Looking at the reviews I think some people just like to complain, it's always been great all the way around, it's a little hole in the wall mom and pop place, but I will go ever chance I get, took my friends for the first time they loved it. Down to earth people. I would eat there than some expensive none caring place got enough food in one setting for 3 meals! You rock!

This is the classic American greasy spoon diner! It’s cheap and delicious. They have the best breakfast in Indy! The decor and neighborhood are awful and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Worth the drive from any side of town.
My first visit and I may have discovered the best Catfish dinner in Indiana. Only Gropp's Famous Fish of Stroh might beat it but I believe they closed their one remaining restaurant in Fort Wayne (gotta' check this to be sure). Their tartar sauce was superb, the fish was not "fishy", and each fillet was crisp and favorable. Can't wait to go back!

Keep this in mind. This is cheap food. Not inexpensive, cheap. With that in mind, know that this is a place that caters to the working man. That being said, they do it right. Large portions for $7.50. You won't find this much food for such a low price anywhere. And it's good. I had the Mann's beef with mash. Not only was the portion huge, it was all beef, and it was delicious. I'd eat here often if I were local. Service was also super fast.
After our trip to Working Man’s I was inclined to hit a BBQ place or a newly opened brewery. Pat was leaning more towards a meat and pick two kind of place. Since he was just back from Chicago, where he and his wife had biked 200 miles in two days,for charity,I thought it best to forgo debate and head to Mann’s Grill.
I've heard so much about this place.. Just had to try it.. For $8 I was served a ginormous plate of beef Manhattan with potatoes and gravy. My boyfriend received 3 large pork chops fried for the same price. Good food at a great price. The satisfaction percentage speaks for itself
Good food. Great waitstaff. Don't expect much to look at in terms of the decor but I feel thats what makes it awesome. Reminds me of my truckstop diner back home! :)
Never leave hungry!. Always a tradition when around that area to do Manns Grill! We do breakfast foods.
Huge on my book. Man, Manns portion sizes are huge. The quality of the food is ok. U get more than what u pay for.

I've been wanting to try Mann's Grill for quite some time. I wish I hadn't waited so long! The tasty fare was Home Cooked, Southern Country Food at its finest!! My Catfish diner was excellent. My wife and I also tried a plethora of breakfast items and we were not disappointed. All of it was exceptional. Great prices (they only take cash), huge portions, and prompt, friendly service. What more could one ask for? Dessert! Try it :)

LOTS of food for the money. Meat loaf, turkey & dressing, Country fried steak a staple. Mash potatoes leave you wanting. Great price for quantity of food. Healthy no but they do serve salad.
We always do take out now and they are fairly fast. Call ahead but be patient. Phone rings often.

Mann's Breakfast: W/Bacon, eggs, potaotes, and biscuits and gravy - served on 3 platters for cheap. Do you want atmposphere or do you want GREAT food? This place is GREAT, but not much to look at.
Great Food!. Grew up going to this little hole in the wall, and it is great! I usually get takeout, I like their new window pickup, alleviates having to stand in the door way, where you are always in the way. Great great great food!
I love how feeding three isn't going to break your wallet for the good home cooked feeling.
However I wish their broccoli and cheese would be redone, maybe fresh broccoli and cheddar instead of white cheese.

Sooo happy we tried this place!. We went yesterday with some out-of-town friends. None of us had been so we didn't know what to expect except for what the other reviewers had said.
Here's what you need to know:
1. The building on the outside and inside is nothing to look at. Dingy, old, worn... but the inside was clean.
2. there is no AC. They have fans going and it was fine... but then again yesterday wasn't a super hot day.
3. In that picture of the menu someone posted... don't let the items crossed out worry you. Here's how it works: They make much of their food from scratch. When they run out of something it is crossed off of the menu by the waitress so that when you are ordering, you know what is left and what isn't. It actually makes me feel good that they do this because it means that you are getting a fresh meal.
4. Our waitress was super super nice. Answered all our questions, took our order and got it delivered in record time. they run an efficient system here and i think there were only 2 waitresses for the whole place. It was impressive. They do a great job at at busing tables too.
5. the food was awesome.
* Chicken and dumplings was homemade. a little soupy for my taste but had a great flavor and was only a tad on the salty side.
* beef tips and mushrooms was WOW! i'd get that again and again and again. The beef had a great flavor. My only wish is that it was served over noodles.
* the country fried steak got rave reviews.
* the broccoli in the broccoli and cheese was real, fresh broccoli. yum.
* the green beans were standard green beans from a can.
* mac and cheese was very good. it was topped with a buttery cheese that was yummy. and it was a huge enough bowl that you could order that and e full!
* mashed potatoes and gravy - instant potatoes but they were good. Gravy was probably mix too but it was also good.
* we saw someone order the tenderloin sandwich and it was a generous portion. Onion rings looked to be the standard frozen ones. I'd probably give them a try sometime though.
* we saw the cook boxing a to-go bacon cheeseburger and it looked yummy. might have to try one of those too!
The only drawback is that they don't do free refills... but what they do is that you get a GIANT styrofoam cup when you order your drink so it ins't likely you'll need a refill... and if you do i think they were only 75 cents.
overall, we were impressed with the quality of the food, the speed and efficiency of service. And, for 2 meals,with drinks was only $18.
Oh, and they sell homemade pies, cakes and fudges by the counter... you can eat it there i'm sure but it is also nice to take home! I got some of the peanut butter fudge. A great deal for only $2.50!

Love mans grill!!! this is the best place ever...went for the first time last week for lunch with my husband...and we just love this place....a bit far to drive from where we live but worth the trip...the service is outstanding and the food is very well priced..we will definitly be back!!!

Pleasantly Surprised. When I heard the location of the restaurant Mann's Grill, I was weary to make the trip to the south side of Indy; however after reading Racheal Rays review on the place I was intrigued to try it. However I succeeded to the restaurant this last Saturday with my family. Upon arriving off the exit and down the road, we passed the restaurant several times. This is a surprise because once we pulled in the parking lot was full! There was a line at the to go window at least a block long, and a line out the door the same. Luckily my family had already gotten us a both. The menu was very simple. Eggs, meat, toast, pancakes, omlettes, and waffles. I had the french toast with whole wheat bread, and Aaron had bacon, eggs, and toast, my sister had the biscuits and gravy, and brother in law had a massive omlette bigger than my head along with their potato cakes and gravy. It took the waitress less than 5 minutes to get our order she was extremely attentive. Our food arrived in less than 10. It was good food, not the best I've ever had, but good home cooked food- like what grandma used to make in the kitchen on Sunday mornings before church. After we ate we got up to pay our bill. For all four of us it was less than fifteen dollars including the homemade peanut butter fudge i picked up for my grandmother. As soon as i turned around to leave a tip our table was full and the waitress was taking their order. The place is small less than 30 seats in house. However if your looking for good food at a great value Mann's Grill is definitely the place to visit. The service is good and quick, and the peanut butter fudge is to die for. However be prepared to wait or get up early, Manns is an undercover grover and its locals are loyal coming back almost everyday.
UNBELIEVABLE!. I met a wonderful woman in Indy and she turned me on to Mann's Grill. She said the food portions were so huge that I wouldn't be able to eat it all in 1 sitting. As of today I still can't eat all of it at one time and the taste of the food is great! I lived in Minnesota when we met and now she lives here with me. What I will say is that every time we are in Indianapolis I beg her to at least get to Mann's once before we come back home. We love the food, the service and especially the CHOCOLATE PIE!
Beef Manhatten. My husband just "discovered' this gem the other day. Told him I have been eating there since I was a child. Yummy food! Must agree that this is the best beef manhatten i have ever eaten. They layer the bread mashed potatoes and shredded beef high and you get 2 extra sides... trust me you will not be hungry after you eat this.....Brocolli and cheese and very kind people.
Great working mans place!!. I love this place!! You cant beat the prices & you never leave hungry!!The food is nothing fancy, just good ol comfort food. The Mann's breakfast is enough for two people. I've never had anything here I havent liked!! If you've never been here you're missing out & Dont let the look of the outside of the place scare you away!

Most Delicious Hole in The Wall You Will Ever Visit. I have to talk about breakfast and dinner. Mann's is a west side tradition, filled with stinky men working hard at factories all day. The bottom line is the food is amazing fattening home cook.
Mann's breakfast is awesome, I am a huge breakfast eater, you get a little bit of everything!
For dinner love the ribs, manhattans, country fried steak, and well pretty much it all besides the actual steaks. I am a get messy kind of girl so the manhattans are a comfort food for me, always satisfying!
For sides you again can't go wrong if you looking for big portions of fattening home cooking. Broc and Cheese, Mac nCheese, greenbeans, corn.
I can't eat it as much anymore usually I split a meal with my mom or a friend, but Mann's still warms my heart!
PS Make sure your tip makes it to your waitress these girls work hard for all those factory works everyday, and I have seen TRASH people pick up tips of tables TWICE here. Just sayin.

For the biggest portion of good breakfast food you will get in this town,this is the place.Be warned it is a run down looking place,and not the cleanest place around,and in a very down trodden area.Also if you go there on a staurday morning they will be lined up in the parking lot.I don't know why the diners-driveins-&dives show did'nt come here,but went to carmel(lol).
We Love Mann's. OK, it isn't fancy, unless you're into big stuffed fish and NASCAR stuff for decor. And it's not out to win nouvelle cuisine awards.
This is big-plate, home-style po' folks food. Mann's once fed me through a broken arm on 2 meals and one Mann's breakfast to feed me all week, thats how big the portions are. If something isn't right, they will fix it, no attitude. The waitresses are personable, friendly, efficient and call you "Sweetie" and "Baby". (Jamie is our fave.) It's been like this for over 30 years.
The bisquits and gravy are the bomb. Good mac n cheese, mashed potatos, green beans and cole slaw. Home-made peanut butter fudge, banana pudding, prime rib dinner for 8 bucks on Fridays. The fries arrive smokin' hot. And you can come here in your pajamas if you want to. It may not be fashionable but it's fun and it's filling.
Great Dive. I have never had a meal at Mann's that I didn't enjoy. Comfort food at it's best and huge portions for the money.
Price and Portions- incredible!. Sure Mann's will never be known for the decor, or the heating/cooling (you'll melt/freeze by the door), or their awesome service (though I've never had "bad" service there). But if you want a mountain of good food, of the comfort variety, you have to go to Mann's! I've been there several times and have yet to clean my plate 100%, and for an eater like me, that's saying something! I'm thinking of bringing my family of 4 and splitting one of the breakfasts between us. :)
Mann's Grill has been in same location for decades. They have consitantly served good food, with great portions at excellent prices. Best "Hole in wall restaurant in town". If you like to eat simple food you'll love Mann's Grill. Enjoy!!!
THANKSGIVING DINNER. This year we went a little different and had Mann's make all the side dishes (I made the turkey, afraid of not doing it) not again the side dishes we got were wonderful and if it was sooo good, I know the turkey would be too.

Ordered the Mann's Breakfast.. It was $5.95 for toast, French Toast, 2 eggs, about 8 pieces of bacon, & hash browns... If you're into checking out hole in the wall restaurants, check this one out for sure.
HEAVEN!. Great prices. Huge portions. Servers with a sense of humor and active listeners! If you don't get full here, it's YOUR fault! The only thing I would recommend they do...EXPAND! But the food is still worth the wait to be seated.
Hearty Food and Lots of It. Huge portions of standard fare like Meatloaf, Swiss Steak, Fried Tenderloin and lots of Mashed Potatoes! Breakfasts are big. It is not fancy but it is a good value.
GOOD FOOD!!!. This is some of the best food in town my whole family loves this place. I started going there when i was real little with my Grandma.Now i'm older and have started my own family we go there at least once a month.Happy B-day to my Princess she will be 1 on the 15th.

Lovely small-time restaurant and grill, it has a cozy and intimate dining environment with old fashioned booths. While some may sniff at the simple and economic design of the place, it in fact accentuates the hominess, not so open and spacious as to make one feel distant from the experience the food and it's servers bring to the business.
The staff is kind yet energetic, the food is fresh made to order with a "down home" style, the facilities are all clean, and they offer more services than just food, such as candy, toys, etc..
The food options are definitely big, and the portions equally so, and with every entree you get two sides, also massive and equally delicious and fresh.
The outdoor dining area, while not a "5-star Michelin" quality, is definitely a hometown experience, with plenty of tables and chairs, many which are under a large awning, and the servers do bring your food out to you, with a smile.
Overall, this is a fantastic place to try out. Their menu is large and the portions just as big, the culture is welcoming and courteous, and the prices are appropriate and WELL worth it to get a true cuisine of delight! Check it out!

The food here is absolutely amazing. They give big portions of home style cooking. Best Mac n cheese I've ever had. 😋 The kid at the counter was new and not the best at listening. With time he'll get better, he's young.
Even though it's in the city, this place has amazing home style cooking and the service to match it. The people that work here always treat you like family and are so understanding. Even if they had a bad shift, they will treat you like a person and not just a paycheck. Now if you are sensitive or a Karen or whatever don't come here because you are not going to enjoy what they have to say. They speak their minds if you are being disrespectful or anything because they don't take that stuff. If you come here, it is worth it. Definitely a great place for a family breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have been coming here since I was a little kid and it is by far the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. It may be small but great things come in small packages and I tell you this place is great.
Mann's Grille is unique and I can understand why it's become something of an institution. The portions are large. The prices are fantastic (5-star). The service is very good. The food is okay (3-star). The facility is a little rough. Will I return? I'm sure I will. This was my third visit.
This place came up on Google maps when we were looking for a place to eat breakfast. Excellent choice! It looks like a little 'hole in the wall' place, but it is bigger and better than it looks at first glance. Our waitress was great; she'd been working there 17 years... so far. Let me tell you that the portions are huge and the prices are beyond reasonable. I asked for a side of bacon. And I got a plate FULL, probably a half a pound or more! Anywhere else I would have received 2 to 3 strips. There were five in our party: 6 meals, 2 extra sides, 5 drinks - cost $54. I thought this was incredibly reasonable. I live two states away, but if I ever venture this way again, it's a definite stop!
Servers were very nice and good natured. Catfish and fried pork chops were excellent. Bacon cheeseburger was pretty good. Home fries and macaroni and cheese were great. Onion rings were good but weren't crispy. Cornbread and coleslaw were not good at all. Restrooms were clean and prices were pretty decent. A lot of food for the money. I would go again.
