason for 4-star review is that everything was quite salty and I couldn’t stop drinking water all night. But I will certainly go back!
Exceptional streak house. Loved the meatballs strip steak and “soft” chocolate chip cookie.
Very nice place to eat. Great atmosphere. For the price tho i was not to impressed with the steak. Just did not seem like the chef could cook our steaks right. My steak was from medium to medium rare. For a hundred dollar steak. You would think they would care more about the cooking. In all i have had better steaks at other places.
Have been here many times & they never disappoint! I had filet, cream corn, lobster mac & cheese & scallops with bacon jam!!! So good!!! My husband NY strip & with truffle butter. Dessert was outstanding as well! Best service, atmosphere in the city for romance!
Shelby was a fantastic server! Very attentive and absolutely did not miss a beat. Food is delicious as well, you absolutely get what you pay for here!
My man and I used to come to prime 47 downtown location ONLY atleast 3 times a month because of the amazing lamb chops!! We’re patiently waiting for them to put them back on the menu because we haven’t been back since :( please bring them back !! With the peppercorn gravy and mash my mouth is watering lol
