Even with the comic convention and a huge revolving door of customers at lunch, our wait staff and hostess was super nice and food came very fast.

Great food. Great location downtown. Friendly staff. We had to order on the kiosk during one visit, but the next visit had a live person to take your order if you needed such accommodations. I gave them a 4 because the atmosphere wasn't that great. The homeless population appeared to use this location as a "wash up" spot
There’s not a lot of Steak N’ Shakes around anymore so when I come across one I make a point to go. The food at this location is great, but you have to order on your own at kiosk and then walk up to a counter when they call your number to pick up your food and that’s the only way to order. It’s in downtown Indianapolis, so you have to duck and weave around the homeless on the street corners. The day we went there was actually one passed out and sleeping on the ground at the front door but management didn’t seem to care about moving him along.
We stopped in for a bite to eat while the FFA National convention was in town. Many businesses were overwhelmed by the volume of people, but this particular Steak and Shake thrived with the high number of customers! They were incredibly efficient. Their staff kept things clean and moving along all while keeping an upbeat and entertaining atmosphere! This place knows how to run a business!! Thank you!
I haven't been here in about year because of how bad it was. It's improved alot. Friendly service. They managed to get our food out in 7 minutes. Food was okay for what you pay. It'll take time but if they can keep this good service going maybe they'll bring back customers and it'll be at its peak like it once was:)
They are open!! Go eat here again. It has been remodeled and the staff was friendly and ready to help. You now order at a kiosk but our food, even with milkshakes came out very quickly. Tasted like the same Steak ‘n Shake burger and fries I’ve always enjoyed!

Food was hot and fresh! Portions are fair and are filling! Milkshakes are to DIE FOR! I'd recommend the Oreo mint! Right next to the mall so it's a nice walk to get a quieter atmosphere after shopping all day :)
Anytime that I'm not in Wisconsin I check for Steak and Shake. I live and breathe this restaurant, it is just that good. I docked one point for atmosphere because there are homeless people outside asking for money, while I understand this is not Steak and Shakes fault, it is a small detriment to the atmosphere. I highly recommend a shake and Frisco melt, it's the best they've got and it does not disappoint.
We visited here for my son's 3rd birthday, after a sub-par experience at the Sugar Factory across the street. This Steak 'n Shake was spotlessly clean, everyone working was pleasant, helpful, and friendly, and the food was amazing! Highly recommend!!

Ok , sooooo .. Where do I began with Steak N Shake ? I've never actually had a problem with this particular restaurant .. My only problem was last time I ordered two milk shakes from them , I did it through Door dash .. Major mistake . There are just some resturaunts you don't order through Door dash , and Steak N Shake just happens to be one of them . Major disaster . My sister and I ordered a milk shake , and of course I wanted for them to have a delivery driver bring me my order .. Unfortunately , they had the order where I was to pick it up instead .. To make a long story short , we ended up not getting our order , we went back and forth arguing with the Door dash representative , and she ended up having to call her bank for a full refund , because the representative thought we weren't entitled to a full refund .. But if we didn't get our order , I beg to differ . Door dash is supposed to be a delivery app , so why on earth would I need to go pick up my own order ? Smh .. Made no sense to me at all whatsoever ..
Gencon is in full effect and this place is cranking out orders very quickly. Bathrooms are clean considering how busy it is.
Certainly the place is packed but somehow they are managing to maintain the integrity of their business.
Very happy we stopped here to support them.
Various choices of milk shake is very fun and delicious! You can build your own milk shake. This burger restaurant is not a "fast"-food, but you can eat freshly-made burgers, shakes, and so on. Service is good, the price is not so expensive. You will wait a little bit, but friendly waiterand waitress will bring you a very good food!!
This place was slammed when we visited tonight. Had some issues using a gift card at the order kiosks. I found the manager, as I said this place was hopping mad busy. This dude was calm, not stressed and took care of our order and gift card. 5 stars.
