Not bad for a chain BBQ joint. It's good for a quick BBQ fix but it's not my first choice for great BBQ. I'd rather drive to Nora and hit my favorite BBQ spot (check my reviews to see what it is.)

Good BBQ available right across the street from Famous Dave's.... Looking for good BBQ and reading my review? Then all you need to know is that you need to keep driving north on 31 another block or two and find "City Barbeque." That is by far the better place in terms of bang for your buck and flavor country.
Famous Dave's gives you a whopping three ribs when you get the "ribs and meat" combo meal for $18. Two small sides also come standard with it, but mostly, this was a giant rip off when I ordered it with the "burnt ends." The ribs were tender, but the burnt ends were slathered in a sweet sauce that covered up the fact that these weren't really burnt ends as much as they were cubed brisket that had not a speck of crust on them. Rookies. My wife was okay with her pulled chicken sandwich but it was nothing special.
For a meal that cost northwards of $30 for two people, this place has nothing too redeeming to continue to come back here for. Even if you're a scaredy-cat who can't bring themselves to try things other than chains, then Smokey Bones is probably a better pick than Average Joes, errr, I mean Famous Dave's.
Awesome. I like this place. You have to try the mac n cheese as a side with your meal. I think you'll be surprised! Everything else is also really good. The chicken is great and the BBQ is even better. Prices aren't all that bad either. Service is hit or miss but I feel like the quality of the food outweighs that, and the Wilbur Sauce, which is one of the sauce options on the table, is GREAT! Try it with the chips.
Good food, Great service. My fiance and I were in Greenwood for a stay-vacation, We decided to try Famous Dave's and were pleasantly surprised.
I am an avid griller, I love BBQ. My fiance on the other hand doesn't enjoy meat very much or any type of meat with bones in it.
So we decided to get carry out because of the issues of people eating meat off of the bone, we decided on the meal for two (which seemed appropriate). It was massive, half a chicken, half a slab of ribs, half a pound of brisket, two sides(mac and cheese, and green beans), (which were on the small side) 4 ears of corn (way over cooked and watery), two corn bread muffins, an endless supply of bbq sauce and wet naps. My fiance didnt find the corn very appealing or the green beans, but I thought the green beans were alright, better with salt and pepper.
The Mac and cheese we both thought was weird but good.
The meat was moist, well smoked and delicious. They seemed to skimp on the bbq sauce during the prep but that was easily solved with a few packs of sauce.
The meal totalled at $43.35 and we left a generous tip for our carry out attendee, she was kind, helpful and nice.
We plan on eating there again, and would suggest this place to friends and family. (get the togo its easier and much less expensive.)
Very Good Food. My husband and I have been here twice. The meat is really well seasoned, and nearly a melt in your mouth consistency. Both times the waitress was very polite and helpful to us. Only negative I could possibly think of was the spiciest sauce on the table wasn't as spicy as I had imagined. We will definitely be coming back!
Ouch!. Pretty good BQ. We got one of their feasts and it was all pretty solid stuff, but my wallet didn't appreciate it.
Derek at the greenwood location is a awesome server
Not too bad the brisket was really good the rib tips tough and leather like too hard to eat. The sides were good service was too. I don't advise ordering tips old tasting and as I said above. The sauces are very good so try it you won't be disappointed.
Fast friendly service, decent portions at a reasonable price. I had the Texas Brisket sandwich with a side of mashed potatoes. The potatoes were pretty bland, the sandwich was okay. I am pretty spoiled because there are so many extraordinary BBQ places in the deep south. This one was pretty unremarkable, but not too bad. I don't think BBQ is a big deal in this area because this restaurant and another BBQ restaurant down the street was nearly empty at noon on a Tuesday.
Famous Dave is my go-to place when ever I can get it.
My husband is a Truck driver and most of the time we have to order online.
The cashier in the Togo area did a fantastic job. From answering my questions and making sure our order was correct. Awesome job!!!!
As far as the food. It was huge. Not complaining. But it was almost cold.
The taste was really good and the portion was good. Except for the rib tips. Which was only a 4 to 6 small pieces that we paid extra for and it was almost near cold.
If it was hot when it arrived. And a little bit more rib tips. It would of been a perfect dinner.
Drew waiter is a stud worker. Fast accurate and friendly. 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ star customer service. Good place to eat with family. Good location. Would eat here any day.
Has a rustic farmhouse decor and Christmas lights hanging inside & out.
The food and service were good.
Had the brisket. Liked several of the barbecue sauces on the tables. Fries were like home fries, corn muffins are delicious.
Clean restrooms. Full bar.
Pepsi products!
My first time here.. I must say the wait wasn't bad for a Friday.. Our server was awesome food very good.. BUT i personally thought for the price VS helpings not so much... Ive gone to places comparable and got much more for same $ now the beer price wasn't too bad!

This place never fails to be anything but great! Ask for the waiter from West Virginia - super friendly and very courteous!
I haven't eaten Famous Dave's in a long time, no longer in South Bend so I was real excited to eat at Famous Dave's once again, delicious food 😋 chicken, ribs, brisket, corn on the cob, fries, baked beans and cornbread.😋
I recommend that you go when it's less busy. They are permanently understaffed and become overwhelmed easily, so service may become slow. The food is well-cooked and tasty! We go here when we're craving BBQ. You can get a meal for two delivered on a trash can lid to your table.
The chili was good for appetizer got a rib combo plate ribs were warm the brisket was very good and the beef tips we're like getting riblets with the bones in it an Applebee's waitress very nice place was very clean no other issues
Everything was amazing, can't go wrong with the catfish fingers or was the best I've ever had
We went tonight and it was delicious. Their bleu cheese dressing is perfection. Our waitress was friendly, quick and attentive. We didn't even have to ask for refills which for my husband is very rare. He goes through tea like nobody's business lol. I had the potato soup and side salad which came with a corn bread muffin, soft and sweet. My husband's brisket and Georgia chopped pork were so tender and delicious.
