Great food, fast & friendly customer service! The belgian waffle was amazing & so was the loaded croissant! It has a mom & pop atmosphere, yet the speed and quality at which the food was delivered was that of a chain. Delicious!!!
Breakfast at any of the Hot Cakes Emporium Pancake Houses is always a pleasure. The food is always cooked to order, especially for this picky eater. Come alone or bring a crowd, There may a wait but it is worth it. You can always count on great food and friendly service.
Consistently fantastic. Try the pancakes: amazing. Stellar service. It is our go to breakfast spot. Even if its busy and there is a line to get in, its worth the wait.
Food was great and came out quickly. Service wasn't good, but we dealt with it. Because the servers were sitting around talking amongst themselves, it took longer than should have to seat us, check on us, get the check, and pay.
This is one of my favorite breakfast spots... It feels like home, the portions are big, food is great and service is always excellent. You get more than what you pay. I love this place!
We went to the Hotcakes Emporium on a weekend. While the restaurant was busy, our service was quick. I was impressed with the variety of menu items--from omlettes to sweet or savory crêpes. There are quite a few veg options also. I had the spinach and feta omlette with delicous pancakes. Coffee was just okay but only cost $1.60--a bargain. I look forward to returning.
Best breakfast in Indy!!!. Love love love this place! Food is always delicious and fresh. The pancakes are addicting as is the blt omelette! Portions are extremely generous. Prices are very reasonable. Service is always quick and servers are friendly and cheerful. If you go there more than a couple times they most certainly remember you. Rae is the best server and always is smiling and happy to see us. Every time we decide to try another breakfast place, they always fall short and we end up saying 'we should have gone to Hotcakes Emporium'! Try it, you won't be disappointed.
I came for and celebrated my birthday here and they came and sang to me and brought me a mickey mouse pancake with syrup and choc chips....anywho I got the loaded potatoes with scrambled eggs....as close to a cafe patachou order as I could get with a side of sour cream..which all of it was good...the whole restaurant was singing...but regardless of that it was a good visit..

Fluffy pancakes!! Not as good as my gal's, but ya know. Every kind of topping possible! Be prepared for a sugar coma! Corned beef hash is really good too!! The waitress even put fairy dust on my pancakes!!! Awesome staff!!! Friendly and fun!!
This place is right down the road from my house and I've passed it over and over for a year. It's a very simple dining room where the service is very impersonal but the food was very good. Everything on the menu from simple eggs an bacon to pancakes and loaded skillets. Definitely hit up the skillets they are amazing!
HOTCAKES!. LOVE IT!! We send everyone we know here. Staff is always friendly. PLENTY of food!! GREAT local place...all our kids and families from little league LOVE IT!!!!
Two words: Crack. Pancakes. Second time I've been there but the first time I ordered the pancakes. I will be sure to order them every time. Matter of fact...why aren't I eating them now?
The staff works extremely hard and the food is always fast and hot. Great neighborhood meeting place for an all American breakfast and happy staff.
Great Breakfast Spot. I went here on a Wednesday morning for a business breakfast. The dining area was large and only a few tables were occupied at 7:30, so getting a seat was no problem. As was mentioned in other reviews, the service was great and friendly and the coffee was good and ample. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and ate every last bite. There were three plain hotcakes to the order and they were covered with mini chocolate chips that were melted from the warmth of the pancakes. The chocolate syrup and dollop of butter made it so that I didn't even consider reaching for the maple syrup. This probably wasn't the healthiest way to start off my Wednesday morning, but it certainly was a tasty way to do so.
Best Breakfast in Indy. The name is spot on. Hotcakes fluffy, hot and delicious! Hot coffee, spinach bacon swiss omelet is huge. Low prices, friendly staff. Go hungry.
My roomie and I have found rhus to be our new regular! pecan pancakes with coconut are amazing!
Stopped by this place for the first time. I was very impressed by the service and the good. They were quite busy. We had the eggs (any way), hashbrowns, bacon and hotcakes. What a meal! The coffee was hot, fresh, and never-ending. We enjoyed the selection of flavored creamers at each table. We will return again. Next time, perhaps the French Toast. As an additional treat, a few tables away, Governor Mitch Daniels was enjoying a nice meal.
Delicious! I'm not normally a fan of big breakfast but this place could change me! Blueberry pancakes are the best I've ever had.
Scrumptious. Hotcakes Emporium is fairly new to Indianapolis. It's located in an unassuming space near the busy intersection of 86th Street and Ditch Road. We went for lunch on a Sunday.
The place was pretty full (first Colts game of the season), but we still got a table right away. The server was harried but nice. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs with a side of pancakes. It took about fifteen minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered. It was definitely worth the wait.
Everything was quite good. The steak was thick and juicy with a flavorful batter and decent, though somewhat bland, gravy. A little salt and pepper fixed that right up. The eggs, which I ordered over-easy, were carefully prepared.
The pancakes were awesome. Really, really fluffy but still substantial. I prefer my pancakes plain, but if you like stuff in them there are lots of options. My stepdaughter got hers with chocolate chips, and they actually looked kind of good with chocolate syrup drizzled all over them and powdered sugar sprinkled liberally about.
My wife had an omelette with ham, spinach and cheese. I tried a bite and it was delicious. All of the food was well thought out and prepared with care. The value for the money at this place is excellent.
Highly recommended for breakfast food. Perhaps I'll try a sandwich next time, though I suspect it will be hard to resist those pancakes.
My whole family loves Lincoln square! I usually take my 90 yr old grandad here for brunch and it’s super handicap assessable. Great free parking. Food is always great. Friendly staff and fast service!!! I always love when destiny is my server!
We love this place they have the best service and food in town. The people are always kind and the food is warm and fresh.
This place was recommended to me by my brother. He was not joking when he said this place was "fire". The apple butter that came with the deep fried bisquits was so so good. The portion size was great also. We ordered the breakfast quesadilla, and it also came with nachos, guacamole, and queso. It was so much food, I ended up taking home leftovers which I just finished for breakfast today. My wife ordered the pancakes and they were really good also. I believe the pancake batter was malted, something you don't run into often, so that was a fun surprise. This is a place I would recommend if you're not counting calories and just want a flavorful breakfast.
I have been wanting crepes so went there. Had to send them back the first time they were crunchy and overcooked. When remade they weren't filled and then charged for the filling 🙄. They weren't horrible but won't order those anymore.
The husband enjoyed his food though, so I guess it was balanced.
Good comforting food. You get it in good quantity to fill you up. Super friendly staff.
We were seated immediately on a Sunday at 10am. The coffee was served hot and remained hot the entire meal. Our waitress Penny was phenomenal and she was super attentive and got our food out to us fast and hot. Will definitely be back!
Epic portion size of very tasty food. Everything was very good, including the coffee. Pictured is the meatlovers scramble and the German skillet with potato pancakes (also got regular pancakes). The flavor of the gravy and sausage was spot on delicious. Very nice staff and attentive waitress. Restaurant seating and tables are arranged fairly close together but it was still pretty comfortable. Would recommend for sure and return.
Always busy, but staffed well. Food comes out quickly and is really tasty. Love the large cup of coffee to get the day going. Service is friendly and attentive.
First time visiting this new spot, though it’s closer to my home. Sounds silly, but I was nervous that it wouldn’t hold up to my favorite location out in Meridian. Im happy to announce that I was very wrong. It was quality customer service, level of attention, and courtesy. I enjoyed my meal very much and plan to visit again soon.
Food:
California Benedict
Tour the Fruit Platter (French Toast)
Sausage and scrambled eggs on the side
Coffee and water
First time coming here. My wife and I really enjoyed our breakfast. Service was absolutely great. Great selection of music playing. No complaints at all. When we are in town again we will definitely stop by.
The food is great! Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great!
Both managers are friendly and inviting! Thanks a lot for having our table ready. Also, Alizon, we are thankful for greeting everybody with a smile!
My neighbor, Annet and I love Daniel. He is a joyous server.
Great food and service will keep us coming back.

My absolute favorite breakfast place in Indy! I've been there like 10 times and have never had a bad experience. Try the gravy and the French toast and the omelet! Fresh good, great service, and friendly people.
I love this place. The food is so good. I usually get Martin's Breakfast Bowl which is a very creative and delicious original dish of theirs. They are very quick when I order takeout as well.
